ACIS is the best!

I highly recommend traveling with ACIS. Our trip had an unforseen intinerary change and ACIS offered us an equally engaging trip with a personalized excursion without a price increase. Our tour manager M took great care of us!

The tour guides are amazing

The tour guides are amazing! AKA Herson!
The food is awesome and you get choices. The trips are personalized and you know exactly what you are getting when you sign up for an ACIS trip!

Discriminatory practices

This company discriminated against my daughter who has anxiety and offered no accommodations. They removed her from a tour with no due process and said there's nothing they could do. Worst experience of my life.

I am so sorry that your daughter has gone through more stress, and I do wish she was able to experience an overseas trip.
I don’t know your particular situation; however, safety of our participants is always our number one priority.
We work with our groups leaders/chaperones to make sure they feel capable of providing proper attention to a student under their supervision.
There are some cases when we must support the schools and chaperones in choosing who is able to travel with the group.

You get what you pay for. ACIS is not the least expensive in the business, but the quality of their service, hotel locations, and food arrangements are top notch.

ACIS truly goes the extra mile

ACIS truly goes the extra mile! When my daughter arrived at the airport for her trip, it was only then that we realized her passport was expired - and this was over the Christmas holidays. ACIS helped me overcome this “epic mom fail” by walking us through getting an emergency passport appointment, negotiating with the airlines to reschedule international flights, and being available around the clock to offer advice and wisdom each step of the way. They even helped me while on their personal holiday. This is a company that stands out from ALL the rest, making sure my daughter rejoined her travel group missing only one day of her tour. Thank you, ACIS!

ACIS refused to refund the deposit for…

ACIS refused to refund the deposit for our tour when Covid hit. They offered a travel vouchers for later use. We contacted them to confirm the expiration date of the voucher and was told a different date that what was printed on our vouchers (we misplaced our vouchers with a lot of things going on). We told us it was Dec 2022, but when we later found our vouchers, late this year, the actual expiration date is Dec 2023. It was too late to do anything, We contacted them with the email trail of their rep giving us the wrong date, but they refused to accept our request of extending for 12 months so we can plan. They don't even accept the fact that their representative made the mistake. I understand that it was printed on the vouchers, But not to even considered the entire situation does not show that they are good people to work with. There is no person to talk to, just a chat line and they just disconnected me on the chat line when I discuss the issue. They keep our $2000 for what exacly the service provided, when everyone refunded our airfare, hotels due to covid?

The reply from Laura makes sense, but throughout our chat and emails (that was the only methods, no phone calls) no agents ever offered or informed us that we can book a trip for 2024 or 2025 as long as we book it by the expiration date of the vouchers. We are led to believe the travel needed to be before the expiration date of Dec 2023

I am sorry you are unhappy with ACIS. We truly tried to be as flexible as possible during COVID to allow our participants to use their vouchers but we cannot extend them indefinitely.

To go over the situation, you had originally signed up for a 2020 program and we offered our passengers to travel in 2021 at no penalty or additional cost. When your trip was moved from 2020 to 2021, $1000 of what you had paid was applied as a voucher to your 2021 program. This voucher was good for two years and therefore redeemable until Dec 31, 2022. When the 2021 program was cancelled we reissued that voucher and gave you another year to redeem, until December 31st, 2023. Officially you should have traveled by that time. We did offer to honor this voucher for travel in 2024 or 2025, as long as the voucher was redeemed by the validity date of December 31, 2023. After this date, a validity time of 2 years, the voucher will be void.

While I'm disappointed to hear your frustration, we do have to adhere to certain financial criteria and cannot further extend the validity of this voucher.

ACIS has been my go to.

ACIS has been my go to for leading educational tours through Europe. I went in 1989 as a student and led my last trip in 2022. They have always had the highest standards and will jump to fix anything unpleasant that comes up unexpectedly. Their guides are experienced and fun, the hotels are good and the food is great.

But the best part is knowing just how helpful everyone in support roles can be. Planning is stressful and ACIS tries hard to alleviate as much ad possible.

absolutely awful

absolutely awful. they're website seems clear about the refund policy if you cancel, but when you do cancel, they then send small print which shows why you're not eligible for the full refund. I would urge any school not to use this service, unless you want to overspend and not get your money back

I am so sorry to hear that you are upset with our refund policies. We try to be very clear about our standard refund and our upgraded Protection Plans.
We even have a pop up upon registration with the cancellation policy to avoid any confusion on our policy. I know some people believe that they will receive the Protection Plan cost back, this is not true, you get back everything but the cost of the Protection Plan.

I am not sure if that is the confusion, and I cannot look up your record as you did not leave any information. Please email accounts@acis.com and write "for Laura" and I will look into this right away to see if there is some sort of error.

Again, we never like to see anyone upset so please do contact us.

Japan Global Conference

I had never been to Japan before and so having the opportunity to go on this global conference was amazing. Our tour managers and guides were excellent. The hotels were all lovely. We got to see all the sites we could see in the time allotted, and the food was amazing, especially the last night. I really enjoyed the karaoke towards the end of the trip so we could all have fun with each other. Thanks ACIS for really making this the trip of a lifetime!

$175 to "reactivate my account", terrible customer support

This company wants to charge me $175 to "reactivate my account" so I have the "privilege" of signing up my student for a trip. By far the WORST customer support and clunkiest website I have EVER used. I would give them zero stars if I could

I am sorry that you had a negative experience. I see in your account that we did waive this fee for you.

To explain what happened:
We give travelers early registration discounts with the understanding that they will pay the deposit. If you do not pay the deposit after four attempts to warn you via email we do cancel your account and open space for someone else. If you contact us and there is still space, we will get you on, but if not, we will need to add you the wait list.
If there is a special circumstance we will waive it, as we did for you.
Again, I apologize for the frustration and if you are still interested in traveling, once you pay the deposit our team will try add you to the group.

It took several tries to get my problem…

It took several tries to get my problem corrected. I still can’t sign into my account using my email address, because it takes me to a previous trip. I have to sign in with a number I can’t remember as my username. I tried changing my username in that new account, and even after doing that, it tried to take me back to the account with my old trip. Seems your system can’t handle more than one trip for a person, so now I have to reenter all my information. Also, now my husband is having the same issue, so he’ll have to get a different ID to be able to enter a payment, and we’ll have to reenter all his info.

Sorry for the delayed response but I know someone from our team reached out to you right after this review. The reason for the difficulty is that you signed up to two different types of trips. First one you had signed up as a traveler and this trip you were an independent group that registered you in our systems as a group leader. Normally people don't register as both so it is just a fluke. Again I apologize for your frustration, but I believe all is set now!

Everything is always well done and planned by the tour guides. They are so on top of everything and know their facts - even if they don't they're so graceful about making things happed and flexible.

I LOVE ACIS

I LOVE ACIS! Having traveled with other companies, I believe ACIS is the best in the biz. I have taken several trips with them and plan to continue. This last summer one of my students noted how much better their experience was with this trip versus a trip the previous year with another company. Time is the most valuable commodity in travel. ACIS finds central lodging, saving valuable time!

Can't imagine traveling with anyone else

ACIS takes care of everything anyone could possibly think is necessary. All personnel involved in the planning as well as the actual traveling experiences is considerate and organized and looking out for all travelers' safety and well-being.
Trips balance educational content and experiences with free time for travelers to explore on their own.

The ACIS website provides comprehensive information for all parties involved in the planning and traveling for all trips. Communication, both through webpages and ACIS staff is always a priority.

We have 25 years of experience with ACIS and will not trust any other educational travel company.
