Horrible airline
Horrible airline, cramped seats so very little airspace. The blanket smelt of old feet. The food was beyond atrocious so ate nothing .
Bad beer, worse wine
China is not known for its beers. On the Air China flights, the beer they serve is bad even by Chinese standard! Awful taste.
Can't you serve the BEST Chinese beer to impress us?
The wine is even worse than the beer. I don't see anyone drinking it. Apparently, even water tastes better than the wine they serve!
Chinese food is world famous. Why don't you serve us some decent Chinese food? Instead, the food is totally uninspiring and flavourless.
The only good thing is that Air China does the most direct route from London to Beijing, through Russia. On this the Western airlines can't compete.

No touch screen system you gotta hassle with the little remote and the arrow

For a Return Flight Sydney to Rome I paid $4900 choosing a refundable flexible rate
Ones arrived in Rome I called to cancel the return flight not go through the struggle again and they offered me a refund of $200 saying the first trip was the most è expensive + they had to deduct tax.

Lasst auf alle Fälle die Finger von dieser Airline. Habe gar keine guten Erfahrungen mit gemacht. Das Essen schmeckt nach nichts. Personal kümmert sich nicht um Probleme und ich bin froh, dass wir überhaupt gut gelandet sind. Die Leute im Flieger haben null Respekt vor anderen. Alles wird von allen ignoriert und man muss alles ertragen, als wäre es nichts. Nie wieder!!!!
Much better than expected
My experience of traveling is nearly 100 international flights mainly to South East Asia , I was honestly dreading using china air . I found them to be very punctual and the customer service was ok and the standard of English and customer service was equal to my other trips and the food was comparable to my other trips only down side was they treat giving you alcohol to giving away a national treasure
Excellent flight
Problem with checking in on the website but when I phoned them they confirmed I could check in at the airport which was not a problem at all.
The actual flight was excellent and on time. The flight attendants were very friendly and extremely efficient.
Would certainly fly with them again.

All’andata una valigia non è arrivata ed è stata consegnata solo il giorno dopo.
Al ritorno a Phuket: avevamo pagato 4 bagagli da 23 kg ma viaggiavamo con 2 colli (uno da 26 kg e uno da 14 kg, quindi ampiamente entro il totale consentito).
Nonostante questo, ci hanno chiesto 1325 THB SOLO in contanti (!), senza possibilità di pagare con carta.
Non avendo contanti siamo stati costretti ad aprire bagagli già imballati e togliere oggetti (una guida e un regalo); a quel punto la valigia è stata accettata comunque intorno ai 24 kg.
Nessuna flessibilità, atteggiamento sgradevole (3 operatori contro di noi), esperienza molto stressante.
Incoerente anche perché all’andata la stessa configurazione era stata accettata senza problemi.
In volo, inoltre, 3 schermi su 4 non funzionavano e il voucher digitale proposto era inutilizzabile senza Wi-Fi.
Ho inviato un reclamo ufficiale e sono in attesa di una risposta.

Wir hatten eine längere Strecke zu fliegen. BKK über Peking nach Frankfurt. In allen 4 Flugzeugen (Hin- und Rückflug) waren die Monitore nicht mehr "berührungsempfindlich", das Infotaimentsystem funktionierte nach eigenen Regeln- also nur bedingt.
In BKK gab es Verzögerungen weil das Personal mindestens 3 mal mit einem Zähler durch die Gänge lief und die Personen nachzählte. In Peking dann nochmal Sicherheitscheck (bei dem ein Gasfeuerzeug und eine Powerbank (def kleiner als die erlaubte Größe) eingezogen wurden. Der Beamte der die Passkontrolle durchführte verdrehte (gegen 9:30) die Augen vor Müdigkeit und gähnte andauernd. Zum Glück haben wir den Anschlussflug geschafft. Was eine Woche vorher wohl nicht so war, wie Mitflieger berichteten.. (trotz 2:30 Stunden Aufenthalt).
Im Flugzeug dann so kalt, dass alle Passagiere "gefroren" haben. Das Personal hat dann zusätzliche Decken verteilt. Fliegt air China mit defekter Heizung los?? Mit was für Kisten sind wir da geflogen??? Es war wirklich arschkalt. Und allen Mitfliegenden war es zu kalt... Für mich als Fazit: nach Thailand, oder zurück - nie wieder über China und nie wieder air China.
Nachtrag: die monierte Powerbank wurde vorher bei 5 Sicherheitskontrollen weder in Deutschland, weder in Ägypten, weder in Thailand noch beim Hinflug (mit erneutem Sicherheitscheck in Peking beanstandet. Hat ein Geschmäckle.. Achso- natürlich war die Powerbank ..made in China

