Safestore - Gateshead Recenzje 

Be aware your invoice is generated 2 weeks in advance I have given my 14 days notice (before my next invoice is die) and they are charging me a full month because they are saying you can't give notice mid cycle as they have already produced the next invoice) why should the customer be held responsible for their early invoice. They are now charging me another £236 even tho my 14 days notice is in writing. They also are charging me insurance for the next 40days even tho I've told them the init will be empty by 9th Sep (last day of my notice) so I'm paying expensive insurance for an empty unit. When you sign up they say it's mandatory to take the insurance it's not you can get your own which is £30 cheaper they just 'forget to tell you that'
Will never use this facility again.

Right from first walking in the staff were friendly, efficient and informative. I was shown the unit, helped with setting up the account. Any questions were answered. We were able to empty the unit and close the account which was achieved quickly and smoothly. The site is clean and tidy and once everything is set up extremely easy to access and use. Would happily recommend.

Martin at the Gateshead centre was friendly and offered good professional advice tailored to our budget and spacial needs. The facility was tidy and fully accessible with good security, putting our minds at ease. From our initial experience to date, I’d recommend Gateshead Safestore to our friends.

As I have never used safestore before I was very impressed with the way everything was explained to me ..very very polite customer service .. everything was clean well organised..I would certainly recommend this firm ...so thank you Kieran ..Sam and Candice for your excellent reassurance that our goods are safe..and secure 👍

The staff have been lovely and helpful. Martin gave me a great welcome to the site and Candice has been extremely helpful.
The site is also very clean and well looked after.

The quote I got was for £62 for a pallet for 8 weeks but the guy on the phone “forgot” to mention the wrapping fee as well (Another £10ish) so total was more like £72. The lady in the store was nice though and lowered it down to £67 for me.

After positing my original review they contacted me and said that they listened to the voice recording and they did in fact say 62 not 52 but would not send it to me until I requested it under GDPR with the Privacy team and didn’t even tell me that was an option. Jusr said they wouldn’t send it as it “is for internal use only”. Odd. But I read the Privacy Policy and they sent it.
They were correct though I miss heard the 62 as 52 but it sounds VERY similar in the recording and didn’t help that when I said “so 56 quid?” The guy replied “yeah” but said then 62.

GDPR people were quick. People in store were nice. Don’t really appreciate the adding £10 or having to get the GDPR team involved to get the recording though.

Original review:
I called Safestore Gateshead and was quoted £50 for 8 weeks pallet storage at the Gateshead store. I even asked if that was the full price and was told yes.
So then later that day I went to the store and the lady told me to unload my stuff while the contract was being generated which she said would take some time.

So after I have unloaded everything I go to pay my £50 and she tells me it is £75. A 50% increase. So she tells me that the £50 the guy said on the phone was actually £56 and the guy has read the price without VAT so it is £67. And then on top of that there is a £8 wrapping fee.

Neither of these were said on the phone but it was now 16:40 and I have already unloaded everything so do not have time to go anywhere else. It was my last day in Gateshead so had to have stuff moved by the end of that day.
The lady in the store was nice so I ended up paying £67 which is 35% more than it should have been.

This feels like an obvious setup. The quote is a lie to entice you in and then lady at the store tells me to unload so that by the time I am done unloading and realise I am being scammed everywhere else is shut.
