3rd time eating in the Albert square Manchester-food was fabulous & our servers Ashley & hollie were friendly,knowledgeable & gave service with a smile.Cant wait to go again

I can only review based on my experience of applying for a job. If somebody takes part in a two interview process, the very least you should do is to let people know if they have been successful or not. It's incredibly bad to leave people waiting. Would not recommend this company.

Came for a double birthday dinner celebration, our party had the fried sea bream, one had the £16 January set meal for 1 and other items small plates, large plates and sides from the menu, prices not bad and there are lots of offers like "Happy Hour" and lunch offers; our server was Joey and Harry was the barman. Both of these staff member's did an excellent job with our cocktails and drinks (thanks so much!) Thanks you guys (enjoy the tip). We bought 2 cakes but as the cakes were brought out, there was no 'Happy Birthday' music and no song either so we had to initiate it for ourselves ? just an idea guys for future do you have karaoke ? Very good, professional staff! Nothing was a problem we were satisfied and we were even supplied boxes and bags for the food left over. Wheelchair accessible venue.

Worse experience ever! I am never going back to this place. We went to the one in Trafford centre in Manchester. Told the server there was seven of us, server then took us to a table for 6 (after waiting for about 10 mins) and said we would need to split because they didn’t realise there were seven of us. Even though we told them there were seven of us.

When I said that we told them there was seven of us they said there was nothing they could do and if we wanted to sit together we would have to wait another 15 mins. We went with 4 young kids so waiting for another 15 mins was not an option so we had to sit separately.

Then I ordered an egg fried rice and there was no egg in it. Not a single piece. It was basically soy sauce rice. I checked with the server to see if they had given me a different t rice by mistake but was told this was egg fried rice. I pointed out that there was no egg in it and showed them the untouched food. I was literally starving at this point and didn’t want to stay here any longer than necessary so just ate it.

When we were leaving one server pushed pass me when I was walking out with my pushchair instead of politely waiting for me to pass. The staff here are rude and incompetent. Do not waste your time here, there are far better options at Trafford Centre, never making that mistake again.

I recently had a terrible experience at Tampopo in the Trafford Centre and feel compelled to share my frustration. I had my 3-year-old daughter with me, who is a very fussy eater and only eats specific chips from a nearby restaurant. I brought the chips in with us, thinking it wouldn’t be an issue, but as soon as I walked in, the waiter was incredibly rude and told me my daughter couldn’t have the chips in the restaurant. Before I could even sit down, I was informed about this policy in a harsh manner.

I explained that my daughter only eats those chips, but the waiter was unhelpful. I asked to speak with the manager, hoping for some understanding, but the manager was equally defensive and didn’t offer any assistance. The whole situation was frustrating and uncomfortable, and it felt like they didn’t care about accommodating a child’s needs.

In the end, we decided to leave without eating, as we were treated poorly. It’s incredibly disappointing that a restaurant would prioritize policy over customer care, especially when it comes to a child’s special eating preferences. I won’t be returning to Tampopo again, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a welcoming, family-friendly environment.

What went right? Nothing. We ate at the Wimbledon branch of Tampopo in November. Despite emailing them many times, they have failed to respond. Clearly they don't value customer feedback and simply don't want to deal with complaints. The service that evening was atrocious - the servers were more interested in cleaning the place, rather than serving customers. We had to ask 4 times for drinks and when my meal eventually arrived, it was inedible. I sent it back, but there was no offer of a replacement. No one came to check if the food was ok. Furthermore, they charged me for it on the bill and added 12.5% service charge all for the privilege. We won't ever be going back and certainly won't be suggesting that others do so either. There are lots of eateries to choose from in Wimbledon, but if the food and service are both dire, it's only a matter of time before they close. The writing is on the wall.

I was served by Emily at the Trafford Centre Manchester branch & my overall experience was quite poor. I was on my own & felt like Emily was quite rude to me in comparison to all the other customers she attended. I noticed that she introduced herself, had a smile on her face, conversed & just generally was incredibly pleasant with other customers that she served.
In any other situation I would not have been bothered but there was such a stark comparison in her behaviour towards me and she blatantly made zero effort in trying to be friendly to me. She also outright forgot about me - she simply didn't return to me until I made an effort to call her out. We made eye contact several time but she didn't bothered to serve me once she had left me with my food.

When I stood up to leave, I noticed that the older female staff member loitering around me didn't bother to smile or say goodbye to me. Small details like this may be insignificant to staff but make a big difference to their customers.
I believe I was friendly with all the staff initially but simply felt like I was forgotten during my time there and it was generally quite an upsetting experience.

had a terrible experience on NY'S eve. I have emailed multiple times and no one has got back to me. Prior to this I had been to the restaurant several times. I will not be returning! terrible customer service and poor management

Awful curry loaded fries - soggy and with cheese stringing throughout
The nasi goreng was flavoured cold tomato rice with bland marinated thigh and cold boiled egg
Pad Thai was ‘all right’ acording to my wife

Rip off. Don't bother. Got conned 10.00 too for a dish we didn't ask for. Mediocre food.

First time at Tampopo at Trafford Centre. Food was great. Good portion size and great value for money. Waitress, Shell, was first class, friendly and attentive. Highly recommended.

We went to the Tampopo, in Manchester, a couple of weeks ago. The food choices were ideal and the service was impeccable. Thanks Lottie!
The restaurant is set out really well and has a great vibe. The gin and tonic was the best I'd had for a long time and the food was absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend the pork belly starter.

Had a lovely evening at Tampopo Wimbledon. Areeb our lovely waiter looked after us brilliantly. Lively atmosphere and good service. Will definitely return.

Very small portions, don’t recommend.

Never had a bad experience here, it’s mine and my girlfriend safe option.
The food is always good and the price although a little expensive, is still cheaper than a lot of other places.
The atmosphere is nice and relaxed if you go at a less busy time and the staff are always super friendly.
My only downside is the dessert we love, the chocolate lava cake, is often not available at the one we go too in Manchester Exchange Square, I’d say 50% of the time.
Would defo recommend.

I was emailed a voucher from Tampopo saying you get 4 free drinks at the Trafford centre Tampopo, on your birthday. When we went, they told us they can't honour it.
A trick to get you into the restaurant? Well it worked on us and as a result the bill was very expensive.

Food was great. Loved the laksa.

Service from Mike and Shia was brilliant as were a large group and wanted to share the meals

Fave place ever! Food is always on point! Helped me with my disabled child and got us a great table with easy access!
