Alaska Airlines delayed my flight every time
Alaska Airlines delayed my flight, causing me to miss my connection and arrive over 4 hours late. I arrived at the airport at 11 AM, and it was clear the delay was known well in advance, yet no effort was made to rebook me on another flight or provide any compensation. The lack of communication and support was unacceptable. Unfortunately, this has been a repeated issue with Alaska, not a one-time occurrence. Would not recommend based on reliability and customer service.

I was calling because I can’t get into my account. Everything was fine in August but now they have all my information wrong. PO Box from 16 years age as my address. Rewards # doesn’t work.

Poor communication about delays, rude airport employees
My flight was delayed until late in the evening out of a smaller airport. This airport has about 2 gates and so generally people do not arrive 2 hours in advance. One would assume you are advised the flight is delayed so you can show up on time for it. Otherwise, why would you even notify people? Even though I arrived 90 minutes in advance the TSA security had closed. There was no notification that I needed to show up at the original flight time or I wouldn’t be able to get through TSA. Employees at Redmond airport were rude and unhelpful, insisting I had to call Alaska to rebook my flight.
worst airlines and worst customer service
I would have given them a 0 stars but I cant. This company has taken my years of earningpoints and reset it to zero when switched to their new rewards program. These robots are so bad at communicating I cannot get a real agent to help me. Additionally, they made me pay for checked baggage when it should have been waved since I am flying within the state.

Alaska has really gone down hill since becoming Atmos and merging with Hawaiian. The quality and service of Hawaiian Airlines is noticeably degraded. The Atmos app is glitchy and inaccurate, and calling is a nightmare. Typical of the abysmal state of the American airline industry.

This is more about DFW lack of workers to check us and our bags in at the gate. We come early so we can have a relaxing time and not stress about going through security and no one is there to take the bags. We can tag our bags- but there was no place to leave them or person to leave them with. I have been standing here for over an hour and there is a sign that says they will be here two hours before take off- and we will still have to go through security after this and then find my gate. I was hoping to have a relaxing lunch - but that won’t happen. I will not use Alaska again when coming to Dallas. Hire more workers and change your policy Alaska!!
Terrible customer service
Awful company that just take your money! Haven't even had the chance to take a flight with them.
Booked a flight which we had to change due to a connecting flight changing their schedule.
They then couldn't provide us with the second flight we booked as they no longer fly direct to LA and refunded it as a credit to an account which we will never be able to use as we live in the UK and it only has a few months on it.
I have looked and they could not have provided the original flight we booked either, refused to give my money back and had the cheek to say hope you will fly with us in the future!! Ha ha no thanks!

Absolutely horrible experience during a snow storm march 13,2026., almost every Alaskan flight was canceled due to bs reasons. Literally all other airlines were operating fine but for whatever reason Alaskan couldn't de ice their planes effectively. Every person from EVERY canceled flight concentrated one ONE customer service desk. I was in the line for 7 flucking hours. Alaskan didn't hand out food, water, bring on more people to help accelerate the process. NOTHING. I will NEVER use them for flying again.
Their car rental company scammed us
The short version is we linked from our Alaska Airlines app to their car rental to rent a car using solely miles. When I received a notice that they used my 55,600 miles plus took $500+ from my Alaska credit card. We thought we were scammed so we called to cancel it, which they said they woyuld cancel it. We used a different car rental place to rent a car. Later we find out they didn't cancel it and they won't refund either the money or the miles. I submitted a complaint through their "Alaska Listens" site with no response. I submitted a complaint through the BBB. BBB said they never responded and noted they have a terrible rating. Next step is to cancel their credit card I guess.
Don’t check your hand luggage if your flight is cancelled consider going to main terminal as there are more staff to help with onward plans
Sat on plane on runway for 1:30 before being deposited back in the departure lounge. They had asked for bags to be checked as the flight was busy, however lots of space on board but I stupidly helped out. This seems to be a thing with Alaska/ Air Canada and when you get into the plane there is loads of space. On returning to departure lounge we were given little information but at this point we could have booked into earlier flights perhaps even made it to los cobos via other airlines that day by flying to other airports and getting a connection there. Atfer 2 hours they announced they had sent vouchers to passengers via email /app but I had to go to the desk to ask for mine. They gave us 12 dollars in vouchers for 2 people (perhaps it was meant to be double as they were much more generous later) We bought a bottle of water a small sandwich. Flight was cancelled around 4 hours after we were due to fly - they must have known this outcome prior to this as the crew had gone over their flight time. This started a free for all as passengers tried to talk to departure staff to book other flights get refunds but with only two staff to help the queues were massive. Why didn’t they bring alternative staff in or have plans for passengers. After 45 mins I went to collect the bags and luckily I was able to talk to reservations in the main terminal area. We ended up spending another 5 hours in the airport before being flown to Portland and put in a hotel to be flown to our destination early the following morning but that meant we had lost the best part of 2 days. If we had been told earlier we might have got onto earlier flights instead of arriving after midnight to return to the airport for 4:30 that morning. They did provide some vouchers for food at that point 84 dollars to cover evening and breakfast I assume? (well done and thanks to Katrina for sorting me out and I think around10/12 others we recognised from the queue followed our route ) I emailed a complaint but have been told it will take 7-10 days to process. When we arrived the next day we went to our hotel to be told the room was no longer available. We showed them the email trail but they had no space! We spent the next couple of hours chasing around los cobos for a place to stay. We did find somewhere but it was more expensive! Why didn’t Alaska just email compensation form they had our email and app logged the trip, this should be a aviation standard so companies have to abide by the refs for a particular country. Perhaps the will surprise me and be in touch tomorrow if they do I’ll post the outcome. Case no cn****7223

