Charge extortionate amounts for delivery and cant even deliver on the correct day

I Purchased a cctv system on Tuesday at approx 4pm my order was on my doorstep by 11am the following day and at a fantastic price. Totally deserved 5*

Didn't accept that a cable was faulty when it did not work for the described purpose, and refused to refund postage. Claimed that they'd tested it and didn't find anything wrong with it. The cable is definitely the problem as I have another cable which works fine.

The cable was competitively priced, works as specified, and was delivered through my letterbox (no signing, not left with a neighbour or thrown behind a bush)) in about four days. There used to be a local store which I have missed since it closed many years ago. I came across Maplin again whilst searching for a cable that would charge devices with different connectors (USB A to lightning and USB C in my case). I generally try to "shop local", but an admittedly limited attempt to find one locally led me to order online. I chose Maplin because it had the product (with a bonus connector that I might need) and was a name I was familiar with. I believe there are still a few Maplin stores, so if you can "use them don't lose them". The online experience isn't as good, but it is as good as most online experiences.

I can't believe how quickly and well packaged this arrived. Will def shop at Maplin again, and I got a Blue light discount.

The item was delivered on time. I plugged it in and it worked! What more can I say? Very pleased.

I found the Maplin customer service team to be excellent.
The cable I’d been using just stopped working for no apparent reason, Kate sent out a prepaid label straight away, I returned the cable. I waited a few days and then received a brand new cable,

Terrible customer service.
RM delivered cables to the wrong address, despite have POD proof they insisted that I had to go to the wrong address and then go to depot. Despite online and telephone conversation with RM advised the parcel was delivered, to an incorrect address.
After 2 weeks, I finally ask to escalate and complain and miraculously they refund me.
Poorest service.

Everything’s fine except the fact they use DPD and DPD left my parcel in an extremely by irresponsible location and I had to contact them whilst I was at work to get the driver to go back and make sure my parcel hadn’t been stolen. It was stressful but not maplins fault. Wish they didn’t use DPD though.

My son is camping for the weekend the site has no electric so I ordered a torch radio and charger device this is ideal no more batteries running out also his mobile phone to keep in touch with us? excellent device well made with solid rubber body and
waterproof .Well done maplin for a good emergency device for anyone to leave in your car.
