Absolutely amazing and enlightening learning experience. Left the retreat having grown musically and personally.

I encountered an accomplished, polished, professional writer & educator with an enormous heart and a sincere desire to connect with others on a human level. Not often I encounter people with this level of success in commercial music who are still humble & grounded. She was able to communicate her secrets and techniques in such a way that they were new & fresh to an older writer like me, yet still engage and make those same concepts understandable at a kitchen-table level to those in our cohort who hadn’t really studied songwriting on a professional scale. It would have been easy to spook a new writer with her level of knowledge, yet at no point did I sense anyone feeling overwhelmed or struggling because the material went over their head. So, not an easy task for her. And she made it seem effortless. And at no point was I bored. Not for a second. It would have been quite easy for her to go granular with faculty-speak, yet everything remained pragmatic and accessible. A great handbook accompanying these sessions as well. This retreat is ideal for aspiring songwriters and even helped inspire a high-mileage scribbler like me. Worth every.single.penny.

Attending Andrea’s retreat was an absolute game-changer for my songwriting journey! The serene setting, workshops, and collaborative atmosphere fostered creativity like never before. From daily sessions to afternoon co-writing and late-night jam sessions, every moment was pure magic. The attention to detail, from accommodations to meals, was impeccable. The retreat was absolutely incredible. It pushed me to another level with my songwriting and performing. The people I met are incredible and Andrea is a wonderful mentor!

This was my very first songwriting retreat so I didn't quite know what to expect but all expectations were greatly exceeded.

Many questions that I had, and many that I didn't realize that I needed the answer to, were answered by Andrea or her guest speakers in such a simple, easy to understand way. I got my writing inspiration back, which was one of my goals with this retreat, and I know what direction I now want to take my music.

The only other things that I could have wished for was a personal critique of my songs (which is offered in the VIP package but was sold out when I found out about the retreat) and more time. More time to keep absorbing Andreas wisdom and more time to cowrite with my fellow students.

All in all, it was worth every penny!

Thank you Andrea, please keep doing these retreats for those of us who love songwriting but need a little help to understand the music industry and our own gifts!

Very knowledgeable, caring, supportive songwriting teacher. Honestly, Andrea is the BEST songwriting teacher I've found in over 20 years of being a writer. There's so much useful information in the online & in-person retreats + her books to apply into the songs I'm writing. Looking forward to learning & most importantly applying the different tools I'm learning (rhyme scheme, structure, odd # lines of a section, melody, melodic motifs, etc). HIGHLY recommend Andrea to ANY songwriter, especially if you're serious about songwriting!

It was a very kind, encouraging space for learning key aspects of developing as a songwriter. The topics and insight were extremely helpful, as were the industry expert guest speakers. I highly recommend the retreat to anyone interested in songwriting!

Andrea's approach to songwriting is unlike anything I have ever encountered before, and yet it is exactly what I've always needed. She isn't there to impress her ideas onto your projects. She's there to help you untangle obstacles with practical exercises. Her feedback is the most constructive I've ever received, and she improved my writing process in ways I never imagined. I highly recommend her mentorship. I'm not exaggerating when I say it changed my life.

Andrea is a rare and special talent with a unique ability to explain the unexplainable. She has amazing musical and lyrical sensibilities and the knack for making songs better with encouragement, without coddling and yet you always feel great having heard her thoughts...

This experience exceeded my expectations! Not only have I learned loads of great tools and tricks in songwriting but I have also improved my self-confidence and met amazing human beings. During that short week I have been able to be myself, feel like I was at the right place, at the right time - in a safe, non-judgment and supportive environment. I had the most fortunate pleasure of attending Andrea's songwriting workshop in Fall of 2022 with 30 other writers from around the world. From the moment I arrived I was enveloped in an atmosphere of creativity and inspiration. The location was perfectly nested in an intimately secluded and wooded area of Yosemite national park. Andrea and her Team had carefully curated a program catered to both seasoned and intermediate writers, who all shared a passion for their craft. There was morning yoga, daily workshops, and evening performances around a campfire. The diversity of the attendees added to the richness of the experience, and fostered a vibrant and collaborative environment. The surroundings were tranquil and majestic, and I felt incredibly inspired to share my ideas, learn new techniques, and grow as a writer with each daily workshop. Do not underestimate the life long connections you will surely make, fresh and new musical avenues you will explore, and the natural beauty that you will find both in the locations and with Andrea and her Team. I left impressed and inspired and I wanted more again. Still do.
