A Nightmare. I can only agree with the 1-star ratings. I started with them a couple years ago. I purchased the option for a ghost writer, due to my schedule. I would send my content for the "writers and editing team" and it would come back straight from Chat GPT. Not what I expected, but at some point realized there were no humans doing this work. Although they denied my discovery, it was quite obvious. I ended up finishing the on my own and when I tried sending the manuscript, it bounced back. Lots of SNAFUs in between, but bottom line is they are a scam. When I found their contact number on this site, they would not tell me they were Amazon Digital Pro, they just said a book publishing company. After prodding the associate admitted they were ADP, but wouldn't tell me their new name. Only stated he would have someone from their team to return my call. I would like to get in on a class action suit is it should happen

Follow up - to Buyer Beware!
Amazon.com replied to my attorney's Demand Letter, stating that they have filed lawsuits against Amazon Digital Pro which forced them to take down their website. Now, there is no recourse for those of us who are trying to obtain a refund. So, Amazon allowed them to operate on their website and simply walked away, hanging us out to dry. The lawsuits quoted are: 2:05-mc-02025; 5:23-cv-00650-FL; 1:23-mi-99999-una and 2:23-at-99911. I reached out to the Florida's State Attorney's Office to prosecute either or both companies under Florida's Deceptive and Unfair Practices Law. They are very interested in all complaints against Amazon Digital Pro and are considering a Class Action Lawsuit. I encourage all Florida Residents to contact the State Attorney's Office and for Residents of every other state to contact their Attorney General. Justice shall prevail if we stay vigilant and fight against this injustice.

Amazon Digital Pro is Fraudulent. They used deception, and gained my Elderly.. Disabled.. Moms trust, and confidence to obtain 1,500.00 for Services Not Rendered. Amazon Digital Pro is NOT Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP). Go directly to Bowker or the official page of KDP for All your publishing needs. Please don’t waste your Time, Energy, and Money on Amazon Digital Pro No matter how Convincing they sound.

Update. I filed a General Consumer Complaint with the Attorney General Office in the State of ILLINOIS July of 2024. The Attorney General’s Office sent me a email today
9-3-24 letting me know they have forwarded a copy of my Complaint to Amazon Digital Pro for its review and response. They explained to me in the email that Amazon Digital Pro may contact me with a possible settlement after receiving there letter. They also explained to me in the email this is an Informal Mediation and they are unable to represent private citizens in legal disputes. I Encourage everyone who was taking advantage of by this Fraudulent Company to File a complaint with the Attorney General’s Office in there State. I will keep everyone posted on the outcome of this process. Thank You. 9-4-24.

If there were a way to give less than 1 star I would. This is by far, the worst company out there. They change their company name as there ratings fall and believe me, they fall for very good reasons. I seriously doubt any star rating over a 1 is even real. Jeff Cox was the name of my representative. There is no way that's even his real name. He's clearly Indian. They will all use fictional names and try everything possible to get you to pay more money. Don't fall for it! Don't get involved with them at all. I'm on a quest to find out what the new company name is, so I can warn others and contact the attorney General to close them down. They will NOT deliver on any promise, no matter how much you've paid. Their incompetence in the entire process can't be explained in mere words. There are no words strong enough to explain their lack of business sense, abilities, or honesty. They will lie where the truth would fit the best. AVOID THEM AT ALL COST!!!

Does anyone have an idea about how to recover money paid to this company when NO product or service was delivered?

When I signed their contract and made the first payment I believed I was doing business with Amazon, as I have done for many years. ADP is intentionally deceptive. Is there anyway to stop
them from continuing to deceive others?

I contracted with this company in February of 2023. It was to be a 4 month project. It is now April 2024 and this project is yet to be completed. I love the book and design- but still waiting on audiobook and free books and more marketing as contracted. I have had over 5 Project coordinators and have all been great until there were issues then i was pawned off to another project coordinator. This one has ghosted me. I have called and he is always "in a meeting". I email him and he reads but rarely responds. I have sent emails to the company and now they are not responding. I was promised an ROI but I have spent thousands of dollars and have only seen 1% ROI. I will be happy to revise this review if I get a call back and my work completed. so frustrating. Now I am afraid the company is out of business and I will not be able to recoup my losses.

ADP receives 1 star for finally publishing my book, Macaw Becomes a Rainbow, but only after publishing what was to be a children's book in English and Spanish as two separate books, and it took several email complaints for them to correct the error. ADP receives the second star for finishing the Website, but only after several months of anguish and emails about the product. From start to finish, the publishing process was aggravating, complete with bait-and-switch tactics, and much higher costs than anticipated such that I'll never recoup my expenses, even if the book sells well.
The initial cost was quoted as $1199. Then they required $4200 more to finish the job which was to include an online video, etc. They told me, none of this was covered in the original $1199. I had no choice if I wanted the book printed.
Then they wanted $4000 more to make a 1-minute video rather than the 30-second one (I declined).
Then they wanted $499 more to manage and monitor the Website for 3 years, a cost that I thought was covered in the $4200 which they said only covered 30-days.
I don't know how others here received 4 & 5 star service. Two stars is generous for the amount of aggravation I endured during the months-long process.
The final rub was they would not send books to Barnes & Noble unless B&N sent them a W-9 form for me. I'm not a B&N employee! So B&N doesn't have my books for sale.
If you want to self-publish, do not use ADP (B&N's service might be better). I'm done with ADP.
Fortunately a major university press now has two of my academic books in press.
Update 12/8/2023: I have received several small royalty checks this year. One further problem is that ADP does not itemize the royalties. I have no idea which of my books has sold, so I cannot check whether the royalty amounts are correct. Just one more reason not to use this publisher.
Update 12/31/2023: I would now reduce my rating to 1 star. I went to my Website, and when I clicked on the image of Macaw Becomes a Rainbow, books by B.E. Themeson fill the screen!!! And bookstores such as Barnes & Noble still are unable to order this or any of my books from Amazon. Overall, a terrible experience becomes worse.
Update 1/8/2024: My experience with Amazon Digital Pro continues to worsen. I would now rate them as minus 10 it I could. I emailed Max Rogers, my supposed ADP rep who job it is, in part, to remedy problems such as another author's books being on my website. Nothing has been corrected, and he didn't bother to reply. This is my last update. Deal with Amazon Digital Pro at your own risk.
5/30/2024: I thought I would have nothing more to write about Kindle Direct Publishing, but they keep doing bad things. I paid for them to create my Website -- jonathanereyman.com -- and to host it for three years. After about 18 months, they've shut it down and removed it from the Web. I wish I had deep pockets and could sue these lying, cheating bastatrds, but I don't want to spend more on what is a hopeless cause. I'm not Don Quixote.

Some things went okay. Other times not so much. I could have used a lot more clarity on the process. The reps were at times evasive and even deceitful. And now the emails for my contact people are all returned as "undeliverable".

The company didn't know the difference between line edits, copy edits, and ghostwriting. At one point they sent me someone else's manuscript. They said they refunded me, but I have yet to get a penny back.

Thanks to Amazon Digital Pro, getting my book out into the world was a breeze. I was also very please with the quality of the formatting and proofreading services I received. Definitely something you should look into!

Through the project, the team was very helpful. They kept us up to date on every step of the process and openly absorbed our feedback. Working with professional people was a fantastic experience overall. Working with these kinds of professionals has always been a pleasure.
