Wasted a lot of time - cancellation after cancellation
Wasted a lot of time messing around with this company to have no cleaner ever turn up. Avoid. Booked a specific date. Was told we’d have a cleaner allocated. Received messages for the week approaching the appointment to check if our cleaner had reached out- she hadn’t. Eventually she reached out the day before to confirm she was our cleaner - I asked her to confirm time which she didn’t reply to. I then messaged on the day of the cleaning to check time and she said she couldn’t do that day, offering the following week. We agreed, but she couldn’t confirm a time. I then messaged her on the morning of the cleaning to confirm when she would arrive. Her reply was “ Could we do it next week cause I have appointment today. Sorry.”. That’s the end of the experience - if we’d continued down this path, we might have had our house cleaned 10 days after when we booked it, or she might have cancelled again.

Terrible - Not Recommended
I’m extremely disappointed with my experience with Absolute Domestics and the cleaning service provided by Naz and Cetin.
I requested a refund of as I considered the standard of cleaning to be extremely poor, streaks all over windows and mirrors, no dusting done at all and both showers were not touched. Absolute Domestics subsequently told me that the cleaners would not refund the fee because they believed they had done the best they could.
Hiring a professional cleaning service is supposed to save time and provide confidence that the job will be completed properly. Instead, this experience left me frustrated, dissatisfied and out of pocket.
Not recommended.

While we appreciate that the standard of cleaning did not meet your expectations, the cleaners advised they completed the service to the best of their ability within the scope and time booked. It was also identified that some of the concerns raised related to conditions that would generally require a spring clean rather than a regular maintenance clean.
We note that you requested a full refund for two completed services, including one that had been carried out more than a month earlier. After reviewing the matter, the cleaners declined your refund request and maintained that the services had been completed.
Although a refund was not agreed to, a goodwill offer was made in an effort to resolve the situation. We respect that this was not the outcome you were seeking.

Only a basic service - unprofessional - didn't complete
We contacted Absolute Domestics requiring a bond clean / pre-sale clean as we had vacated our house and were wanting it cleaned before putting it on the market.
We found the service was very basic and unprofessional and I would not recommend this service for anything other than a basic "once over".
The cleaners were ill equipped for the job and also picked and chose what areas they wanted to clean instead of getting in and getting the job fully completed properly in one go. For example, the cleaner was using wet wipes and paper towel to clean windows.
We were left with the job incomplete twice on two separate occasions and the areas they did clean were not done properly.

Our records show that your concerns were thoroughly reviewed with both yourself and the cleaners involved. During both cleaning visits, requests were made for external window cleaning, which is not a service offered by Absolute Domestics. Despite this, significant time was spent attempting to meet your requirements, with approximately 16 hours of cleaning completed across the services provided.
As our cleaning contractors work to the requirements and priorities discussed with clients at the commencement of a service, the tasks completed at your property were based on the instructions and direction provided on the day. Where the scope of work exceeds the time allocated, cleaners will generally focus on the agreed priorities and advise if additional time may be required.
We understand you felt additional areas should have been completed within the time allocated. However, throughout our investigation, we were unable to obtain the photos requested to support the concerns raised. This made it difficult for us to objectively assess and substantiate the issues raised.
In an effort to reach a fair outcome, we offered several goodwill measures, including a complimentary hour of cleaning and waiving the agency fee on the second service. We also explored rectification options, despite the follow-up clean being postponed at your request while painters and other trades attended the property. As trades had access to the home following the original service, this also impacted our ability to assess the condition of the property as it was left by the cleaner.
While we appreciate that your expectations were not met, our team made multiple attempts to resolve the matter fairly and reasonably based on the information available.

Cancelled scheduled clean
We had organised a clean 1 week in advance and were informed the cleaner would get in touch at the earliest. Few days had passed and we did not receive any call so had to message them that no one has been in touch. After few more days we were finally contacted and the cleaner confirmed the job. The night before the cleaner then said they couldn't come. We then contacted the team who informed us another cleaner has been assigned. On the day of the scheduled clean the new cleaner said they could only come next week. We then contacted the team who still, 1 week later did not respond, not even a simple apology.
We originally had organised a weekly clean for the foreseeable future but with this experience we cancelled and went with a more reliable compmay.

