Despite the bad reviews I decided to bite the bullet and try this company, especially as I was able to checkout using PayPal which of course offers the buys protection.

I made my order at 6.30am with the intention it would be delivered the next day as advertised on their website, ordering before 2pm, next day delivery.

I paid £65 for the delivery as it’s sent DX Freight due to weight and the fast delivery.

The only email I received from this company was the receipt of the purchase. I had messaged in the morning of the day the delivery was due because I hadn’t had a dispatch email or a tracking email.

I received a text and email the next day from DX to say my delivery should arrive between 8am & 6pm. I waited in all day (for the 10hr window), with no live tracking, no tracking updates.. except for 16 minutes after the text it was scanned back into the depot after being scanned onto the van.

It wasn’t until around 7.45pm DX updated their tracking to say the package was refused “not booked in”. This indicated to me that Underlay4U didn’t do some delivery admin on their side so DX refused to deliver. I however wasn’t updated in the morning when DX decided they wouldn’t attempt delivery.

I then messaged them again this morning to grumble that delivery that was promised and paid for, for yesterday wasn’t fulfilled and requested it be delivered ASAP. I.e do their admin work which they failed to do the first time. I still received zero response but got a DX tracking update to say it was once again out for delivery.

We will soon see if it arrives. Another day waiting around.

Honestly, Underlay4U lack serious communication skills & their customer service is all but none existent. It doesn’t take much to set up an automated email system to send a email to customers when orders are dispatched, or to link it with the delivery information too so that the customer has a tracking reference they can follow. Other companies manage just fine. For this company to boast 5* ratings on Feefo and all their years experience, I somehow feel that doesn’t truly represent the true customer experience.

I can’t rate the product yet as it is still due to arrive whenever DX gets it to me. However I’m certainly positive it will be 5* compared to the service received so far from Underlay4U.

Maybe in future they could consider responding to customers and actually just emailing to apologise. The experience isn’t just receiving a product.

Trying to ring you and you never pick up the phone. I need a refund and you are not replying to emails or picking up the phone

What a fantastic service. Ordered the underlay yesterday afternoon and was with me by 5pm the next day. Brilliant quality at a great price. Delivery driver turned up I asked if would mind helping me to put the item in my car which he did no trouble at all. Very polite I would definitely recommend

Seems cheap until you see the £35 delivery charge!

Delivery was ok. In my opinion the products aren't labelled correctly on the site.

When trying to return un-opened products they will just ignore you...

Ok underlay, but expensive delivery that arrived a day after it should. Had no response from the company when I emailed to ask where it was.

Please stop using DX delivery!

The item I purchased was brilliant, well packaged and dispatched on time, HOWEVER! the delivery company these guys use are about as much use as a trap door in a canoe.

DX delivery not only didn't deliver on the requested delivery date and not contact me. They arrived an hour past the time slot I was provided the next day. The bloke got out his van, emptied it, scratched his head, phoned his mate back at the depot and ****ed off without leaving a note. I only know this cause I watched him out my window and phoned this company to be told there was a 'mistake' on delivery.. Pretty dumb driving almost 100 miles from a depot in Plymouth without my parcel.

Finally received my parcel and I am now 2 days behind schedule and running out of my days off!

STOP USING DX DELIVERY!

I arranged for 7 roll to be delivered in a Friday, in preparation for our carpet fitter who was coming in Sunday. Waited in all day and didn’t hear anything. When I checked later that night, tracking system said ‘wrong address’. Checked my order and I hadn’t given wrong address, they emailed stating they would find out what happened. Underlay turned up Monday, no warning! Driver wasn’t even going to help get the 7 rolls out of the van! Very poor customer service and has delayed our moving date significantly. Never did hear back about ‘wrong address’.

Brought and paid for 4 rolls of underlay, they only delivered 3 rolls. Sent them 5 emails and not even one reply. Tried to call them but can't even get through. What Customer service? there isn't any by the looks of it. Shop at your own risk really.

Excellent value for money and excellent service. Will definately be using them again!

First class service,excellent help and advice with choice of carpets, underlay and door plates, all of my emails were answered straight away with answers to all questions. Extra samples sent out on request. My order was delivered in perfect order on the day stated at time of ordering. I would recommend underlay4u and would certainly order from them again.

if i was to reccomend anything to improve your service it would be to suggest stronger end caps for the tubes containing the gripper rods.

underlay much cheaper than carpet right. my underlay cost under £3.00 per sq meter, same underlay at carpet right £8.99 per sq meter.

Underlay delivered when they said it would be. Website advice spot on. Competitive pricing. Will be using again.
