The tech stole what wasn't his to take.
The tech told me that the new garage door costs between $4000 – $6000. I said I'd have to get another estimate. While I was in the house, he removed the contact stickers of another competitive company. Then, when I asked him about it, he blatantly lied.
FYI – I was able to get the garage door installed by another company at one third of their estimate.

A1 Garage Door Service company is absolutely the very best Garage door company I have ever encountered in my 80 years of life! In addition the company sent a highly impressive Technician named Daniel Sanford! He went through a 26 point inspection of my garage door and found that my Garage door springs were extremely weak and were not holding the weight of my 250 pound garage door which prevented the door from closing properly and posed a severe safety hazard as well. Daniel placed a scale underneath the garage door and noted that in order for me to raise the door I would have to lift 33 pounds to raise my garage with the help of these 2 weak springs. After he replaced the old springs with 2 new 5 year warranty springs all I had to lift was 3 pound to get my garage door open in case I had a fire in my home and there was no power. Daniel's thoroughness shined through as he proceeded to conduct his extensive inspection finding that my garage door rollers were excessively worn and dragging preventing the door from closing properly as well. He installed top of the line stainless steel ball bearing nylon rollers and tightened and replaced all stripped bolts that he found on all hinges with new stainless steel He also programed all my remotes including the push button feature in my vehicle. Upon completion of the job I was extremely pleased with the very fair and reasonable price he quoted for all the parts, labor, and his service call charges as well.
It was clearly evident that Daniel Stanford is well versed in all garage door repairs, and services. His positive "Can DO" and cheerful attitude, coupled with his steadfast determination to provide Outstanding customer service are truly his hallmarks which impressed me throughout the duration of his visit to my home. Daniel is clearly well deserving of special recognition for "Going The Extra Mile" and truly "Making My Day"!!
A1 Garage Door Service company clearly "Sets The Bar" for all garage door companies throughout Florida! I look forward in the future to calling this superb garage door company for all my garage door needs. In addition, I will request Daniel Stanford to be my only Technician from this day forward as well. Thank you again for a "Job Well Done'!

TERRIBLE company. The technician had to reschedule the first time because he was running behind, I had stayed home for 3 hours (which was my window), and in the end he had to reschedule. So I rescheduled for the next week where he told me on the phone he would be there right at 12 (I had a 12-3 window), and same story. So around 2 PM I called and they said he at my house. He was not. I called 35 minutes later and they said he was running behind and would have to reschedule!!!!!!!! So again, 6 total hours of my day(s) wasted and I STILL HAVE A BROKEN garage. door If you value your time, DO NOT SCHEDULE WITH A-1.

Called for a spring repair/new install and it was over $2000.00. For a spring? They cost 100-300 for parts only. I understand install and craftsmanship. Really I do. Total ripoff. The technician was a fear monger and took advantage of the situation. Oh but wait… you get a lifetime warranty. Whose lifetime? Mine isn’t that long. If you love getting ripped off call A1 garage.

The technician was great, very informative, explained everything discussed all options . Came early n very patient. Even programmed my phone.

I called on a Saturday for a spring repair and was told no up charge for weekend service. Al Garage Door Service arrived as scheduled. After the "sales" conversation the employee was told that we only wanted the standard springs installed and no 5-year warranty as we would be relocating shortly.
The charge to install 2 torsion springs to the 2-car garage door including tax, fees AND A 5 YEAR WARRANT PLUS A 28 POINT INSPECTION, WAS $1051.98. Also, they asked us to sign the work order prior to the work staring which included a 14 page copy of invoice, and 20 additional pages of warranty, cancellation notice, warranty parts. NO WHERE WAS THERE A COPY OF MY SIGNATURE ON THE INVOICE. I have requested a copy.
I called 2 other highly respected garage door companies in this area and asked them to price the exact same work (reading from A1 Garage Door Service's description of the work). Their bids totally including service, product, install, weekend, taxes, and 1-year warranty was under $500.
Therefore I stopped payment on my credit card and notified A1Garage Door Service that we felt we had been overcharged and taken advantage of for the service compared to the competitive pricing in this area.
We are willing to pay for the install at a fair and equitable amount but are not willing to be robbed by scrupulous company practices of A1 Garage Door Service.

