Amazing customer service and responsive to help!! Can’t wait to order more races from them!

I started Pacer because no other exercise app was doing the trick. I thought about another app but money doesn't really motivate me. However, pretty things and not wasting my money does LOL. Anyway I decided that I would try it for a year. Let's face it you never really know something works unless you commit to it seriously. So I decided to buy a medal for each month of the year and I opted not to receive that medal until I finish the challenge. This way, I get my pretty thing and I hold myself accountable for actually doing the task. And it's been working like a charm. Now the Nazca challenge was a little more challenging than I gave it credit for LOL. However, there is a disclosure that if you have difficulty with one of the challenges needed reset etc etc that the Pacer support team can help you. I don't check my email often. So, while I was looking for the contact information in one of my confirmation emails I just so happened to see that the Pacer support group proactively reached out to me to let me know that not only was I close to achieving my goal but they are willing to help me extend the time that I need to help me reach it. This floored me! I am not often impressed by customer service. But for me the price to sign up for a year is worth that type of service. Not only did I reply and follow the instructions. I was fully intending to wait the 48 hours they said it would take. It took the young lady less than 20 minutes to get back to me and extend my time so I can finish my challenge. Needless to say I'm very happy with my experience with Pacer. And I look forward to completing the rest of my challenges for the rest of the year and getting in shape in the process. I haven't even touched on the courses that you can take everyday and the accountability that it allows you to have for yourself with the weight ins and the community that it gives you access to. Great job!

The team behind The Pacer is beyond any compliment. They truly care about you getting your medal, in your country. The answers are fast and bring solutions. The medals are stunning, the app works.

Great support, intuitive interface & interesting challenges!

In January 2025, ads starting showing in my Instagram feed for physical medals for virtual races and challenges. I’d seen these in the past, but wanted to make an honest effort to get healthier and stronger this year.

For me, the physical medals appeal to me. The pictures on their website were enough to entice me to purchase one. Well, three, actually. They had a deal so I got a couple. My first was Rovaniemi (Finland). That was February 1st.

That sets the stage for my review. Since Feb. 1, 2025, it’s been a whirlwind of steps and bicycling. I live in the mountains at nearly 7,000 feet elevation. I’m now able to walk for 30 minutes without getting worn out and feeling exhausted. My clothes fitting lose on me. I’m losing weight, replacing fat for muscle, have more stamina, more mental focus, and just feel better over all.

It’s funny, because the reason I got into doing these challenges was for the medals, and it’s still a driving force for me. But, the health benefits I’m experience have eclipsed the medals. I’m not at the point where I wi=ant to try the Silk Road, which 2,361 miles. Two months ago, I was questioning why I purchased that medals, other than it looked beautiful. Now, I believe I can actually complete the challenge. That would be a HUGE accomplishment for me.

Additionally, Pacer support has been perfect. They are patient and knowledgeable. I’ve learned to not suffer in silence and get frustrated with the process, the app, or the shipping of the medals. An email, and Pacer support eases my frustrations and helps me use the app where I’ve made it more complicated than it needs to be.

For example, they recently helped me complete the 21km (13 mile) Year of the Snake virtual race. I learned it all had to be done in one session, not an accumulation over time. 13 miles seemed impossible 2 months ago, but I’ve become stronger and have more endurance that I was able to complete the race. A huge accomplishment for me.

As to the shipping of the medals themselves. I am thankful they offer the option to ship immediately upon purchase. Other competing companies make you want to complete it, and they too ship from China. If you’ve ever purchased something from China, you know it just takes time. Track it with the links that are emailed to you. Sometimes, packaged get stuck in China. Once they get to the Los Angeles port, things sheen up and you can see measurable movement from place to place on a daily basis.

Overall, I like Pacer. The app, once you understand how to use it correctly, operates just fine. Support has been 100% awesome, and the medals are gorgeous. I like the hard boxes the medals come in. I put a label on the outside which identifies which challenge/race and the mileage.

I share my experience with everyone I know. Some have shown interest, but mostly everyone is happy that I’m focused on the health benefits.

Ultimately, I will complete every challenge and race Pacer offers. Even the long challenges which are many thousands of miles now seem possible.

One final thing. I love the digital postcards, pictures and articles with historical of relevant information as to the challenge itself. And the certificate is really nice.

I highly recommend doing these virtual challenges. Not just for the medals, it for your health.

I struggled to complete a challenge due to being sick for a few weeks.

Pacer sent me reminder emails that my date is coming up.

Even when I failed to hit my date, I reached out and Jane with support helped me extend my deadline to earn my medal.

I have been a Pacer customer for a few years and have never once been disappointed! So many options for different challenges and the medals are sooo nice! I have always had fantastic customer service experience as well.

Customer service exceeded my expectation! I lost the join codes for an order. When I contacted customer service Jane was so helpful and was able to send my codes. I was sure I was out of luck but Jane came to the rescue!

The medals are absolutely beautiful! Very high quality, bright colors and very well made. I also enjoy the app and find the whole experience very motivating.

Pacer is a great app and has been so much fun to use. I stumbled upon it while looking for walking challenges. It is packed with resources, has a robust, active community, and a beautiful, clean, effective interface. The challenges are incredibly informative. I've been blown away by the work they put into making fitness fun. I never hear anyone talk about Pacer, only The Conqueror, which was awful. It's literally just merchandise. Maybe they have an active FB page, but I wasn't interested in being on fb. I did their Route 66 challenge and it was just graphics. If I hadn't found Pacer, I wouldn't understand how incredibly useful, motivating, and fun a pedometer could be. I had Pacer Premium this past year & I HIGHLY recommend the upgrade, if you can swing it, to get the most out of the app, and espec to strengthen your new walking habit. I tell everyone about Pacer. I've been enjoying Pacer Adventure Challenges for many years now. I participate in many with my Pacer Premium subscription without a medal, and I really enjoy just learning about the places around the world. The competition with other users and the challenge move 5k a day helps motivate me in other ways.

