Thank you, we share your frustration with the taxes and wish they weren't a thing. Very glad it arrived quickly and was useful.
Does the Job
Good tool, clear instructions. Now my Voigtländer 21/3.5 and 90/2.8 are no longer mystery lenses in Lightroom.

Leica lens index coding template and pens worked great. Simple and easy to use. Have not had to reapply ink yet.

Great to hear, usually the ink will remain for a long time. Personally I've had coded lenses last years with Voigtlander, there's a very slight gully which protects the ink from being removed.
Excellent product and Service!!
Excellent product and Service!!
Being able to add the 6 bit Leica code to older lenses or lenses from other producers is a big step to ease of use and peace of mind.
I advise the product for anybody using a Leica M camera that reads the 6 bit codes.

Works beautifully
Works beautifully. Makes changing lenses faster without having to input the lens change into the camera body. The first jig got lost in the mail and the company got another one to me quickly. Appreciate the nice people there! Thank you Henley. Very happy.

Thank you, we try to price fairly to make it worth our efforts while being reasonable for the customer, as we believe good business should be.
We avoid applying 'Leica Tax' and also attempt to make things as straight-forward, thoughtful and as quick to use as possible.

That's great to hear, thank you for taking the time to leave a review. It's appreciated.
Recommend but with one flaw.
Firstly, the first order I made didn't arrive because of some trouble with my DHL person. So I contacted Akara-Labs, and they sent a second unit to me right away. They knew of the problems with the German postal service. When it arrived, it worked perfectly, and I coded my lenses all at once. It was nice that the package contained a list with the corresponding Leica and Voigtländer or Zeiss lenses.
The one flaw I might have discovered for me is, that now that I have coded my lenses, the tool is mostly useless. I mean, I probably need to do it again in the future, but for now, it's just collecting dust on my desk.
But it's a well-made tool, and I would recommend it to everyone who wants to use its third-party lenses without having to change the lenses in the camera all the time.

Thanks for your review and that's true, now they're coded I suppose for the most part it's useless until GAS comes along and another lens arrives in the post. :)
The ink also may not last forever, it's just the nature of this solution that eventually there's a chance that the ink may be rubbed off.
Saying that: 10 seconds later with the coder you're back in action so it's worth keeping in the camera bag, just in case!
The 6-Bit lens coder worked very well.
The lens coder worked very well, my Leica M240 and M262 read my now 6-bit coded lens perfectly. The only problem was the black pen provided did not fit into the stencil cut-out and eventually the pen tip became useless.

Thanks for your review and the information about the pen. We will note your experience and if we find others with the same issue then it's good to know that we have data to draw from and we can look in to what the cause/solution may be. Glad you're up and running.

Arrived quickly and worked like a charm -especially with my Voigtlanders. My Leica 50mm Summicron worked great at first but needs to be reapplied as the marks wore off due to the flat mounting surface -which is to be expected. I originally purchased this to keep better track of exif data and to benefit from built in lens profiles in the M10. However, I recently set the M10 to 1/4f to keep the shutter speed up while shooting and the 6 bit coding makes this doable when changing lenses multiple times/day -cool!

That's great to hear it's helping out. Some lenses tolerances can be very tight and therefore the ink can be rubbed off more quickly than other lenses. A very thin clear coat might be an option to protect the ink and make it last a little longer on that particular lens perhaps.

The Amara Labs 6Bit coder is exactly as advertised. My 3 Voigtlander lenses are now coded and this makes my photography experience so much better. Once the code is applied by the proper black ink marker, my Leica was able to recognize the lens. Great product.

Thanks for your review, we've had one other person mention the black pen being too thick, I wonder if we received a batch of pens with a slightly thicker nib than usual. We will investigate, thank you.
