I wasted an entire afternoon trying to download and then get rid of the "free" 15 day AutoCAD trial, which did not work at all. It would not let me use the program unless I first paid for... Zobacz więcej

Better never use their services. There are better software which are not as ridiculously priced. The subscription model is also a complete scam to get as much money from you as they can.

the most inefficient customer service…
the most inefficient customer service i've ever encountered! terrible! terrible! terrible!
I paid for the renewal
I paid for the renewal, this is the last term, and I got the "expired subscription" message less than a month after the payment.
support options are either not available or doesn't exist, for such expensive software I would have assumed I would have better support, then I come here to get shocked by the rating of this huge company.
what a monopoly, stay away from such companies, I am going to transition to FreeCAD v1.0
Autodesk's Utterly Useless 'Customer Service'
I've had some bad ones over the years, but boy oh boy Autodesk's 'customer support' service is by some distance the worst that I have ever experienced. In a time-critical situation, I have just had to endure over five hours of endless time-wasting phone calls to it in one, single afternoon... and the company is still incapable of sorting out my purchasing a copy of AutoCAD LT.
I assume that the only reason the company is still in business is because, particularly in respect of AutoCAD, it effectively has a market monopoly.
If I could give Autodesk minus five stars, I would. And if you can get by without its software, I suggest you do.
Bad customer support
Bad customer support. Always makes you wait for dealing an urgent issue. The chat support is only answering service they will pass you to their expert which would take at least a day to respond.
Bugs around every corner
Bugs around every corner, especially when you get into 3D modelling such as Civil3D.
Autodesk should be ashamed, the software has been around for over 40 years and they've bought out all their competetors along the way to make a frankenstien software that does everything badly.
Unless you know how to navigate your way round the bugs you will quickly loose patience with this piece of garbage.
Disappointed
I have been using Autodesk Inventor, Powermill, and Fusion360 on a daily basis for many years. They are not just bad, they are awful. They are all full of bugs, slow, ancient graphics and no customer support.
If you want to make a switch from other software packages and platforms, DON'T!
All Autodesk products will disappoint you.
The worst parts of the cloud.... but on your PC!
Updates that change everything but provides nothing.
Extrusion errors gallor.
Nothing seems to work properly, using this on a daily basis is causing people depression.
Linked to the cloud for no other purpose but monetization. It would be such a more pleasant experience if this was just an offline program.
If you got this program 15 years ago it would work better than it does today.
I really wish that Autodesk would realize that they've made enough money on us, already.
I have to use AutoCAD everyday and I am also a confined fan of Revit. I say "confined fan" because I feel like I'm in a software prison due to the lack of other options in the CADD/CAM market. SketchUp is not much better when it comes to pricing and it doesn't hold a candle to the features of Revit.
My biggest gripe (since I haven't yet had the pleasure of dealing with the Customer Service side) is the price. I still can't understand why these programs are so incredibly expensive. There is no way that the prices of these programs directly reflect the amount of work/labor hours put into any one of the many titles in the Autodesk library with a little profit tossed on top. No, the reflection is "We want the customer to pay for the software EVERY YEAR, full stop...no cares given." Ever since Autodesk moved to the subscription model, Autodesk has taken it on themselves to charge slightly less than a perpetual license used to cost, only now it's yearly. Really horrible decision on their part, yet we have little to no other options.
This entire scenario reminds me of the Adobe fiasco but that's an entirely different review. I gave this review 3-stars because the software (when it works properly), is really good. It does 95% of everything I need it to do and about 75% of what I want it to do. I realize that no CADD/CAM software will be perfect but at this point, I'm very close to switching to SolidWorks and/or SketchUp for 3D Architectural modeling and ArchiCAD (or some other equivalent) for my 2D drafting. The sad part is, those programs are annual renewal licenses also, if I recall correctly. This doesn't solve the licensing problem but it will get me out from under the Autodesk umbrella that is currently choking me and my company to extinction.
Dear Autodesk,
I used to love you and sing your praises. Now you've gotten insanely greedy and unforgivably lazy. Please fix your problems, for your sake as well as ours. I would happily pay for annual licenses, if they were priced appropriately. Please give us perpetual licenses back, PLEASE! Plus, I'd go back to singing your praises again; if you'd train your Customer Service Techs to actually fix problems instead of blaming the Customer or the Computer.
Sincerely,
A long-time Autodesk using Drafter/Designer.
P.S.: I checked the box to send this review to you (Autodesk), in hopes that you'll actually read it and respond to it by doing better as a company. Please, do better Autodesk. You owe it to all of us who've held you in the highest of regards for all of these years. Please, do better!
A Masterclass in Wasting Time
Autodesk, where do I even begin? Using your software is like stepping into a time machine - straight back to the early 2000s when clunky, user-hostile tools were all the rage. It's genuinely impressive how a company as big as Autodesk manages to consistently miss the mark. Let me break it down for you:
1. Desktop Connector: A Tool Built to Torment IT Admins
Let’s talk about your Desktop Connector, a name that promises seamless integration but delivers pure frustration. Updates? Oh no, that’s too advanced! Instead of a simple auto-update process, we’re forced to summon an IT administrator to perform the task. Because obviously, everyone loves stopping productive work to deal with a broken "connector" that refuses to update without someone in IT dropping everything to help.
You’d think Autodesk would have learned from, I don’t know, every other software company on the planet that this isn’t how modern tools work. But no, Desktop Connector proudly sticks to its archaic, time-wasting principles. Bravo!
