Well what can I can, I've been in seafood business for 20 yrs and this place is my go to!
Freshly Peeled Prawn cocktail mot usual mushy tasteless crap.
Whole Devon crab cooked to perfection, one of the party had the crab terrine and king prawns which were both excellent.
Johnny our waiter was great, knowledgeable about wines, (we had 3 bottles Hic!) Cheese board shared to finish with great port
Its not cheap but you get what you pay for, now the bad bit this place is very busy, your table is an hr and half slot, they dont always tell you which is not good!.
Dont be late! Ita a well oiled machine so you could be disappointed as you table will be re allocated.

I purchased a Gift Voucher for Randall & Aubin at Christmas time to celebrate a very special occasion. Feb 10th my daughter took her fiancé to R&A in London to celebrate completing his PhD thesis. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations and was deeply disappointing.
My daughter mentioned that the restaurant itself was smaller than anticipated, but size was not the issue. I had hoped and reasonably expected the food to be exceptionally fresh and delicious, and the staff to be friendly, attentive, and most importantly, knowledgeable about allergens and dietary requirements, particularly halal considerations for religious reasons.
Before ordering the lobster, my daughter specifically asked the waitress whether any of the items in their order contained any pork. The waitress confidently told my daughter, no. To their shock and disgust, a large chunk of sausage was later discovered in the salad. This immediately ruined their appetite and the celebratory nature of the evening.
The issue was brought to the attention of the staff right away, they cancelled the remainder of their order and left feeling upset and disrespected.
This experience represents more than a simple kitchen error. When staff are asked a direct question about ingredients, especially where allergies or religious observance is concerned, accuracy and honesty are essential. Providing false information, whether through negligence or lack of training, breaks trust and creates unnecessary harm.
Given the circumstances, we have requested a refund of the Gift Voucher and won’t be returning to the restaurant in the future. But know, that this was meant to be a joyful, meaningful celebration, and instead it became an experience marked by disappointment and loss of trust. I hope Randall & Aubin takes this feedback seriously and improves staff training around ingredient knowledge and dietary sensitivities, so other guests do not experience the same distress.

I had booked this restaurant as my best friend is a seafood lover. We had been out in the afternoon and were looking forward to a great meal to end a special 60th birthday celebration. I had emailed the restaurant to let them know this. Our taxi was stuck in traffic and so I called the restaurant at 8.07 to let them know we would be 5 mins. They said that was OK. We arrived at 8.13 (3 mins outside the 10 min window) but the maitre d said our table had be re allocated. I protested as I had called, but he wasn't budging and even went on to tell me how he has been doing his job for 12 years and I had to trust him in getting us another table. He said it could be a 40 minute wait. I was so upset and my best friend was less than impressed. No discretion had been used, even though I had called, and it was a 60th birthday celebration. So. If you are likely to be a couple of minutes late to the restaurant (and I had booked in advance) and are willing to chug a glass of wine outside on the street (yes, that what we were offered....) then eat here. The food and service when we were eventually seated was good but nothing made up for the initial disappointment 😞

We had a nice supper, We were given a table right next to the entry of the toilets, when asked if we could have another table the manager said no! There were better tables free all evening.
We did ask the nice waitress if the man in the waistcoat who gave us the table was the manager and she said yes!
Would I recommend this restaurant NO!

The food, the service and the atmosphere were all 5 star. Smiles all round, attention to detail fantastic. We will be going back to try even more of the sumptuous seafood and have no hesitation in recommending R&A to anyone looking for a fantastic Bistro experience.

Excellent meal with friends with super fresh seafood and attentive service. Not cheap but great value for the food and experience.

My sister and I were celebrating her Birthday 2nd August 22 and she choose the Randall & Aubin restaurant.
I called ahead and requested the seats that face out onto the road to capture the ambiance and experience.
Ref Jamie was very kind and advised that he would do what he could but it was a very busy night.
Upon arrival we did indeed have the places we requested which was lovely.
This restaurant is 10/10 we had fantastic service from the staff, thank you and the food was incredible, fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious.
I would recommend to everyone.

This has been our go to for excellent seafood for ages. However this time the restaurant stank of old fat the service was abysmal the food cold and virtually inedible. Not sure we will go again.

A most memorable experience, try the half pint of shrimps followed by the dressed crab plus a side of frites together with a granache wine. Edward the patron is passionate about the food and it shows in the exquisite dishes. One word of warning, watch the step down into the restaurant. Make sure you book before you visit this lively venue!
