I was kept waiting over an hour after my appointment time, people that arrived well after me all went in first, which frustrated me,when I was told I was next I still waited for another 20 miinutes despite the clinician having no one in with her.
The treatment I got was no differance from Specsavers who referred me there so it was a complete waste of my time

From my very first appointment I was treated very well I felt somewhat apprehensive as not sure what would happen, but I was soon put at ease. I needed cataract operation in both eyes and was given those appointments before I left. These were most successful and I have yearly checkups for my macular degeneration which was yesterday and all good. The world is a much brighter place since this and I'm very grateful Ty.

I was very impressed by ACES attention to detail, from friendly efficient staff, cleanliness of areas and a pain free operation on both occasions, the follow-up phone appointment was punctual and useful in relation to my questions. I would definitely recommend them.

Had laser treatment at ACES in Dartford. Extremely helpful and friendly staff and couldn’t recommend them enough was there less than an hour.

Appointment provided very quickly good location with easy parking. Reception and all rooms very clean and tidy, all staff very friendly and efficient.

Excellent experience. They were very quick to make appointments and they move you through he system very quickly, yet smoothly informing you clearly along the way.

Having been kept waiting treading water by various Moorfields centres for nearly 20 years to have my cataracts removed, I can't tell you how much a breath of fresh air this was.

Firstly I could not believe how quickly I was offered an appointment following my appointment with the Optician. The treatment I received was excellent. Staff were kind thoughtful and friendly and put me at ease. I only waited about 5 minutes before being called in to see the clinician. I cannot speak highly enough of my visit.

I waited about an hour to be seen and was not impressed with care and advice given. I left the appointment with doubts and general feeling of disappointment. I also made travel arrangements so as to not drive to the appointment but it turned out that this was not needed.

Had an appointment for the "virtual glaucoma " clinic at which I had a number of eye tests by a Health Assistant. She was polite enough but called me "darling"several times which I find inappropriate as an older woman. She did apologise when I asked her not to do this.
I was told someone would call me in a few days to discuss the results but I would have preferred to speak to an opthalmology on the day.I expect this is a cost cutting measure which is a sign of the times unfortunately.

They let you know what they are planning to do, and they keep you up to date .

I was referred from opticians to Aces Dartford...for a cataract Op... after lots of tests they asked if i had any questions and i said because i get vertigo if i lay flat..could i have a thin pillow under my head...they said no because the equipment is all fixed in place..also because i get vertigo they couldn't do it and would refer me to QM hospital because they can do it in a Dentist type chair....they said i should hear from hospital in 1 month and op done within 3 months.... because ive had other problems since..one being broken elbow.... I have not thought about the fact i have not heard from hospital and its past 4 months..now ive checked and they haven't received any referral from Aces...Ive phoned Aces and they are looking into it..so they obviously didn't refer me

Update...Ive phoned Queen Marys Hospital to check on my new referal ...as I was assured by Aces central office that they would make a proper referal now.....well the lady at QM hosp...checked ..at first she couldnt find anything and then she found a referal that was made for me to Anglesea clinic?? neither of us had heard of it..then she saw that it had been cancelled?? so now I have to go back to specsavers who originally refered me to Aces....and Queen Mary's told me once Im referred I wont get my first appointment till next year ..Im 77 and very angry

Prompt, friendly, courteous and efficient.

The eye tests @ The Avenue, Southampton was efficient & staff were lovely. The follow-up telephone consultation was a voicemail, so no opportunity to ask questions. This was very disappointing & does not match up with my expectation of what a telephone consultation should consist of.

My Father was referred 18 months ago via his optician to Aces in Fakenham. It took 8 months to be seen. He needs minor surgery and was told in August 2024 that he would be seen in Fakenham within 3 weeks. After much chasing he has an appointment booked on 17th June 2025 in Wisbech! However today, the 16th June it has been cancelled with no offer of another appointment. He is 89 and in discomfort continually. What do we do now???

Have been using Aces for some years, always recommending them to friends and family.
This appointment was the - by now familiar - mix of punctuality, courtesy, professional expertise and sympathetically delivered advice and information.
Can't ask for more!

Seen very much to time for lazer surgery to one eye Consultant explained the proceedure and answered any questions I had and made me feel at ease.

I had been referred to Aces Eye Clinic by my optician for a preliminary assessment (and subsequent surgery) on a cataract problem in one eye. Was contacted by a representative of the organisation within 24 hours and given an initial time for the very next day (which I could not commit to) they then pushed for a another appointment within the next 48 hours, initially I was very impressed with this level of service.A date/ time was arranged with a promise to confirm by email. 2 days later and I still hadn’t received this confirmation, rang them back to make sure I was booked in and wouldn’t have a wasted journey, they confirmed appointment and promised another confirmation email, this also never arrived. Eventually I contacted them and confirmed an 11.20 am appointment time, for a preliminary assessment for cataract treatment. When I arrived for the appointment I was greeted and booked in by very young member of staff who also seemed to be doing multiple other tasks (which appeared to be some of the consultation tasks?). Sat waiting for my appointment until 12.40 pm, whilst numerous patients arrived and went into (what seemed to be) later appointments. Upon enquiring as to when I might actually see someone the ‘receptionist’ gave me a blank look and said ‘I would be soon’ she did appear to go somewhere to check but never came back to me to give me any sort of confirmation. I had sat in reception for the 90 plus minutes listening to the receptionists calling people with appointments later in the day encouraging them to come in earlier ‘on speck’?’. I found this most concerning, they seemed to by trying to get as many bookings crammed into the day as possible (could this be related the the incentive provided by the NHS subcontracting scheme?) it felt very much as if they were quantity (not quality) driven. The final straw came when an elderly lady ( who had been waiting from an appointment earlier than ours) was actually called, we had spoken to her during the wait about the delays and as she was passing she told us that she was there for ‘more’ (I got the impression it was quite a few more) remedial treatment on a failed cataract operation 5 months earlier and she was currently blind in that eye and had been since the operation!! At this point my confidence in these people (which was already low) evaporated completely and I cancelled the appointment, having made a special trip into Cambridge for this. Completely and utterly disappointed with these people as an organisation and care giver, would certainly not (ever) trust them with something as important as my eyesight.
Going back to my optician to get a referral to a genuine NHS facility, even if I have to wait! Total amateurs,
