We did a combination Kenya and Uganda trip with the help of Candice Heckel from Africa Endeavours. The personal service on this trip blew our party of four 55-63 year olds away. We stayed at the Serian Nkorombo tented camp, then flew to Uganda. There we did chimp trekking and gorilla trekking. The tented camp was amazing as were our wildlife sightings with our driver and guide in Kenya. Then we stayed at the beautiful Kyaninga Lodge in Uganda where they personalized on-site activities and even meals for us. We had an entire lake to ourselves for kayaking, swimming and paddleboarding. Then we stayed at the Mahogany Springs lodge where our expert driver/guide (Denis) got us just the gorilla hiking experiences (2 days) that we wanted. Denis also adjusted our schedule as we wished once we were there to allow us even more customization. The guidance through customs and immigration in the airports was awesome and the all the food was amazing. In fact, all of the transfers, travels and check-ins were seamless. Thanks to Candice for making this all happen.

Laura Tober could not have put together a more spectacular vacation then our recent trip to South Africa. Started at the coast and the whales, then wine country, followed by 4 amazing days on safari. Hamilton tented camps did not disappoint, two daily trips in the bush finding all the big 5 plus a ton of wildlife, followed by amazing food and accommodations. It’s not a true safari unless your in a tented camp with all the luxury you could imagine, even your own pool….. with elephants walking by!

My girlfriend and I spent two weeks in Rwanda this past October. It was an amazing experience from beginning to end and we have Candice Heckel of Africa Endeavours to thank for that. Planning travel to Africa can be daunting in and of itself. Planning travel to Africa during a global pandemic presented a completely different set of challenges. We could not have asked for a better partner than Candice to tackle those challenges. Not having traveled outside of the US since 2019, we were anxious to get back on the travel "horse." After attending a virtual travel happy hour about Rwanda presented by Africa Endeavours in 2020, we were convinced that Rwanda would be the perfect destination for our next big trip. Our joint 50th birthdays in 2021 were yet another reason to go. Candice was extremely responsive, flexible, and patient with us as we worked with her to build and continually tweak our travel itinerary. She kept us up to date on the ever-changing travel guidelines and protocols as it related to COVID-19. Candice also helped calm our anxieties about traveling during such uncertain times. We were so glad to have trusted her judgment. Our time in Rwanda was nothing short of amazing. We had an incredible guide, Martin, who was with us the entire time. He was extremely knowledgeable, kind, and generous. The accommodations were luxurious beyond compare - especially the One&only at Nyungwe, which was perhaps the most special place we have ever stayed. Our itinerary was a wonderful mix of traditional safari experience, activity, relaxation, and culture, capped off by seeing the mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park. It's not often that an experience exceeds already lofty expectations. But the mountain gorillas did just that. In describing our trip, I would be remiss to not talk about the country of Rwanda which is absolutely beautiful. The people were warm and inviting. We felt extremely safe in general and especially from COVID-19 as Rwanda has done an amazing job handling the virus from the beginning. Rwanda is also perhaps the cleanest country we've ever seen. It was heartwarming to see how far Rwanda has come considering it has only been 27 years since the horrible genocide of 1994. Whether you are a veteran traveler to Africa or someone who is booking their first trip there, I can't recommend enough Rwanda as a destination and Candice Heckel as the person to help get you there.

We had a wonderful time in Africa for our honeymoon and couldn't be happier with Africa Endeavours! The entire AE team, especially Laura and Audra, were able to put together a one-of-a-kind itinerary with our input and interests in mind. They were continuously up-to-date about the ever-changing health, testing, and travel requirements for our trip across multiple countries. All of the details were taken care of beforehand so we could enjoy our relaxing honeymoon. Would highly recommend AE for future trips.

I had an excellent experience with a very big anniversary trip planned out for us immaculately to every single detail by our advisor Shannon. The trip was to Cairo, Kenya and Maldives for 3 weeks. The planning/itinerary/transfers/hotels/flights/excursions/what and how to pack ..and more, by Shannon was amazing and the end result was that my husband and I had the best travel experience and we felt like every moment was planned for us and we didn’t have to worry about a thing. I am very happy with this service and would use them again for sure.

I could not have asked for a better planning experience! I have never used a travel agent before, but it was the best money I spent and I will be coming back to Candice Heckel and Africa Endeavours for future travel plans! My fiance and I had to cancel and reschedule our wedding due to COVID-19, and have had to reschedule our dream honeymoon trip to Africa twice now. Although we have yet to actually take our trip, Candice has been incredibly helpful, understanding and accommodating to help us reschedule all of our plans. She had tons of great ideas and has put together an itinerary that we can't wait for!

My wife and I have been talking about a Safari forever. So this year for our 25th wedding anniversary, we decided to go! OF COURSE we would use Africa Endeavours. Corinne has planned two exceptional Australian vacations through Down Under Endeavours. The planning process is very personalized. Our family met with Corinne and Lauren a few times, and after some back and forth, we have the trip-of-a-lifetime planned for this June. She helped with airfare and was able to secure first class accommodations and transfers in South Africa (safari, wine experiences, zip lining, shark/cage diving).

