I'm not somebody who regularly writes reviews, but in this case I believe that AlternativeEnergy deserve credit for the work which they completed for us in June this year.

A solar install is a considerable investment, so we had several companies call out to our house to provide a quotation. Many of these seemed to be more interested in getting the job quoted as quickly as possible instead of really working with us to understand our requirements and how best they could be met. We were reassured by the approach which Jerome and Ronan took on their initial visit, they listened carefully and provided practical advice in terms of system capacity, benefits and cost of adding a battery and optimizers and the how the wiring could be routed within the house. They provided a competitive quotation, so we decided to award them the contract.

The system was 25x 430w Jinko solar panels, 8KW Huawei 3 phase inverter and a 15kw Huawei 3 module battery. The solar panels were installed in two days, very neat job - the roofers cleaned up after themselves. The inverter, battery and associated switches, etc were installed in another couple of days, so all up the job took 4 days to complete. Jerome was very responsive to tweaking our design, we added an extra panel to improve how the array looked in the front of our house on the day of the install. We also added an extra 5kW battery module, which was paid for by the drop of VAT rate to zero for our job since it was originally quoted for in Feb. The electricians were happy to take feedback on battery and switch placement, cable routing, etc so we ended up with a system which is really neat and tidy.

The SEAI carried out an inspection after the install (we were chosen at random) and the inspector commented that the system was really well installed. Since the initial commissioning has been completed the system has run without any issues, our house has imported very little power from the grid, using the battery to serve our power demand in the evening/night time. The full PV grant was paid out by the SEAI recently without any issues, thanks to all the work which Corinna put into diligently preparing and submitting all the documentation required.

All up a truly 5 star experience!

Excellent company to deal with

Fantastic service from beginning to end. We sent out for quite a few quotes and AE were one of only two to visit our house while others just quoted from their desktop. John the rep went through everything with us and explained what we needed and didn't.

The panels were installed about 10 weeks from payment of the deposit and were wired up the following week. There were two issues, the CT clamps were the wrong way around and the inverter was positioned a few cm to close to the ceiling. Upon speaking with Jerome a technician was on-site the following day and corrected it.

Easily the best contractors I've ever had work for me. From the first meeting with sales through to installation, connection and handover, I've found them to be the most professional, helpful and friendly staff I've ever dealt with.

We had panels, an Eddi and a home car charger fitted 2-months ago and they are performing better than we ever imagined. The fitting crew and electricians worked quickly and efficiently (in some awful weather) and we were up and running in no time. Jerome called to review the work and finetune some connectivity issues. Our only regret is we didn't get the panels installed sooner

This company was recommended to me by my son-in-law for whom they had already done an excellent job.
I made direct contact with the main man Jerome Carlin in October 2022. The company sent me on a menu of options from which to choose.
I opted for the middle of the price range which consisted of 10 420w Huawei panels along with a Huawei inverter.
The work was carried out by two teams. The first three man team installed the panels in an impressive 5 hours. The second separate three man team did all the electrics in a day a few weeks later.
I was very impressed with the workmanship in both cases. It was of the highest order and the chaps involved were a pleasure to deal with.
All the paperwork including assistance with grant application was carried out with efficiency by Corinna in the back office.
I would have no hesitation in recommending alternativeenergy.ie to install and commission solar panels. In fact a friend of mine has already gone with them on my recommendation.
In summary they are a very professional company to deal with and don't engage in hard selling like some of their competitors.

Got quotes from number of installers before deciding on Alternative Energy. Why? Because they gave me a quote based on roof space available and compatible with SEAI, and not based on my annual usage as others had done. On discussing it with them, everything was explained and they also gave me the option of ground mounting some panels. Went with 8 roof mounted panels and 6 ground mounted, and 4.8k battery. Quote was the most competitive. Installed mid September over 2 days. Roofers one day, electricians the next day. Very very tidy workmanship. Roofers even replaced 2 broken slates before they even started. Electrical install very tidy too. No waste or rubbish left after install, everything cleaned up and left tidy. Installed mid Sept, and very happy with system. One two small issues/queries post installation tidied up without hesitation by Jerome.
Overall, very happy with pv install, (why didn't I do it years ago). Would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Alternative Energy - price good, work very good, support very good, all documentation submitted promptly to SEAI for grant processing. Copies of all documentation given to me too.
Start to finish, Alternative Energy were very easy to deal with.
