Ailsa Black trained at Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen where she studied Graphic Design and Illustration. Today she works from a seaside studio in the tiny Scottish village of Carsethorn in Dumfries and Galloway. From her studio she observes and captures the daily comings and goings of village life. Today her art appears in galleries and on an extensive and growing range of gift ware available both in the UK and abroad. Ailsa has exhibited at the Royal Glasgow Institute and Paisley Art Institute. In 2017 she was listed as one of 25 top UK influential art brands to watch by a panel of over 200 retailers and business people by Licensing Biz. In 2018 her RSPB Year Planner was voted Best Charity Calendar in the UK Calendar Awards.

Have bought the Ailsa Black family planner calendar for the past few years now and it never fails to make me smile. Brilliant pictures,lovely little touches with the stickers and post it notes, and of course it's really useful throughout the year too!

The jigsaw arrived perfectly packed and in good time via Royal Mail (we were on holiday, so not exactly sure how long it took, but it was speedy despite the strikes). The product is exactly as described - can't wait to get started on it!

Beautiful cards. we received them very quickly and the wrapping is nicely done and loved the little note added to our delivery. the website is very easy to use too. But the cards are so different and unique. wonderful. difficult to choose as we loved them all so we ordered some of our favourite. Thank you. Christèle

Great to be able to go to the homely wee studio where Ailsa works her magic! I love the art Ailsa creates, it is fun, bright and represents Scottish scenes. Great for gift ideas and affordable.

Just received another wonderful print
Just received another wonderful print. We have been buying from Ailsa for a number of years. We first met her at a show during Spring Fling and instantly fell in love with the delightful images of this fascinating part of Scotland. It is easy to find your way around the website and feel affinity with the belties! The purchasing and delivery was extremely easy. Just need another significant birthday or event to look again.

In praise of Ailsa Black
My husband and I first became aware of Ailsa's work about 10 years ago and ordered some of her gorgeous mugs. Since that time we have ordered two prints, several packs of her card both for Christmas and general use and also commissioned two original paintings. Her products are fist class, arrive in a timely fashion, her communication during the commissioned pieces kept me well informed of progress. All in all a very good experience.

The service was exceptional. Even at Christmas my order arrived the next day with a delightful Christmas card from Aisla Black. The jigsaw is beautiful. Vibrant colours on good quality board. Very happy with my purchase and I would thoroughly recommend this seller.

Flutteries and Belties
I was looking for an artist from where I grew up in Dumfries & Galloway, for a special birthday gift for someone. I ordered a framed print from Ailsa Black - Flutteries and Belties - and it arrived really quickly, very well packaged, and with a lovely hand written thank you message in one of her cards. She also enclosed a blank Xmas card. What a lovely touch 😊.
Overall, super happy with the service and of course with the print which I want to keep for myself but I suppose I better gift it as intended!