I've purchased a few of my favorite challenges and received a handsome medal with cool details. The shipping takes a couple of weeks but it's always a nice surprise when it shows up.

I was going to order as there is currently a discount so the 4 spooky challenges were reduced 15% from £102.66 to £87.26 , but when I went to check out, there was a tax added which made the price up to £104.71, then delivery would be on top, and based on the rest of the reviews it’s not worth risk as that price as seems like it doesn’t turn up half the time !

The shipping for medals is ridiculously slow… if you get them at all. The first medal shipped for one of my orders disappeared in the ether, contacted them to ask for a new one to be sent. Had to have several emails exchanged before they would agree to send another out. The first one shipped from China, the second from California. The second arrived with no issues.

I have ordered several medals from pacer now and it seems that if medals are shipped from China, it’s hit or miss whether you’re actually going to get it, and if it ships from California you likely will. You never know where it’s going to ship from until it actually ships, so you can’t decide ahead of time to take a pass on ordering if it’s going to ship from China.

Also: if it ships from China and you actually GET the medal - be prepared to wait forever for it. For the last 2 challenges I ordered medals for, I’ve selected the “ship immediately” option rather than wait until the challenge is complete- because I now know the feeling of bitter disappointment when I complete a challenge and the medal FINALLY gets to me a month later, after much back and forth with Pacer to get another one sent.

For the first medal I chose “ship immediately” for, it arrived only a few days after I completed the challenge. I recently ordered another medal for a challenge on 8/14 and chose the “ship immediately” option, and tracking has STILL not updated as of 8/21, even though I was given a tracking number from Pacer (when I’ve checked the tracking for the last 3 days it continues to say “order processed by shipper” with no new updates).

Stupid me for ordering from Pacer again, it looks like it’s going to take forever for my current medal to arrive as well, if it arrives at all. I’m reluctant to even START my current challenge without the medal in hand now, as I don’t want to be bitterly disappointed again about having finished a challenge with again nothing to show for it (even though I paid for it).

I think this latest Pacer challenge will be my last. If I have to deal with random places where the medals ship from and the subsequent issues when that happens to be from China - it’s just not worth the heartache and frustration.

EDIT: since I wrote this original review, Pacer has gotten MUCH better with shipping! Mind you medals still usually take a while to arrive since most of them come from China (so one star off for that), but the ship times are fairly consistent now. Also, I now always choose “no waiting” for ship speed, and simply wait until I have the medal in-hand before I start a challenge (no peeking though, I wait until the challenge is complete before I let myself open it!). This works really well as long as I always have a challenge in the works and one in the wings, as it were. I actually LOVE that Pacer offers this option, because as soon as my challenge is complete, BAM! I can open my medal immediately! Awesome.

Overall, I do enjoy the challenges, the medals are gorgeous, and it’s STILL super motivating to keep me moving.

Hi! I was a bit discouraged by these reviews, but I went ahead and bought one anyway. It went really smooth. Got my medal after approximately 10 days (ordered it'before finishing challenge, since challenge was just 21 km'). I live in Denmark and it was delivered from China. This company seems legit and those medals are really high quality.

Promised a refund but after more than two weeks it is still outstanding. Written twice with no response. Very disappointed.

Update : Customer services contacted me and all has been satisfactory resolved.

Edit: 3+ years later pacer has reached out to me asking for me to edit my review of the company because they have since changed, they offered me stuff in exchange for me to edit my review and send me missing medals. I told them no and I received the medals after some hassle, they sent codes for challenges I had already done and got the medals for anyway.I once again informed them I wanted nothing from them and I was not going to change my bad review, I contacted trustpilot as I feel pacer is going to try and get reviews that are as old as mine deleted if the person does not agree to editing their review to something positive. Pacer is not a company that I would be willing to give another chance to now at this point as it's been so long to finally reach out coupled with the fact it's against trustpilots t and cs for a company to reach out an offer stuff in turn for a better review or deletion of review!

When i first bought a virtual adventure as they called it i was excited. I ended up buying another one as i like working on more then one challage at a time and it unfortunately kept recording my distance for both adventures. Then my distance was wiped from my first one and when trying to fix it, it would not work then when it did it added way more distance then what i actually did (even tho i have now got the distance the one adventure required).

They seem to have fixed the issue with the distance being added to all of them instead of only the one you entered it for. I have given 3 stars as are having issues sending out my medal(s) once i get my medal(s). I will update my rating.

Update March 10th 2020: i decided to give them chance and have a total of 5 challanges with pacer. I still dont have any of my medals only 2 have shipped one still has no tracking info an the other is in my country but pacer entered my postcode wrong and more then likely the rest of my address.

I contacted them about this and they told me to contact the delivery company to fix it. Seriously almost all delivery companies require the sender to fix this kind of issue. They said if i cant fix it they will resend it via normal post. I have already waited roughly a month (counting monday through friday) and they expect me to wait another month because they screwed up.

Do not buy with pacer at this point their customer service is basically useless as it can only give excuses and expects you to right their wrongs when it comes to delivery issues they have caused.