I would like to inform you of a particularly unpleasant experience at Milan Malpensa Airport by Air China.
We had booked a flight with Air China from Haikou via Chengdu Tianfu International to Brussels on Sunday, March 29. This flight was cancelled due to a problem with the first connecting flight. Subsequently, Air China offered us an alternative on Monday, March 30, with a route from Chengdu to Brussels via Milan Malpensa. The second part of the journey, from Milan to Brussels, was to be operated by Brussels Airlines. Our baggage was to be forwarded directly to Brussels.
Upon arrival in Milan and during check-in for the flight to Brussels, however, it turned out that our names were not on the passenger list. We were referred to the Air China counter. Initially, a new flight was proposed to us there, but shortly afterwards a manager intervened who indicated that we should book a new flight ourselves and reclaim the costs afterwards in China.
Despite the fact that the error was entirely Air China's fault, all further assistance was refused. I have never experienced such handling at any airport before and I consider this highly unprofessional and customer-unfriendly.
I consider it important to bring this to your attention and hope that this situation will be taken seriously and followed up.

Wir sind am 17.03.26 mit Air China von Phuket über Peking nach München geflogen. Die Flugzeuge waren alt und abgefackt. Eine Business Class aus dem vorherigen Jahrhundert. Das Personal war der englischen Sprache nur bedingt mächtig und war sehr unorganisiert. Das Essen war eher ein Fraß und kaum genießbar. Der Service unterirdisch schlecht.Das „allerbeste „war die Zwischenlandung in Peking, beim nochmaligen Security Check bevor man in den Flughafen kam, war das Security Personal so was von unfreundlich, das hab ich noch nirgendwo erlebt. Also mit dieser Airline nie wieder und ich würde sie auch keinem empfehlen .

Aufgabegepäck Koffer auf dem Hinflug zerstört, war gezwungen einen neuen zu kaufen.
Zeitplanung bei den zwischenflügen, katastrophal wir sind durch den Flughafen gelaufen, mit Kleinkind und Bodenpersonal und mehr oder weniger gerade noch in den bereiten Flieger zu springen.
Entspannung geht anders.

Took a 11-12 hour flight from London Heathrow to Chongqing. Check in was smooth in London. Flight was uncomfortable but most flights that long in economy probably are. The seats do go considerably low but it was hard for me to find a comfortable way to sleep I probably woke up every hour.
In-flight entertainment was fine, a lot of chinese movies and a smaller amount of hollywood blockbusters. Had both Spiderverse movies so I was occupied for like four hours, they also had Lego Batman and HTTYD so ik what I’m watching on the flight home.
The staff were nice, food was not the best but the dessert options were yum.
We did run into some issues at Chongqing. Bought some duty free alcohol at Heathrow but we missed the memo where it had to checked in before we could board a transfer flight to Kunming. Kinda assumed duty free meant duty free but China has such strict regulations we probably should’ve double checked. Had to check it in at the Airchina desk but only one checked in item per ticket so they needed to bring out our suitcase to put the alcohol in. There was chance they’d lose it and they said it wouldn’t be their responsibility if they did because they took it back out of storage, they didn’t luckily but what a faff.

