Ambiente were recommended by my heat geek installer as I have installed my own underfloor heating.

My first issue was that I was never provided with a parts list of what would be delivered for the install. They just provided a broad outline of parts and the design. Stupidly I paid up and went ahead.

Included in my delivery and obviously charged for were 2 rolls of edge tape which weren't required as I had already purchased these elsewhere and installed them in preparation. Also 5 rolls of tail tape were included which also weren't required.

The design had the pipework at various spacings but mostly at 250mm centres. I have subsequently learned that 150mm centres would be much better. Unfortunately my system is now down and screeded so there isn't anything I can do about it.

Through no fault of ambiente my heat geek recommended that I purchase the ambiego self balancing actuators. I bought 7 of these for the install and it now transpires that they aren't required.

I requested to return the goods that I don't need, namely:

7 ambiego actuators
5 rolls tail tape
2 rolls edge roll

They have agreed to take them back and provide a refund less a 25% restocking charge.

I think the restocking charge is excessive and up to now they have failed to give me a breakdown of the refund.

I should have been provided with a detailed parts list at the outset with itemised prices. This would make any returns transparent and I would have not ordered the tail tape and edge roll to be part of the delivery.

Very disappointed with this company. I had an alternative quote from the Underfloor heating store and really wish I had used them.

we recently had a UFH project in sheffield and out heat pump provider used ambisolo from ambiente due to the limited head room.

I had quite a few questions and Darren even came to Sheffield to look around my house and make sure it was suitable.

the system is working really well and heats the house perfectly. i was worried about the lack of insulation on concrete slab, but heats really quickly and holds the temp well.

I now wish i stayed clear of the Ambifibre and wish i could post images of how bad this product is.
initially working with Ambient, I found them to be supper helpful. I order and installed the UFH system Ambisolo, the install went smoothly, although this is the first time I have used an Ambient system over the last 19 years I have installed approx. 30 UFH systems over differing project. my main issues was with the AmbiFibre Levelling compound, the product never acted as required, remaining wet to walk, the screed began to fracture and pealing up banana.

When speaking with Gerry Shephard (BD manager) we went through an elimination process and product so called testing,

Garry suggested the original concrete floor was still wet- even though it was laid in the 90's when the property was built. and another of other possibilities.

The issues was solely in the location where we used the Ambient leveling compound. in other zones i used a deep fill levelling compound (brought from a local tilling shop) and never experienced any issues.

The UFH has now been installed for five months and the location where i installed the Ambifibre continues to fracture and brake up!

We have referred to the factory who have now completed several tests on a number of bags from the batch in question.

None of these tests returned a negative result and all conformed to the quality control standards as met and specified within the technical data of the product.

As we are a supply only company, we are very aware that site conditions, installation, and application can vary dramatically from site to site. Any effect this may have on the performance of a product is outside of the product specification, and ultimately outside of our control.

Unfortunately, beyond this we are not in a position to advise on what steps you should or should not take next as we cannot be held liable for costs incurred against such advice. All we can advise is that the product conforms to the expected QC and spec.