2. Jobprocessor.exe: A Dinosaur That Refuses to Die
And then there’s the Job Processor, the tool that’s somehow even more annoying. The fact that it can’t run as a service in 2024 is downright embarrassing. What century are we in? I mean, who at Autodesk thought, "Let’s make sure our admins / users babysit this thing by keeping a user permanently logged in"?
Yes, Autodesk expects you to waste precious time ensuring the Job Processor is running in an active session because running it as a background service—the obvious solution—is not supported. Of course, there’s no official alternative or workaround. Instead, we’re left to duct-tape a solution together with tools like NSSM, which Autodesk will surely tell us is “unsupported” the moment we have a problem.
3. ODIS: Reinventing the Wheel—But as a Square
And now, let’s talk about ODIS (On-Demand Installation Service), a tool that’s so bad it makes Desktop Connector look competent. Why use a lightweight, reliable .msi installer when you can force users to deal with a bloated, buggy custom installer?
Want to install Autodesk products? Be prepared for ODIS to:
Fail randomly during downloads.
Take forever to install even the smallest updates.
Throw cryptic errors that only a full-time Autodesk support team could decipher (spoiler: they won’t).
Once ODIS crashes—and it will—it leaves your installation in limbo. Do you reinstall? Pray to the Autodesk gods? Who knows! All I know is that ODIS is a masterclass in making admins hate their lives.
The “Customer Experience”
Using Autodesk Vault feels less like using software and more like being held hostage by outdated tools that Autodesk refuses to modernize. The cherry on top? Support that seems utterly uninterested in fixing any of these glaring issues.
Bottom Line
Autodesk Vault is the perfect solution if your goal is to:
Waste time calling IT for unnecessary updates.
Babysit ancient tools that don’t work as services.
Burn productivity and money on a toolset that feels like it belongs in a museum.
If you’re in the market for inefficiency, frustration, and tools designed to make your life harder, look no further! Autodesk Vault and its supporting cast (Desktop Connector, Job Processor, ODIS) have got you covered.
Sincerely,
A thoroughly disgruntled IT Admin
Autodesk is scam company
I worked with Autodesk since 2009. It WAS great program. I used Inventor and then thx to crazy prices I went for Autodesk Fusion 360.
Unfortunatelly I ended to use it because of their agresive and scam tactics.
I bought licence as usuall and during that time when I was using it they just stopped to provide statics analysis and wanted extra credits to pay for it. INCREDIBLE!! This is illegall. You buy some product with all its features and they just reconsider it and take it from you because they want more and more money.
This has made the entire Autodesk company a very unreliable partner for me and I hope they come to their senses someday, or at least they will just stop to exist. See this topic on their forum to find out whole problem and that I am one from many: "Fusion 360 - Cloud solving will be the only option available for all simulation"
I use Fusion 360 professionally.
I use Fusion 360 professionally.
They are becoming increasingly woke. They push constant updates with no apparent improvement and that disrupt your workflow.
Would switch in a heartbeat if there were any other software available that could match the product despite it's many faults. Like the definition of joints... it's a f*king joke.
And don't get me started on rendering, animation etc.
I hate big government and big companies. When will they understand that their days are doomed?
Not professional
They changed their process and force you to create a new TP supplier. You can't even work directly with them. Ridiculously difficult to get any kind of straight answer from this company! Appaling
Excessively difficult to remove Autodesk Genuine Service
I've uninstalled all Autodesk programs and also wanted to uninstall Autodesk Genuine Service. As it turns out, this is almost impossible.
Autodesk's suggested process for this consists of 11 steps and outrageously features a disclaimer that some of the steps are carried out "only at your own risk" (the page is called "How to perform a Clean Uninstall of Autodesk products on Windows" and would have been included here if Trustpilot allowed it).
In other words Autodesk Genuine Service is a PUP, Potentially Unwanted Program. This is completely unacceptable from any serious software developer.
Avoid the entire Autodesk suite at all costs.
Too many wrong things and old product…
Too many wrong things and old product in new bottle!! Autodesk but I'm out after a year subscription to AutoCAD LT, it was a horrific experience of nothing but problems. And their customer support blows big time. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere for you cad needs. This company ain't worth a crap.
Greedy business with buggy software, poor support, and abusive practices
Forced, overpriced subscriptions with virtually no support unless you pay extra (!). Installs "Autodesk Genuine Service" without your consent, blocks uninstallation, must allegedly uninstall all remaining Autodesk software and wait 2 weeks for it to get "disabled" (!). Inventor breaks the Windows context menu (after installing Inventor, Explorer crashes whenever we right-click DWG files) and cannot be separately uninstalled, it forces you to uninstall multiple Autodesk programs including DWG TrueView (?!). Installations, updates, and uninstallations create/leave huge C:\Autodesk folder full of garbage (our was 20+ GB after unintalling all Autodesk software). After uninstalling all Autodesk software, Explorer immediatelly stopped crashing when right-clicking DWG files.
AutoCAD Renewal
I paid my 12 month subscription for Fusion and AutoCAD LT on the 29th June 2024, the money left my account. I kept getting emails saying I hadn't paid but ignore if I had paid (sent in error). Yesterday I had my licenses stopped and I am trying to get them back, The online and phone services are hopeless. I've used AutoCAD since 2001, I think its time to try someone else.
Products are expensive, but lack features
Their products are very expensive, but often lack essential features that would be trivial to implement.
And they often neglect issues for a long time, sometimes for years!
