Poor customer care

The quality is big only facilities. Training and quality of customer facing staff is very important . I visited Birmingham Aloft and left a phone charger in the wall. Called back next day and was advised to send an email . No response . Even if nothing was found, which is not possible , it would be nice to reply . Was the charger taken by the staff? Or did they forget to answer ? In any case - poor experience

Personally wouldn’t bother for the…

Personally wouldn’t bother for the price you pay it’s shocking. We booked 4 rooms for 8 people for a hen weekend upon arriving we entered one room which smelt of pure smoke, the receptionist came up and moved two people room. The rest of the party arrived a couple hours later to find in two rooms stained dirty pillows and little curly hairs in the sheets. We told reception they offered to change the sheets, when the guy came up he inspected the sheets and tried to just brush the hair off and say it was fine but there was more. He then changed them eventually and got us to ‘inspect’ to make sure they were up to our ‘standards’ yet any hotel you stay in a minimum expectation is that it is clean. As a resolution they offered one room out of the 3 that was dirty a free drink which caused a discussion as they said it’s there discretion who they offer a goodwill gesture too. Later that evening at 7.30 we were booked in for an evening meal, after flagging down staff in a restaurant with 4 other guests inside we got served at 7.45 and offered drinks and to pick what we want. Our drinks turned up at 8.20pm, half hour later our starters arrived for the garlic breads to be burnt crisp, the bread Baton on some to be hard stale and them to miss a starter. Didn’t even bother apologising for the error just carried on serving everyone else when we asked said they were preparing it which turned up 15 minutes later. Main meals were fine nothing anyone would die to eat again but was standard. The bar took us 15 mins to get a drink. When the bar maid brought over drinks she dropped the tray dropping and smashing a glass on the back of my chair which I wore the drink inside. We then had a discussion about the offer we booked under as it said Prosecco or wine but wasn’t a choice of Prosecco then it changed from a bottle per room to a glass which came and was no more than a taster. After our mains it took a further 15 minutes for someone to come to take pudding orders for them to turn up at 9.40pm- the custard was cold on the 3 puddings, the lemon slice and compot was style frozen solid. We called over staff and they got the manager that was about as much use as a chocolate teapot- he said we will retrain staff just uhmed and ahhed to then plod off to go and serve some other guys that must have been so much more important than our concerns. Not a single worker at that point was left in our area despite no one sitting with drinks in front of them still waiting someone to fix our puddings. When we left they were all huddled outside the restaurant in the drinks area chatting and staring at us all as we left which was very uncomfortable and rude to then all scamper back inside the restaurant. We later spoke to the receptionist and she greatly apologised and was astounded that the managers hadn’t offered a resolution considering we’d each paid £150+ for our rooms and service and the whole experience was shocking- she even directed us to a local bar because there’s were that slow, rude and disinterested in service. While there and chatting about it all a black guy and the blonde foreign lady stood at reception kept turning there backs to talk, stand and face us and start laughing and sniggering. Besides the black lady that was upon front desk there was not a single polite person working within the whole building, no one seemed to know what to do with themselves or even how to the job- the rooms were a joke and in fact we all sat there and wished we’d booked a premier for nowhere near the amount of price and found excursions from there. Unfortunately it was a hen weekend and we were looking for a bit of luxury for the bride to be as her last outing and it left her disappointed and upset as it was due to be a good weekend away and she has spent most of it having an absolute shambles of a time.

System Failure then Success

**Updated** I was finally able to communicate with the AGM and the refund was completed. I am upping the review to 4-stars as I like this hotel for it's location and casual vibe.

**Original** I have had 2 stays at Aloft Tallahassee. The hotel is fine, but after one of eight room nights was cancelled from the recent stay, I still have not gotten the refund I was told HAD been processed, and it is 2 weeks on. I know systems can be slow, but I'm guessing this simply won't happen. Not sure if I was mislead or a mistake was made, but another example of the cascade of system failures I have experienced recently. Becoming an all-too-familiar theme.

You’d be better off camping under Interstate 35.

Downtown Ft Worth is full of great hotels but this place is a scam.
Reserved a suite but upon arriving was informed there wasn’t one actually available.
Was offered much smaller regular room - for the same price as the suite.
No discount or discussion - take it or leave it.
Then, miraculously, a “forgotten” wheelchair accessible suite became available.
However once checked in, at said “suite” turn out to be regular room, plus the toilet soon stopped working.
Front desk personal is rude. I asked to speak to a manager, she was not available till next morning.
Did meet another guest in elevator who told me the same suite/room scam had been pulled in them earlier in the day, so I guess it’s a commonplace
routine.
19 floors, 180 rooms and only one! elevator works. It can take 20 minutes to get in.