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we are postponing a year. Corinne gave us all the facts on the situation in South Africa so we could make an informed decision. She is now in the process of securing our flights and accommodations for next year.

Throughout the experience, the African Endeavours team has taken great care of us, given us great guidance and is now making our change of date for our dream vacation seamless.

Laura, and the entire Africa Endeavours team are fantastic! They custom created our ideal experience, including an amazing safari and an unforgettable day tour of Johannesburg with further education on Apartheid. The thing that makes this group incredibly special is their kindness and care. We were abroad during the world's adjustment to Covid-19 in March. This meant uncertainty and a bit of fear involved in our travel, and the Africa Endeavours team made us feel safe and cared for and adjusted our experiences based on new information. They kept us in the loop on adjusting travel restrictions, and advised us on how to manage our return back to the states (even though the flights home were booked previous and separately - so kind!). I would highly recommend this detail focused caring group to anyone looking to experience authentic Africa! I look forward to working with them again as I return to Africa in the future.

We had an amazing trip to Kenya, Dubai, and the Maldives that was organized by Laura Tober of Africa Endeavors. Following our initial discussions about what we were interested in, Laura sent some links that we could peruse to decide on the specifics of our itinerary. Additionally, every destination we were visiting, Laura had been there herself, so had first hand knowledge which was very helpful. During the entire 3 weeks, every detail was taken care of and there were a few surprises that we were treated to compliments of Africa Endeavors that helped to make our trip extra special.

My wife and I just returned from an incredible honeymoon in Mozambique and South Africa. We worked with Laura at Africa Endeavours and we could not be more pleased. Thanks to Africa Endeavours for another amazing adventure! This was our second trip with them (3 years ago to South Africa & Mozambique--wow!) but we've also traveled 6 times with their sister company, Down Under Endeavours--they can't shake us:) The most recent trip, AE planned a perfect 3 weeks to Kenya & Tanzania for my group of 8 (September - October 2019).
This vacation was special, as we were celebrating my husband's 60th birthday. AE went good crazy to make this a more memorable celebration than I could have imagined. Our plan was to see and do and cover as much ground as possible. And how they delivered! There were ridiculous amounts of moving parts to this trip, and no details were overlooked. From the moment we landed in Nairobi, we were greeted, escorted, informed, and expertly guided by AE's local ground crew. We never worried about any logistics or what was next on our agenda. They took care of every detail.
The accommodations were all spectacular and offered such diversity. We left these choices up to the AE team and I'm so happy we did. We got to experience a 'Small Luxury Hotel of the World'; an over the top (no pun intended) tree house lodge overlooking a massive crater; a wildlife conservancy lodge doing absolutely incredible things to protect their resident wildlife; a swanky river lodge on the banks of the Mara River complete with boisterous hippos; a tent camp in remote Serengeti where they inexplicably and beautifully drop a 5-star experience in your lap; a private villa on the Kilimanjaro Golf & Wildlife Estate; and ending with a wonderfully remote beach & spa (daily treatment included!) resort on Pemba Island.
All of these places were breathtaking, but the real star of the AE show is all the surprises and extra, special touches that only AE can provide. Firstly, the timing they suggested for the Great Migration was absolutely spot on! The animal viewing simply could not have been better. Millions--and I do mean millions-- of animals and the private guides and vehicles made the experience even more enjoyable. While we weren't enjoying the ABUNDANT wildlife, AE had a few tricks up their sleeves and I'll share a 'few' examples. They arranged a private visit to an elephant orphanage/sanctuary where we could interact with these sweet, beautiful creatures--this is one of many conservation organizations AE supports. As such, they arranged for us to 'adopt' an orphaned elephant!; a private garden to plate lunch in the gardens of the conservancy prepared by the owner's family, it was incredible!; a surprise birthday sunset celebration on the Ngorongoro crater rim with drinks and appetizers and an impressive Maasai warrior traditional dance performed by a local tribe; following a round of golf, a surprise happy hour on an elevated tee box, enjoying sundowners and appetizers watching the sunset over Mt Kilimanjaro; dinner by tiki light on an Indian Ocean beach; game viewing from the 'Out of Africa' biplane followed by a surprise breakfast in the bush with camel rides; hot air ballooning followed by champagne breakfast; seafood dinner delivered to a floating cabin (with an underwater bedroom!) off the coast of Pemba Island. Oh, AND a private plane to travel between the remote airstrips!!!
If you have Africa on the brain, the folks at Africa Endeavours were absolutely delightful to work with and I'm always amazed by the product they deliver. I probably cried tears of awe every day on every trip they've designed for me. The memories they've helped me build will be ones I'll cherish for the rest of my days.

Everything was great from the very beginning. We were deciding between Australia, New Zealand and Africa for our honeymoon and Laura helped us narrow down our options with sample itineraries, and she took the time to get to know us and what we were looking for. We chose Africa and had an unbelievable time. Everything was coordinated and executed perfectly and according to our preferences. We stayed at some unbelievable lodges that we would have never found on our own and fell in love with our safari experience. We were planning a wedding at the same time and we only wish our wedding planner was as responsive, organized, and flexible as Laura. We are looking forward to our next trip!
