The Whisky Vault was born from ideas created by Philip and Richard Hawley, a Father/Son relationship, based in Yorkshire, UK. We are an incredibly enthusiastic business and currently run this as an entirely family-oriented project. Since the idea was embraced, many moons ago, we have been hard at work putting all the pieces together, in order to turn our vision into reality. Philip has been collecting rare specimens of whisky for a number of years, but the hobby has since turned into a passion. As time progressed, it was clear Philip had a real eye for quality and that this could become more than a pastime, it was time to put our skills together to create something special, what would later, of course, become The Whisky Vault. Richard has had a lot of experience in the customer service business and has successfully owned a thriving bar in Leeds. This, coupled with an honorary degree in Business and Computing, really gave us a chance to set the ball rolling, we had our key ingredients. With Richard at the helm of all the design and content of the site, plus the set up and licensing requirements, it was left to Philip to effectively be our stock controller and manager, ensuring we had plentiful, but essentially, quality products to offer to the world’s army of whisky lovers. As we go forward, we are confident this is the case. With over one thousand items in our catalogue, there are expressions of whisky that are very rare and indeed sought after. We will endeavour to keep the site exciting and fresh and therefore be consistently adding new products, as and when we acquire them. Having a customer services background, we understand the importance of fair, quality and efficient service. We adhere to this policy relentlessly.

Interesting to see a bottle I showed an interest in with this company has now increased in price by 44% on their site 3 days after my email.
To quote this business, "We endeavour to keep the site exciting and fresh" they certainly have!
My advice, don't show any interest if keen to buy from these guys.

You showed interest in this product weeks ago, we never heard back after our response - in which we took the time to provide you with detailed, fresh photos. The item was later sold to another buyer. We have since put a replacement bottle for sale on the site, naturally the price increased due to the cost it took for us to acquire it. That said, we would have happily honoured the original price had you asked. Instead, without contacting us you deemed it necessary to attack us on multiple review sites, contact trading standards (?!) and then send us multiple angry and insulting name-calling emails. This all being as someone who has never used our services or made a purchase. If anyone ever requests images or further information on any of our items for sale, we have no problem whatsoever in providing them.

Great Whisky Store
Bought an old bottle of Ardbeg 1975 for my Father as a Christmas present. Delivery was swift, well packed and most importantly Dad loves it (well, what's left of it). I will definitely recommend Whisky Vault to friends.

Mr Fulton bought a bottle of old whisky from us in January 2013. When he received it he said that there was something wrong with it as there were "bits floating in the bottle" - I explained that this was commonplace when a whisky has not been chill filtered, and that it is basically bits of the cask in the bottle - which in a lot of cases can actually add flavour and character to the whisky. He was not happy with this, even after the explanation, so I told him if he returned the bottle he would get a full refund. We then got the bottle delivered by a courier who said the bottle had broken - sure enough, in the package the bottle was broken and the whisky had leaked. I wrote immediately to the customer, providing pictures, on our findings and he didn't believe us and thought we had sabotaged the return on purpose (why?!!) - To prove our case, we got the delivery company to sign a letter, which they were bound by, explaining the state of the goods in which they were delivered. I sent this signed letter on to the customer and never got a response - until this review, over 14 months later. Mr Fulton has attempted 3 reviews so far, all of which rejected, as he accused us of being a "con", a "rubbish company" and "they broke a bottle of whisky and blamed it on delivery so they didn't have to give me my money". Everything we did we acted upon within our terms and conditions, we have high principles (see every other review) and the remarks by Mr Fulton are both unfounded and slanderous.

This was an amazing transaction, great communication and super fast shipping (to USA) I would buy from the Whiskey Vault again and again without reservation.

Bloomin excellent choice!
Managed to find a whisky that was distilled when my wife was born and bottled when we met!!!! All thanks to the whisky vault. Only reservation is that the delivery classes the North East of Scotland as "Highlands" and doubles the delivery :(

Excellent and personal service - highly recommended
It was really important to me that my selected whisky was shipped in time for my father's birthday. The Whisky Vault website was clean and easy to use, I made my choice and selected a courier service to Germany. I contacted The Whisky Vault to request delivery two days later - and received a personal reply that reassured me the gift would be shipped on the Monday to arrive by the important day Tuesday. It all happened as planned. My father was delighted with the choice and I would highly recommend The Whisky Vault to anyone because of this alone.

Excellent service
This was my first order with this company. It went as this:
- t=0hrs (day 1, 10 pm local time): order placed
- t=8hrs (day 2, 6 am local time): DHL tracking number received
- t=36hrs (day 3, 10am local time): goods delivered
I would be happy with this service quality should the delivery take place in the same country. In this case the distance was 1500+ miles. Awesome. Definitely worth the money.

Excellent website, rapid delivery and first class product
The website was very simple to navigate and each product had a helpful description. Delivery was very fast and the whiskey arrived securely wrapped. A very straightforward transaction all round.
