I have been a loyal ARS / Rescue Rooter customer since buying my home in 2016, consistently paying a monthly membership fee for routine maintenance and following their recommendations for system upgrades over the years. Over the past couple of years, the tone shifted from routine service to aggressive, high-pressure tactics from technicians insisting I replace a 10-year-old unit that was running without issue.

During a recent routine check-up, the technician again pushed for a full replacement. Immediately after that technician left my property, the unit completely stopped working.

When I contacted ARS to fix the sudden failure, I was told the unit could not be repaired and was quoted thousands of dollars for full replacement options to resolve an issue caused during their own visit. The failure left my home without air conditioning for a week during severe heat, leading to severe health complications for my tenants.

ARS repeatedly failed to resolve the issue. I was forced to hire an independent, licensed HVAC company to perform emergency repairs. The independent technician diagnosed the problem as a refrigerant leak resulting directly from physical tampering at the service valves.

When I escalated this with ARS management—providing full details and giving them an opportunity to review the damage and reimburse the out-of-pocket repair costs—their Quality Assurance department dismissed the claim and refused to take any responsibility. To make matters worse, they continued to bill my monthly membership fee even after explicit cancellation requests.

If you value honest service, equipment integrity, and basic customer support, avoid ARS Rescue Rooter. They will compromise functional equipment to generate multi-thousand-dollar sales leads, leave you stranded in dangerous heat, and walk away from the damage they cause. Formal complaints have been submitted to state licensing boards and consumer protection agencies. Save yourself the headache and hire an honest local contractor instead.

Good communications from the office prior to the scheduled visit and helpful explanations from the technician of his findings during the visit.

The air conditioning upstairs was not working. I called ARS and told them. They sent a gentleman out the next morning. He checked both systems and said they both needed to be replaced because of a short. At first he said it could take a week to get both. After checking with the office, he was able to have both delivered the next day. He installed both that day and said both are under warranty for 10 years. I was extremely happy how it turned out.

The technician did excellent work in installing a new kitchen faucet, which he had selected. He demonstrated its unique, modern features and answered all my questions. I would recommend ARS if you're in need of this work or any plumbing job. Their personnel are knowledgeable, professional, and the prices are reasonable.

The technicians worked quickly to install my new AC. They were polite and respectful to me and my property. Cleaned up everything when they were finished and it only took 2 hours.

I am confident my HVAC system will continue to operate efficiently as a result of this check-up. The crew arrived on time, were efficient and wrapped an exposed conduit running to my compressor.

I have had good experiences with ARS in the past, but I was disappointed this time. I called as a follow up to an issue I had in February, which ARS helped me address. I was therefore disappointed that the plumber arrived unprepared, without a snake camera or a suffioiently large snake to clear my blocked drain. The visit was a waste of both of our time. I contacted another plumber to fix the issue.

This company is running a fraudulent enterprise that seeks to take advantage in every situation they enter. Their “trained” professional technician Amjad Butt “diagnosed” my malfunctioning 9 year old Carrier HVAC system as basically dead. He expressly stated that “the compressor had failed” and that “the system was at end of life and needed full replacement.” He proposed a total
Compressor Replacement - Includes Refrigerant for $5,696.00. He proposed a new Blower Motor Replacement - OEM and a Condenser Fan Motor Repair or Replace - OEM for $5,169.00. But he repeatedly also stated in writing “RECOMMEND FREE NO OBLIGATION ESTIMATE ON NEW EQUIPMENT” I called a friend familiar with all things HVAC. He found the capacitor was dead. It was obvious to any HVAC tech trainee that the capacitor was bad because it was puffed up as those things get when they go bad. He replaced it with a new $10.55 capacitor. The system works perfectly. AVOID USING THIS HORRIBLE FRAUDULENT ENTERPRISE!

I have been working with ARS/Rescue Rooter- Manassas for over 25 years and our second heat pump and inside HVAC unit replacement and their staff and technicians have always been professional, knowledgeable and efficient.

ARS did a great job installing our air conditioner and heat pump. The lead contractor and his assistant was very informatiive and answered all my questions. Afterwards, they learned up. They were very mannerly and provided great customer service.

Very informative and friendly technician, he provided excellent information about the cooling system and recommendations for simple maintenance. He was very thorough, showed me picture of the coils and ducts and provided reasonable expectations for the life of the system and possible issues to look for.

Our AC stopped working 4 days ago, due to the compressor which this was the second time it happened and replaced the parts. We called to set up an appointment - they said the next day between 4-8pm, 8 o'clock came still waiting and we got a phone call said we had to reschedule for the following day between 12 to 2pm, I had to take the day off from work that day so I can be home. He showed up the next day at 2 ish he worked at it for 45 minutes. We got charged for $730!!
For what? We said we are under lifetime warranty for parts so it should be free just pay the labor!!! Well he said that was the labor! Are you kidding me?? We were with this company for almost at least 20 years we bought the system from them and each year for maintenance and they were good and trusted them. But these passed few years been having really bad experiences after purchasing a water heater from them 4 years ago((canceled appointments and overcharged. So we are looking for other company out there that can be trusted. Any recommendations?

Joshua was a great technician who knew his stuff, and identified the problem straight away. He then checked over the rest of our system.
