PURCHASED ITEM

PURCHASED ITEM. DID NOT KNOW ONLY WAY THEY COMMUNICATE WAS ONLINE VIA A CHAT BOT. TRIED MANY TIMES. WROTE A MESSAGE BUT THE FUNCTION TO UPLOAD MY COMMENTS WAS NOT WORKING. EVENTUALLY OUT OF SHEER FRUSTRATION, STRESS AND EXHAUSTION. SENT THEM AN EMAIL REGARDING THIS. ONLY TO BE TOLD THEY HAVE (3) CHAT BOTS AND THEY COULD NOT SEE MY COMMENTS LISTED, IN ANY OF THEM. WHICH WAS A VERY STUPID RESPONSE. AS HOW COULD THEY SEE WHEN NOT THEIR CHAT BOT WAS NOT WORKING? HENCE EMAILING THEM. KEPT TELLING ME NO MESSAGES FROM WHERE THEY ARE DISPLAYED IN ANY (3) OF THEIR CHAT BOT. AGAIN. SOLE PURPOSE OF EMAILING INSTEAD. TOLD THAT THE PROBLEM MUST BE AT MY END. EVEN THOUGH PRIOR I HAD ANOTHER CHAT BOT CONVERSATION, DIFFERENT COMPANY WHICH WENT WELL. I EXPLAINED IN MY EMAIL THAT I AM SEVERELY DISABLED AND NAVIGATING A WEBSITE IS NOT SOMETHING I CAN DO WITH MY TWO NEUROLOGICAL CONDITIONS. WHEN BEING TOLD AGAIN, IT MUST BE AT MY END. I SENT THEM A SCREENSHOT OF HOW THE CHAT BOT WAS PRESENTING. THEY CONFORMED THAT BY SENDING ME A SCREEN SHOT BACK ASKING IF I COULD SEE THE BUTTON TO UPOAD THE COMMENTS. ALTHOUGH THEY HAD CONFIRMED THEY HAD SEEN MY SCREEN SHOT BUT IN RESPONSE TO THAY SENT ME AN EMAIL WITH SUPPOSEDLY A SCREEN SHOT OF THEIR CHAT BOT THEIR END. IN THEIR EMAIL, IT WAS NOT SHOWING THE IMAGE OF THEIR CHAT BOT. EXPLAINED IF NOT HAPPY, WILL SEND OUT A RETURNS LABEL (SAME EMAIL). THERE STUPID ATTEMPT TRYING TO PROVE IT WAS AN ISSUE AT MY END NOT THEIRS TOTALLY BACKFIRED AS IT ONLY DISPLAYING A BROKEN IMAGE ICON. ASKED EXACTLY WHAT WAS MY ENQUIRY. EXPLAINED I WANTED TO EXCHANGE MY ORIGINAL PURCHASE WITH BUYING A BETTER CUE AND ADDITIONAL ITEMS. ONLY AT THAT POINT, KNOWING I WAS WANTING TO SPEND MORE MONEY WAS WHEN THAT THEY STARTED TO BE NICER AND ACT MORE PROFESSIONAL AND HELPFUL. ALSO STOPPED TELLING ME THE ISSUE WAS AT MY END. ONLY TO RECEIVE AN EMAIL BACK TO THE WHICH WAS COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL ON SO MANY LEVELS. TOOK OFFENSE FOR ME MENTIONING HOW I FELT MY EXPERIENCE HAD BEEN. STARTED TO CORRECT ME “THE CUSTOMER”, SAYING THAT THEY HAD BEEN PROFESSIONAL BEFORE I MENTIONED I WANTED TO SPEND SOME MORE MONEY. SURELY I AM THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN EXPRESS HOW “I FEEL” WHICH IS NOT UP FOR DEBATE. TELLING ME AGAIN I WAS WRONG FOR FEELING THAT WAY. THAT THEY TOTALLY DISAGREED. SENT A VERY STROPY EMAIL. DENIED THEIR BEHAVIOUR AGAIN MENTIONED SENDING A RETURNS LABEL. GIVEN WHAT I HAD EXPERIENCED UP TO THAT POINT. WHICH WAS ALMOST MET WITH BOXING GLOVES AND DENYING THAT THEIR CHAT BOT WAS WORKING (EXACTLY LIKE THIS ONE IS NOW). I’M SO ANNOYED, THAT ITS NOT MADE CLEAR THAT YOU CANNOT GET TO SPEAK TO A ‘PERSON” UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. HAD OF KNOWN THAT FROM THE VERY START, I WOULD NOT HAVE GONE WITH THIS COMPANY. ADDITIONALLY, VERY LIMITED OTHER RELATED ITEMS. DO NOT PROVIDE AN ENGRAVING SERVICE, AS MOST - IF NOT ALL OTHER SIMILAR COMPANIES. I’D LOVE TO SEND THIS ITEM BACK FOR A FULL REFUND. YET ITS A VERY STRICT RULES FOR A REFUND (EG. TIP OF CUE HAD NOT BEEN TOUCHED IN ANY CAPACITY). WHEREBY THEY WILL NOT REFUND YOU THE MONEY YOU’VE PAID IN GOOD FAITH GIVEN THE LEVEL OF UNPROFESSIONALISM WAS CERTAINLY CONSISTENT. I DO NOT TRUST THEM. AND BELIEVE THEY WOULD USE (1) OF THE RULES OF REFUND TO DENY ME A FULL REFUND. YET IF I WAS TO SEND IT BACK AND IT GOT DAMAGED IN TRANSIT WHICH IS A STRONG POSSIBILITY. I WOULD NOT GET SAID REFUND ALBEIT I HAVE NOT EVEN OPEN IT FROM ITS ORIGINAL PACKAGING. MANY SHOPS ARE ALL ONLINE NOWADAYS, BEING DISABLED/ HOUSEBOUND I’M AT THE COMPLETE MERCY OF THE COMPANY I’M DEALING WITH. GENUINELY BELIEVE GIVEN THE VERY CONTENTIOUS ATTITUDE THEY WOULD FIND ANY EXCUSE NOT TO REFUND ME. IF YOU HAVE AN ONLINE SERVICE ONLY YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE A SCREEN READING SERVICE AND/OR A DESCRIPTIVE LINK FOR THOSE THAT HAVE TROUBLE COMMUNICATING WHATS WRITTEN.
FOR PEOPLE WHO CANNOT READ FOR WHATEVER REASON. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS PURCHASE AND HOW THEY TREATED SOMEONE WHO EXPLAINED READING THAT I AM NOT ABLE TO PROCESS THE INFORMATION HENCE NEEDING EXTRA ASSISTANCE. BY EMAILING I HAVE TO ALSO WRITE BACK TO THEM AND ANOTHER THING EXPLAINED I WAS DYSLEXIC AND EMAILING IS EVEN HARDER THAN NAVIGATING THEIR WEBSITE. DEFINITELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO EVERYONE AND WOULD ALSO ENCOURAGE THEM NOT TO USE IT IN THE FIRST PLACE. THE WHOLE TIME DEALING WITH THE INSANITY DID ACTUALLY MAKE ME ILL AND ENDED UP THROWING UP, WHEN TRYING TO DEAL WITH A PURCHASE AN ITEM FROM THEM. TOTALLY STUPID YOU CANNOT GET TO SPEAK TO A PERSON. CUTTING CORNERS, IN ADVANCE THEIR PROFIT MARGINS BY USING TECHNOLOGY ONLY AND ABOVE ALL OTHER WAYS TO COMMUNICATE. YET I AM
NOW STUCK WITH THEIR PRODUCT AND ANNOYED I HAVE PAID FOR SUCH A POOR AND EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL CONDUCT. AVOID USING THEM LIKE THE PLAUGE.