Deceptive Business
I chose the "Saver" option. During checkout it asked me to upgrade for $57 to choose my seat.
I chose an aisle seat, it showed 31C in my confirmation. When checking in my seat was changed to a center seat 28E. A middle seat.
I could have got that crappy seat without upgrading. When I complained they said even if you upgrade no seats are guaranteed. So what’s the point? 🤡
Flight Delay - VERY Fair Treatment
My wife and I flew from Oklahoma City to Kauai. The return flight was delayed due to a mechanical issue. While the delay was frustrating, I certainly don't want any airline to take off in a plane that's not perfect. Without getting into exact nu.bers, Alaska gave us certificates towards future flights and refunded a portion of our initial reservation cost due to having to fly a different class on our return flight. Bottom line, there was a delay but Alaska treated us VERY fairly and that's all we could ask.

DO NOT FLY WITH ALASKA AIRLINES! I was planning on traveling to Mexico for my cousins wedding. Unfortunately, they had to cancel it about 5 days before the wedding date. I called to see about getting some kind of refund or credit, but they said that they “can’t give me anything” because of the type of ticket I purchased. I even asked if the reason for my cancellation would make a difference or not and they said no! An airline that happily takes/keeps your money from you when you have a perfectly valid reason for cancelling is not an airline, it is a SCAM! That is NOT how you conduct business (not an ethical business at least).

I travel with Alaska because of location and I am the highest loyalty tier they have of over 150,000 actual miles a year and have been a member since 1986.
Overall, I do love the airlines, but they have lost their loyalty to their loyal customers. They have made it hard to reach and maintain tiers, but the worst part is that even with their highest tier, the benefits are poor compared to the past. Particularly that they sell their first class seats until time of flight and have no regard for their most loyal customers. In the past, they would upgrade you days before the flight, but now it is just about the money.
Overall Pleasent experience
I've been flying with this airline since the twenty-tens and have yet to experience in dissatisfaction with their customer service quality.
Their ground staff (check-in and gate agents) have always been very pleasant to deal with, as have their flight crews. I've had the experience of receiving excellent service in both first class and economy(cattle-car). I can't for the life of me understand why certain people nitpick every aspect of life to pieces.

I travel a lot through different airlines but this one for sure I won’t forget and I will never again fly with Alaska Airlines. While entering the airplane they stopped us and told me I cannot have handbag, backpack along with carryon. It was a small backpack and my handbag where I had my medicine. The staff made me to consolidate the bags from which my high blood pressure went up and brought so much stress that I never experienced. Such a rude and unbearable stuff. I was flying from Ny to LA

The app has always been unstable, losing important, relevant information loaded by the customer.
We went to Hawaii some legs of the flight were operated by Hawaiian (10 times worse than Alaska). We could not get our electronic boarding passes since the apps did not talk to each other. This resulted in unnecessary anxiety since we couldn’t see the flights, seats, changes ahead of time. Hawaiian said “you cannot check in until you purchase flight”. WHATTTT? Nobody could help because there is ni Hawaiian in GTF, SLC or SF.
Alaska gate agents in SF were rude! Customer care in Sea-Tac as well. I wrote a complaint 5 days ago. Has not received any answer yet.
(For the sake of comparison, when I wrote a complaint to Delta, I received an answer within an hour plus 3,000 miles for the inconvenience).
Their link /customercare leads nowhere.
The only positive thing is flight WiFi, though the movie/series selection sucks.