I had reliability issues with my garage key pad and inside opener button. I called A1 Garage Door Service which I had used 4 years earlier to replace door springs. They give a 5 hour window for arrival. Friday, Nov 22nd, the two guys arrived and fairly quickly said that I needed a new opener. The lead guy, Trevor, tried hard to sell me new rollers but I did not need them and had to repeatedly say no to his continuing suggestions for new rollers. While they were there, the second guy asked me if I lived alone which was creepy.

The installation of the inside garage opener button was sloppy, did not cover the spot where my older, smaller button had been located, a bottom screw hole was left exposed and a mess was left on the floor below the new opener button that was installed. He also left two large (4" x 4") adhesive advertisements for A1 Garage Door Service – one just below the opener button which he covered the exposed screw hole, and another on the back of my garage door. I removed them.

Afterwards, I could not pair my remote with the new opener. He gave me a card and said the phone number was a direct line to his phone, but when I called, it was a generic company greeting. Over the weekend, the garage door opened by itself several times. In addition to not being able to pair my car remote, and the garage door opening by itself, the temperature displayed on the inside garage button menu was clearly wrong (and still is).

I called the Monday morning to report the issues and despite the fact that my garage door was opening by itself, I was informed that a technician could not be out for a week. I was given another 5 hour window from 1pm to 6pm. After waiting that Friday, all that time, at 5:50pm on 11/29, it was only after I called them that I was then told that the technician could not make it because he was still busy on a different call. So I had to reschedule again.

The technician came out and gave me some stupid garbage tale about how the garage door probably opened on its own b/c when he installed it, he probably set it to the same frequency as a neighbor's garage door and when the neighbor opened their garage door, it also opened my garage door. He said he did a "hard reset" of the new door opener. I asked about the temp readout (20 degF warmer temp than outside air) and he gave me bullshit garbage about how my insulated garage door kept the garage that much warmer - despite unfinished garage.

A few days later, when I left to run errands, my garage door would not close and there was an error message on the inside garage button saying sensor obstructed and to check error code 4-6 in owner manual. There was nothing obstructing the sensors and there was nothing about this issue in the owner manual.

I parked and called the company yet again and, again, despite the fact that my garage door would not close, they would not send someone out for over a week. I made it clear that I was sick of this defective opener and wanted a new one. They called Trevor and told him to call me. He agreed to a new opener and asked me to text him on his personal cell with several day/times I would be available the next week which I did, but then I had to repeatedly text him for a day/time because he was not responding to my text.

When he finally got to my house, he says he replaced the "motor head" and while he was here, he kept on and on about keeping an eye on the door sensors as if I was a stupid idiot, had no idea how they worked and I was somehow tripping them up without realizing it. This was even after I explicitly told him that I know how they work and that my previous door opening system worked exactly the same way! The temp reading continues to be wrong to this day.

I never received a receipt for this $1,326.66 new door opener. I had to call and ask for one. I will never use this company again and I would not recommend them or their services to anybody.

I was charged $200 to replace a $20 keypad, while I was told the $150 service fee would be waived!

The technician Rick Bourget was there earlier than scheduled, and on a Saturday, too! He was very knowledgeable and efficient, explained everything and got our garage door fixed, no more issues. Thanks, A1 and Rick!

I had issues with my garage door closing. It kept saying it was off track but the door wasn't off track. I called A1 Garage door service. They sent the tech Brandon out. He knew exactly what I was describing and was very nice. He did an inspection and fixed the door. Now the noise I was hearing from my garage door (which I thought was normal but wasn't) is gone. The door run smoothly. Great company and experience. I didn't have faith in companies due to my bad experience but A1 Garage Door Service is changing that. Milwaukee, WI service