Riley 11 3/4 cut is a great purchase. A superb cue.

Decided to change my Riley cue which I have had for nearly 40 years and purchased a Riley 11 3/4 cut. What a lovely cue, the craftsmanship is great and the feel and look of the cue is fantastic.

Cue is good but for the small tables (…

Cue is good but for the small tables ( pool, smaller size snooker table) and not for a full size snooker table, I had ordered a 9.5 size tip but it came with 9. Service was good.

Missing gift pack

Delivery was quick and efficient. Product good but was supposed to come with a free gift package which was not added. Therefore actually cost 10% more than it was supposed to.

Pool table and table tennis set

Had the Luke littler pool table set for the kids for Xmas.

While the table is great. The dart board if far to high to use and the pool cues and table tennis bats are quite poor and I have had to order better 1s to use

Please avoid Riley as a brand - shocking customer service

We ordered one of the premium fold up tables for our two boys as their main Christmas present.

On Christmas Eve we got the table out to assemble, ready for them to play on Christmas Day. On putting the table together, we noticed that there was a manufacturing issue (not a missing part, but a thread to connect table & leg together hadn't been fitted). This is pretty important to ensure the table can be put together, and meant we were not able to have our boys present for them to play on Christmas Day.

If that wasn't bad enough, the customer service trying to get that resolved has been shocking! You cannot speak to anyone on the phone (through any number). We emailed after Christmas, then chased 2nd Jan, 4th Jan. Nothing. I'd also been on live chat - silence. Turns out, Riley take 2 weeks off for Christmas - not even skeleton staff!! I've never known a retailer be unavailable over what would be a busy period where people are buying sales items, or have issues with Christmas orders.

We were then advised after much chasing, that parts would be delivered. A few days later, they sent us the wrong legs!! So more chasing, more delays, we've only just had the parts, 19 days later. The table looks so so, not premium at all.

I would avoid Riley like the plague, I used to go to their pool halls and buy their cues, but that was 20 years ago, they are a poorly run brand now.

P.S. I rarely ever take time to leave reviews, that's how annoyed and disappointed I am with our customer experience - can see many others think the same.

We are genuinely sorry for the disappointment this has caused, especially given it was intended as a Christmas present for your boys — we completely understand how upsetting that must have been.

Just to clarify a couple of points: we were not closed for two weeks over Christmas. Our offices were closed for the three working days between Christmas and New Year, reopening on 2nd January. From that date, our customer services team were in ongoing contact and worked to resolve the issue as efficiently and swiftly as possible, ultimately sending the correct replacement parts to ensure the table is fully functional.

We do regret that incorrect parts were initially sent, which added to the delay, and we apologise for the frustration this caused.

The 5ft Folding Pool Table you ordered is one of our very best sellers, loved by many happy customers over the years.

We strive to offer the very best customer service and pride ourselves on the quality of our products, so it is disappointing to hear that we did not meet your expectations.

Your feedback has been shared internally so we can continue to improve.