I had a very bad experience with Air China.
I was flying from Japan to Geneva. During check-in, the staff first weighed my checked luggage, and everything was fine—it was under the 23 kg limit. Then the agent looked at my passport, and for some reason, decided to check my cabin luggage as well.
He asked me to put it on the scale and told me it weighed 10 kg, which he said was not allowed. I explained that there was no mention of a 5 kg limit when I booked my ticket through Trip.com. I even showed them proof, but they insisted it was their regulation.
They told me I had to reduce my cabin luggage to 5 kg immediately. I was very frustrated because if this rule had been clearly communicated beforehand, I could have prepared in advance. Instead, I had to reorganize everything at the airport under pressure, with little time before boarding.
It was a very stressful and embarrassing situation. I had to take items out of my bag in front of everyone, throw some things away, and try to rearrange everything like a puzzle just to meet the limit. It took me about 25 minutes.
Eventually, I managed to reduce my bag to 5 kg. After that, one of the staff members asked for my seat number, which I found strange.
Later, after passing security, I went to duty-free and bought a few items. While boarding the plane, the same staff approached me again. They took a picture of my luggage and said they wanted to check it again. I was shocked and asked why they were targeting me. I explained that I had only added duty-free items, which is normal.
I then asked them if they were checking other passengers as well. As soon as I questioned them, they stopped and said it was fine for me to board.
This made me feel like I was being singled out unfairly. Later, on the plane, I spoke with some Australian passengers and asked if their cabin luggage had been checked. They said no, which reinforced my feeling that I was being targeted.
Overall, I felt harassed and extremely uncomfortable during this experience. I am planning to file a formal complaint, as I still have all the flight details, including the date (February 22), flight number, and time.

I bought a flight the only thing i got is the ticket number, because I made a screenshot at the payment page otherwise No mail received, No contact by phone, Nothing.
Then the flight changed deparure time twice and again, no contact at all.
It's like jumping in black water.
Do NOT pay for premium economy
Do NOT pay for premium economy. All you get extra onboard is a bit of space. You get the standard meals and the extremely limited drink service. We were offered 3 drinks on a ten hour flight, one of which was the tiniest cup of wine. We asked for another, we were told only water available.
2 means offered- bland - first meal was pork or beef and second was chicken or pork. Veggie meal might be your best option if your fussy, this was omelette both times (be sure to pre order it)
No eye mask / amenity kit.
On board entertainment pretty poor.
Website and app are a trial. Hard work. Not user friendly.
No email confirmation of my booking ever received.
Wouldn’t be my first choice. Budget airline dressed up as a national carrier

Se reputate la Ryanair una compagnia scadente la Air china é ancora peggio!!! Personale sgradevole, mai un sorriso, con quello che si pagano i biglietti dovrebbero per lo meno dare cose commestibili come pasto, non dico “Le grand Bouffet” ma almeno qualcosa di normale. Ho cambiato 4 compagnie aeree e ho viaggiato sempre con le stesse cose sta di fatto che questa compagnia mi ha sequestrato nella valigia da stiva materiali da sub (batterie per la torcia subacquea) senza ne avvisare ne chiedere il permesso solo ti lasciano un biglietto scritto in chinese perché l'inglese neanche lo sanno parlare. Sono dei gran maleducati!! Se potete evitate di viaggiare con questa compagnia che non sà neppure semplificare il check in on line e ti fanno perdere una marea di tempo allo sportello.

Stranded six thousand miles from home forced by the Iranian débâcle to fly Aiir China it's abundantly clear from my indelibly memorable 'experience' that all their personnel passionately dislike people and if only there were no passengers they'd be estatic. I'll spare you most of the specifics - unchecked filthy toilets over a twelve hour period but one of the many other complaints I could list - confining my plethora of general criticisms to adding that cabin crew came across as arrogant, rude, disdainful and dismissive; breathtakingly unhelpful too. We passengers help pay staff their salaries (never again in my case) which in turn fund the cost of putting clothes on their backs and food on the table. These facts matter nothing to them, they project an image of near total indifference:
● NB give 'em your dosh and they'll earn your wrath ●.

I’d give 0 if I could - lost my luggage refused to pay up anything close to the value of- despite demanding itemised list of contents date I purchased and individual value ( very time consuming to do) absolutely disgusting ignored any emails after it got to agreeing compensation . I would NEVER use this airline again
