I ordered over £100 of product in March. I’m still waiting for it to be delivered or refunded . The company doesn’t even respond to my emails . Not recommended !!!

To the future review writers, no need to complain as this shop does not exist anymore, at least not in the web world. What an utter disaster after the takeover. I am still in shock that it took only a few months to run this business into the ground. Such a shame

I ordered some things of this company in Apr and have still not received them i have sent lots of contact forms and e mails and even three letters to there three to three address i could find for them. there is no phone no to be found to phone them. I would warn anybody looking on there site not to order anything

I have used Hobby Island in the past and had no problems. However, like many others I have been frustrated (to say the least) by the non arrival of orders placed in April and the complete lack of response to emails.

Then, last week I had an email saying that one of my parcels - I had made three orders - was on its way with Royal Mail, 48 hour tracked, and it did indeed arrive. There was a label from the fulfillment company so I found their phone number and rang them today. I got an extremely helpful man who said there had been difficulties with Hobby Island but that parcels were now going out from them and another company and the backlog was gradually being cleared. Instead of contacting Paypal about a dispute I am going to wait another couple of weeks to see if my other two parcels arrive.

Used to be fantastic. Latest order placed 14th April still not received.
Reached out 3 time now and no response at all!
Had to take a dispute out with paypal to get order refunded.
You will not get your order and they will not respond to emails.
I believe the company has been sold and the new owners obviously cannot be bothered.

It used to be one of the best online shops for your mosaic projects and I have been purchasing the goods from them for the last 5 years, there has never been a problem. Since the takeover, it all went downhill. Made an order April 4th, still have not received it. Apart from receiving bulk emails claiming fulfilment problems, there has been no other communication. The last email claimed the problems have been solved and they will start dispatching orders. Two and a half weeks later and, you guessed it, still no delivery. Starting my chargeback procedure with Paypal. Such a pity! It was my go to shop. I do hope that in the future they will run their business accordingly.

Order placed at the beginning of April on recommendation from someone who has used Hobby Island before. No communication. No response to emails. Nearly 2 months later still nothing. If I could give zero stars I would! Avoid.

Order latest on 1st April. No delivery and no response to any emails sent. A good business for years but since takeover a mess.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE THEIVES.

Shoddy behaviour. They take your money, but don't deliver and don't respond to queries. Don't waste your money. If I could give less than one star, I would.

I wish I had checked these reviews before ordering! Website is still up although there was a note saying orders may take longer than usual due to a new warehouse and staff training. Received a confirmation email immediately but nothing since. No goods, and no reply to my email. Nearly 4 weeks since ordering) AVOID!

It was my first time ordering from this company on April 5. Confirmation email received almost immediately, then nothing. Two weeks later I chased and had a reply from 'Eifion' apologising for the delay and offering a refund. I took him up on that but have since had no refund and no reply.
Others have had similar experiences of silence.
I did some research and discovered the company was dissolved in January! This company should not be accepting payment from customers knowing they can't fulfill orders.

ordered weeks ago. No items arrived. Many emails sent but no response at all. Think this may be a sham company as they have not given me any information at all after accepting my order and taking my money.

Awful experience as many others have noted: order was placed 10th April and they took funds immediately from my credit card. I needed the materials for a workshop on 26th April - emailed 3 times the week before asking for an update as the order had not been received. No response to emails. Also submitted a message through their online web-form and no response received to that either. No phone number to contact them on. Terrible customer service. Asked for a refund on items as I had to source alternative materials for the workshop at the last minute. Zero communication from this company. I'll be pursuing through Trading Standards and my credit card company/bank. I understand there's been a change of ownership with this company and obviously they can't deliver what is being promised.

Placed an order in March, still no tiles. Emailed, messaged on eBay, used the online chat function - no response

Found a mobile number on my Amex and called it, got a text message back saying the person owning the phone wasn’t involved with the business anymore!!

This company is to be avoided at all costs, we are taking action against them but it won’t resolve the issues it’s caused on site

A once brilliant resource they are now terrible. Order not arrived and no way of contacting- they do not answer emails. Happy to take the money though.
I have cut my losses and ordered from Crafty Glass Box and delivered in 24hrs. I have taken this up with Barclays Bank as a possible scam now and they are looking into it.
According to Companies House they went into liquidation in January but don’t know if there are new owners or what is happening!

Do not use! Order placed 7th April, after two weeks of nothing I started sending emails daily. Zero response. There is no phone number and the chat service feature appears to have been turned off. Trouble with packing/delivery I can understand, but total absence of communication I cannot. It’s not hard to send an email to all customers or post an announcement on the website. Suspect the business has gone under.

I have sent 2 emails regarding what’s happening with my order and when it’s being shipped out to me. I have had no reply whatsoever.
I ordered this on the 6th of April and it’s now the 19th? It has been 13 days and it says they ship items in 1-3 working days. They have not contacted me to say it’ll take longer or if there are any problems with my order.
I have not even been given a tracking number to track this on royal mail?
I want a refund ASAP.

Appalling company don’t waste your time ordering from them. I ordered 2 bags of caramel colored grout costing £33.73 on 27th March. Received a confirmation and my payment was taken and nothing since. Radio silence from hobby Island. No confirmation of despatch just no communication at all. I emailed on 11th April to ask where my order is and again radio silence. Not sure if this is a scam company but if not it’s the worst customer service I’ve experienced in years. There’s no phone number to contact them and if they don’t respond to emails there’s no hope. So disappointed and I guess I’ll put my loss of £33.73 down to experience and be more careful who I order from in future

I'm still hoping that my order will be delivered after waiting for 3 weeks but will have to think long and hard about ordering from this site again.I'm disappointed because it's been my go-to site for materials. The communication has been abysmal. One vague email a week ago...then radio silence.

Updated review.No delivery of goods and no reply to my email requesting a refund. I now realise that they have no intention of sending either so claiming my money back through the bank.I wish I'd done this sooner,but i stupidly kept hoping they would sort out their problems.....NEVER use this company.
