As a long term customer of UK2Numbers I have always been a fan; pretty good number provider. BUT what I didn't know when I signed up is that they will charge £149.95+VAT for every number that you transfer away. Sneakily, the terms and conditions page that contains this information is not available on their web site UNTIL AFTER you become a customer.

This is unethical a best and may even be illegal. Please avoid the trouble of using UK2Numbers as there as so many other ethical companies that don't do this. It literally costs nothing to port a phone number, they seem to be just gouging customers who leave them. If I had many numbers with them I would take this to court, but I am lucky enough to have a good supplier now and it's not worth the hassle for £180.

I have been a customer of UK2Numbers for several years. Their support has always been very quick to help.
Recently, we have installed a new phone system and in order to not pay for all calls incoming to the business, we decided to move the number.
As I said, my experience has always been that their support was quick and helpful... not this time - it took a month for a relatively automated reply to tell us that they were invoking their hidden fee of £149.99+VAT to move the number.
Obviously, I was a bit surprised and I asked a couple of questions around what would be the best option to keep the number where it was but again, I received no reply at all.
A couple of days later, I received an automated notification that I would be charged the £149.99+VAT!

Thanks UK2Numbers, this is how you flush customer satisfaction down the toilet.

What this company don't tell you is that to leave them and take your number to another carrier they will charge you £150 for each number!! Ludicrous and hidden very slyly in the terms and conditions.

Might I just add that it costs the company NOTHING to transfer you to another carrier. I would have expected an admin charge of some small value but £149.95 + VAT per number is outrageous.

Avoid this company like the plague, there are so many more better, honest and helpful companies out there!

Thought, I add some balance to the feedback on this site. I have been using UK2Numbers for almost 10 years - purchased an 0800 number at a very low cost back in 2010-2011. They are extremely reasonably priced, which is a factor for my small business. Recently I had an issue for the first time - could not login to my account and update billing details, so my number was deactivated. However, the support team responded to all my emails within 24 hours and helped to fix the issue promptly and in a friendly manner. My number is working again just fine.

Everything was fine until you try to move away from them. Then they do not answer calls. If you do finally get in touch with them they then overcharge you for leaving, then do not honour the porting requests. Avoid this company.

Stay clear of this company. Felt tramped for years. Finally managed to mive on with new numbers from elsewhere. Cannot believe companies like UK2Numbers are allowed to carry on. Oftel have no teeth and let businesses down.

Company has numbers diverted from an 0800 or 0330 - if there is a payment issue the block all calls (running a business - this is far from ideal). Their rational is that they gave 24 hours to rectify............... No calls coming into your company due to £58 bill (when you pay 5 times that a month)

Avoid at all costs - store passwords via plain text! Support tries to hide the fact and fool you to think they use encrypted systems. This company needs stopped

UK2Numbers are one of the worst companies I have ever had to deal with in my 30 years of business. After paying them charges each year they refused to allow me to change the business name on my account unless I paid them £60. When I refused they suspended my account and 0845 numbers with a few days notice directly causing me to loose business. When I then under duress agreed to pay the charge they still refused to reinstate my numbers as I had dared to challenge them. They ignored all subsequent correspondence. This was the main no for my business and is on all my stationary. The 0845 numbers can only be transferred to BT and only if the number is in service which UK2numbers had deliberately put out of service. Neither Nexus Telecom who supplies the number to UK2numbers or OFTEL could assist.

I therefore took legal action against them as a result of their wholly unreasonable actions which I won but couldn't enforce as they only give out an invalid service address as their registered address. They do not reveal their true physical address (the court has now ordered them to disclose this to me). They have also managed, at great expense, to overturn the court judgement on a technicality and the matter will be retried. If you use them for your business then BEWARE of this company and migrate your numbers to another provider ASAP before you regret it like I did.

PS For a company that is in the business of providing phone numbers it is very strange that is doesn't provide one for itself.

I will say two things that I know to be true about UK2Numbers. The registered head office is PO box at the Royal Mail and for a company that sells telephone numbers they don't have one of their own.

I wish I had looked realized this before I did any business with them. From my perspective it has been one of the worst decisions I have ever made.