The worse cleaning company ever!
The worse cleaning company ever!
We booked them for end of lease bond guarantee cleaning; we told that that we will do steam cleaning of carpets, but because we have a heavy shedding dog that we require a cleaner who will bring a high-power vacuum SPECIALISED FOR PET HAIR removal, and that they should budget extra hours for detailed vacuuming dog hair from carpets, edges and tracks; they confirmed that they have such cleaner with such pet hair specialised vacuum cleaner; cleaner called me and also confirmed that they have such vacuum cleaner.
On the day of cleaning they came with NO PET SPECIALISED vacuum cleaner, but an industrial vacuum cleaner, that was of course not able to do anything to remove dog hair. They spent only one hour on vacuuming. They were one hour late, left one hour early, and charge me one more hour on top (710 AUD total - that is for 10 hours of work whole they work only 7 if that). One cleaner promised that they will return (as it was bond guarantee) with a proper pet vacuum cleaner as he said that he knew who from to borrow the pet vacuum cleaner. He promised us several times just to get paid. The moment he was paid all communication stopped from his side, he has completely ghosted us, didn’t return my calls or messages, his cleaning partner took over the correspondence, denied everything, was super rude, and in the end was even threatening me! (have it all in writing)
When I complained to the agency they only by phone acknowledged by phone that it was their mistake for not securing the pet specialised vacuum cleaner and that they realised that industrial vacuum, no matter how strong is not capable to deal with pet hair. But that was it! In all further written correspondence they kept writing that they secured professional vacuum cleaner and carpet had too much hair. Of course that the carpet had hair, we cleaned twice per week with our own pet specialised pet vacuum cleaner and it always removes ALL the dog hair, but it needs to be the PET SPECIALISED vacuum cleaner! To cut the story short, they NEVER brought the proper vacuum cleaner, they LIED about the bond guarantee, they treated us like TRASH, they OFFENDED us, they broke the agreement, they are the worst lying agency in Australia, i will never ever ever ever recommend them or hire them and I hired another cleaning agency, they came with a proper pet cleaning vacuum cleaner like magic carpets were shining and not a single pet hair was left, but it costed me another cleaning fee on top of what I paid these frauds!!! Stay away!

Throughout our correspondence, you consistently advised that this was important due to your shedding dog, and we appreciate why you were disappointed when the outcome did not meet your expectations.
We would like to provide some context regarding this matter.
The main concern raised following both the initial clean and subsequent rectification visit was pet hair remaining within the carpets. In response, the independent cleaning contractors returned to the property and hired a commercial-grade vacuum at their own expense in an effort to address the issue. They also provided photographic and video evidence of the work completed. The contractors consistently maintained that the remaining hair appeared to be deeply embedded within the carpet fibres and could not be fully removed through vacuuming alone. While we appreciate that you disagreed with this assessment, this difference of opinion ultimately formed the core of the dispute.
We would also like to clarify that Absolute Domestics does not advertise, offer or guarantee the return of a tenant's bond. Our end-of-lease guarantee is a rectification guarantee, which allows eligible concerns reported within the applicable timeframe to be reviewed and, where appropriate, rectified. Bond decisions remain the responsibility of the property manager, landlord or relevant tenancy authority. In this instance, the cleaners returned to the property and undertook further work in response to the concerns raised.
As Australia's largest domestic cleaning agency, Absolute Domestics connects clients with carefully screened independent cleaning contractors. We take customer concerns seriously and invest significant time investigating complaints, reviewing evidence, facilitating communication and mediating between parties in an effort to achieve a fair outcome.
While we acknowledge that this matter was upsetting for you, we respectfully disagree with the suggestion that no effort was made to resolve your concerns. Considerable time was spent reviewing evidence from both parties, arranging the return visit, assessing the work undertaken and attempting to facilitate a resolution. The information available to us indicated that the contractors attended, reattended, utilised commercial equipment and made multiple attempts to address the concerns raised.
We also note that while your review references several concerns, the correspondence received from the property manager primarily related to the carpet issue and one minor touch-up item, which was addressed during the rectification visit. Following that visit, we did not receive a comprehensive list of further outstanding cleaning concerns for review.
We note your review states that you were threatened by one of the contractors. Prior to publication of your review, no allegations of threatening behaviour were raised with Absolute Domestics during our investigation. We take any claim of inappropriate, abusive or threatening conduct extremely seriously. Should you have evidence supporting this allegation, we invite you to provide it to us so the matter can be properly investigated.
While we respectfully disagree with a number of statements made in your review, we acknowledge the stress that can accompany end-of-lease cleaning and genuinely regret that a mutually satisfactory resolution could not be reached.

Absolutely useless! Don't agree to husband wife teams!
Absolutely useless! Don't bother with the Husband and wife cleaning teams, the wife runs around half cleaning everything to make up for the double hourly rate you are paying for each cleaner while the husband takes two hours to clean a single room.
End result cleaners paid double rate for same amount of time of one person cleaning. Never agree to husband and wife teams its a scam!

