Excellent customer service, time will tell on the boots
Went in for a pair of walking boots. The range mounted onto a pillar near the back of the shop downstairs didn't look promising in the first instance. But Gavin who assisted me brought out boots not on display. He was very helpful and had lots of sensible advice without being at all pushy. He was very patient as I dithered about, and I've hopefully come away with a pair of boots I'll be happy with (time will tell with these things!)

We had an excellent customer service…
We had an excellent customer service from the store representative named LEE he had given us an important and effective advice in choosing the right hiking gear we needed for our Son.
He was friendly and extremely patient answering all my queries and given us honest answers.
He got an excellent customer service who go above and beyond in order to help first time hiking customer like us.
We will surely direct the rest of our family friends who’s children joining these hiking expeditions.

I was served by Gavin at the Blacks shop in Holborn. He was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable and having previously (yesterday) visited Cotswold Outdoors and Mountain Warehouse, I managed to be properly fitted for my walking boots.

hiking boots at Holborn
I was helped by a guy who was an expert in footwear and had been with the company for 20 years! I am sorry I cannot remember his name. He looked quite young for his length of service and was extremely funny and helpful - from measuring my feet to general advice, care of the boots and cheap solutions for leather etc. He even looked for a way to give me a discount and when I found my work badge that also worked out. What can I say, great experience!

wonderful service from the team
Really wonderful service from the team in blacks Holborn. Henna and Tas helped me pick some last minute gifts to take home with me this Christmas and was even a lovely touch to be given gift receipts for the items. I really enjoyed the service they gave, with the manager offering to wrap my presents as I’m useless at that kind of stuff. Left me leaving the store with everything I needed. Such a lovely touch, will be back for my own shopping in the new year. Merry Christmas

Camping holiday prep
I had been invited to a camping holiday and decided to find some items in Blacks for my trip. Georgina was very knowledgeable about the best footwear and jackets. She even mentioned things I didn't even think of. She is a real credit to the Blacks brand.

Total stroke of luck to have come across your store. Got all the things I’d been looking for under one roof.. Tas was amazing- she went over and beyond. Honestly can’t tell you how refreshing it is to come across this type of customer service in London!

Lucas was so greatly helpful from the moment we walked in to Black's Holborn Chancery Lane. We asked for help with insoles and he immediately had reccomendations for my size, and also knew the product well so based on my bottom ankle blisters felt one would be better than the other. Despite not having my normal size he had an intuition about which product would work for me in smaller sizing based on the fit and friction in my current shoe. He was right!! He saved the day seriously as without him I wouldn't have been able to walk around London as my ankles were starting to really blister up. Lucas was a complete pleasure and so friendly and had a wonderful way about him. Definitely move this man up, he is a gem. Thank you!

Online ordering service and user…
Online ordering service and user experience is excellent.
However, when returning an item in-store this took quite a long time, as the member of staff had to ring a customer service number to get details on the order (even though I had the printed receipt with me).
Blacks would have received 5 stars otherwise.
