I visited the dorchester branch today. All of the staff were so welcoming, lovely and very helpful.

Phoned Scrivens North Finchley for an appointment late on Wednesday 27th August 2026 and was given a time of 9:00am today. From the minute I stepped through the door I was greeted with a very warm welcome and excellent service from Carol. Carol offered me a complimentary hearing test which was totally unexpected.

Had my eye test with Michael S who was professional and explained every step of the process. Michael performed a thorough eye test and his attention to detail was phenomenal. Such a caring person.

Michael S recommended a new pair that would suit me. So pleased with his selection and the new glasses. Helped at every stage by the wonderful, knowledgable Michael the shop manager. Again, Michael went above and beyond and was professional at every step of the journey. Michael explained the pricing process.

Both Michael’s together with Carol are to be commended on their helpfulness. Without question, I would highly recommend the Finchley branch to anyone seeking a new optician. The added bonus is that it is close to him.

I have used Scrivens opticians happily for some years and recently booked to have an ear clean/test. Hearing aids were recommended and I agreed to have some fitted. The Audiologist demonstrated suitable aids and explained how to fit and keep them clean. The new aids are working well and I had a recent follow up visit where small adjustments were made. Very good service and friendly staff. Recommended.

I had a double appointment for eyes and ears to be tested. I can honestly say I have never had an experience like this before. ALL the staff were helpful, friendly and were able to answer all my questions. My eyes were tested , not much change there, but I decided that a new pair of specs wouldn't go amiss. The ladies there were extremely helpful, giving sound advice making full use of their experience guiding me to make a decision over style and suitability.
The audiologist took me through the procedure of testing my ears and establishing that I needed hearing aids. As I am over 65 years old I was advised to contact my GP and request authorisation from them to seek a referral for my ears to be tested. I did this and within a fortnight I was contacted to return to the store and collect my aids. At no time was there any "sales pitch" , just sound advice. I am so pleased with the service that I have recommended my friends to use Kings Heath branch, which they have done, reporting that they had the same experience I did and were so glad that they went.

I recently had a hearing test and then was fitted for hearing aids at Scrivens Opticians & Hearing Care in Cheadle. The service was excellent. My test and fitting were carried out by the audiologist Tom, whose care was exceptional throughout — clear explanations and a calm, professional approach.
The staff at Scrivens were friendly and attentive, making the appointment straightforward and reassuring. Tom’s kind, patient manner and his clear, down‑to‑earth way of explaining everything made the whole appointment feel calm and comfortable.
Thanks to Tom’s guidance, my new hearing aids have made an amazing difference — far more than I expected. I’m genuinely grateful for the positive impact they’ve had on my everyday life.

People are always really lovely when you go in to the shop. The optician was excellent and very professional. Gave good advice. Would highly recommend.

For some time I have had my hearing looked after by Scrivens of Sutton Coldfield. Found all the staff very friendly and helpful. Never any issues.
There are 2 exceptional staff members I would like to mention, Charlotte Fletcher who is always smiling and happy to help when we enter. Khalid Jamil cannot do enough. He is always thorough and constantly checking all is what I wanted.
I would highly recommend them above other Options I have been to in the past.

I go to the Wallasey Scrivens branch at the Cherry Tree for both my eye and audiology appointments. This branch, in my opinion, offers perfect care from both the opticians and audiologists. All the staff are kind, understanding, and helpful. I can't understand why many people attend the nearby Specsavers instead. The only explanation is that they are not aware of the individualised, and careful attention that everyone receives at Scrivens.

All staff were helpful. Kept up to date with progress throughout my visit . Knowledgeable staff, prepared to ask for advice when needed.

I have worn varifocal spectacles for over 25 years and never had a problem with any. However for the first time I have with the new frame decided upon. After a week I had to take them back as they caused eye strain and headache. I expected it to be difficult but to my relief it was NOT, the staff were exemplary and allayed all my stress. I can't recommend them more, unlike a rival national chain who are the diametric opposite

On my recent visit to Scrivens, I found all staff to be friendly and professional. I needed new glasses and was helped to find the right ones for me without pressure to buy or feeling rushed.
On a previous visit 2 years ago, the optician referred me to an ophthalmologist and I am so grateful because it was found that I needed a procedure on the eye in question. Also, during my visit a condition was found on the other eye which required treatments and it is responding well. Thank you Scrivens.

The assistants are very kind and look after me very well.

I was seen by the optician exactly on time of my appointment, unlike some of the bigger companies. All the staff are friendly and helpful, very professional and knowledgeable. I was not pressured when choosing frames, lenses etc. I would definitely recommend this company.