This matter was extensively reviewed at the time your concerns were raised, including detailed discussions with both yourself and the cleaning team, as well as a review of the photos and booking notes. We understand there are differing views regarding what was completed, the time spent onsite, and the overall scope of work.
Based on the information provided, the cleaners have advised they checked in with you multiple times, with areas being checked and approved as they progressed through the cleaning service. Additionally, some feedback now being raised was not brought forward during the cleaning service and was formally escalated several days later.
We also understand the scope of work changed during the service, with multiple task lists provided on arrival and additional requests made as the clean progressed. Some areas, including floors, were reportedly restricted or deprioritised, and the cleaners advised they continued working extended hours in line with the instructions provided at the time.
Importantly, we did work to facilitate a resolution. A return visit from the same cleaners and a partial refund offer were both put forward. While we understand the re-clean timing did not suit your schedule, and the refund option was not accepted, it’s not completely accurate to suggest that no resolution was offered.
Regarding fees, the Agency component forms part of the minimum service cost, which is clearly outlined on our website and was also quoted to you over the phone at the time of booking. There were no hidden costs or additional fees added. The Agency Fee helps cover the screening, vetting, matching, administration and ongoing support we provide to help ensure clients receive a reliable and well-supported service.
Absolute Domestics has operated as an Agency since 1993 and continues to support thousands of clients and cleaners each week. While we sincerely regret that your experience did not meet your expectations, we do not agree that the matter was ignored, misrepresented, or left without an attempt to reach a resolution. As previously advised, our offer of a partial refund remains available should you wish to accept it.

Workers Deserve Better
I’ve spent the past year working for this company, and unfortunately the compensation structure is extremely poor. There is no super, no additional pay for holidays, and the base pay is already very low. Meanwhile, the company charges $23 per clean without providing meaningful support. The imbalance makes it difficult to justify staying. I hope they reconsider how they treat their staff.

We’d like to advise that Absolute Domestics operates as an Agency that connects clients with independent cleaning contractors, rather than employing cleaners directly. During onboarding, it is clearly explained that cleaners operate as independent contractors. This arrangement provides a number of benefits, including the flexibility to set your own hours, choose your own clients, and effectively run your own cleaning business without the need to source your own work.
Our role includes marketing, client acquisition, scheduling support, and ongoing administration, which helps ensure a steady stream of work for cleaners. The $23.00 fee is the Agency's only source of income and is not deducted from the cleaner’s earnings. It is separate from, and independent of, the cleaner’s hourly rate. Both the agreed hourly rate and the agency fee are clearly disclosed during the recruitment and onboarding process to ensure full transparency. This fee contributes to keeping the business operating, including marketing to secure clients, maintaining our app and website for bookings and job management, and providing the ongoing support systems that enable cleaners to manage their schedules and grow their business.
Many of our contractors value the independence and freedom this model offers, as well as the support and reliability that comes with being part of an established agency with over 32 years of experience.
We understand that this structure may not suit everyone, and we appreciate your feedback. We are always looking to improve our service and support for our cleaners and will take your comments on board.

Bathrooms haven't looked this good for ages
We recently had a clean completed by Pema through Absolute Domestics and were extremely happy with the service provided. Pema was professional, thorough and paid great attention to detail. The house looked fantastic afterwards and it was clear a lot of care had gone into the clean.

She took the time to get to know us as a family
Bathrooms looked like show room
House wash shining and clean
when she was finished House smelt clean but not over powering.
Best cleaner we have had.
Is it Monday yet for Barbara to come back

Wish it could be 0 stars! The cleaner charged us double what was quoted and then damaged our stove top. The cleaner was the only person to enter the property. Management said the cleaner denies doing it and then tried to say that I had done it... I agreed to pay double... money isn't an issue. Dishonesty is the problem. "Peace of mind" is not for the customer it's for their own company.

We understand your concerns regarding both the condition of the stovetop and the service cost. We did carry out a detailed review of the information provided, including speaking directly with the cleaner involved. As advised at the time, the cleaner did not report any damage during the service and has denied causing the issue.
Based on the information available to us, we were unable to substantiate that the damage occurred as a result of the clean, and therefore liability was not accepted.
We appreciate that this is not the outcome you were hoping for, particularly given the importance of a smooth end-of-tenancy process. Where pricing is concerned, all quotes are based on the scope of work requested, and any variations are typically agreed prior to completion. If you feel this was not clearly communicated, we would be very happy to review that aspect further.
