Great experience

I used several time PR for Books services and that was effective and very qualitative.
It creates many opportunities such as radio interviews, podcast and articles in different countries.
I could only recommend PR for Books.

Nicholas and his team were very easy to deal with from the outset. While I appreciate no PR is ever guaranteed this is a great way for unknown authors to get their name across the desks of people who might be able to help elevate their book. The price of this service is so competitive it is rude to ignore the opportunity!

Featured on BBC television, Radio and online news!

I reached out to PRforbooks to help spread the word about my book 'The Other Trench'. The initial press release was great and really made the unique aspects of my book stand out. After a few weeks of only a few emails, I contacted PRforbooks and decided to tweak the supporting email, which included the press release, to make it more personal and help catch the reader's attention.
After 2 days of sending it out again, I was contacted by the BBC in the UK, who ended up headlining one of the unique stories from my book on regional TV news! They also wrote an online article which featured my book, and I was invited for a radio interview. My book website received 2000 visitors in just a week. With my book being self-published, I sold a significant number of books just from this, and the sales are still 5x higher per day a few weeks later than they initially were before all this. People from military magazines and other groups have contacted me too as a result, so it has had a positive domino effect.

I do keep in mind that my book is not for everyone and that not all who received the press release will be interested. My book is now available in Germany, and I am certainly excited to see what may happen when they help me send the press release out there.

I wouldn't have been featured on BBC News and sold so many books if it wasn't for PRforbooks. I can therefore only give 5 stars! Thank you.

My novel was gathering dust ...

My novel was gathering dust in the back alleys of Amazon Kindle, with a number of good reviews under its belt but no real traffic. I'd resigned myself to the marketing mechanisms within Kindle but these had severe limitations. It was obvious that I needed the help of a PR company. This is when I found PR for Books. (prforbooks.co.uk). This company has many connections in the literary world, newspapers, magazines etc and will write a compelling promotional script to send out to these bodies. They can also produce a short trailer (at a very modest price) to give a high octane kick to this publicity. I was blown over by their professionalism and extremely reasonable costs and am currently hoping that their strategies will reap the results that we authors all crave.

Silence doesn't come cheap.

I employed PR for Books to assist me with publicity and promotion of my novel 'Maria Novotna' A love story that mirrors the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. This was at the beginning of September this year. So far I have received Nil response from anyone despite its claimed global reach, Nil interest from reviewers, Nil interest from the media, Nil coverage in journals, and as far as I'm aware Nil interest from doctors waiting rooms. Worst still, absolutely no contact from PR for books themselves. In fact I had to check one day to make sure I wasn't dead. As they say 'Silence is Golden'

Naturally, we are sorry to hear your feedback but we do not feel this is a very fair review. You were informed on September 16th that, to arrange the October part of the campaign, you need to email us a day or so before you would like this scheduled. You did not email us at all and have not since?. In addition, we did secure a magazine article for you and we sent the link to the article on the same day (16th September at 11.50). A brilliant and speedy service

A brilliant and speedy service. I've been writing books for a few years now and Glenn and his team have always been my go to. They turn around releases and tweaks very quickly and I've managed to secure top tier media coverage of my books through their service in both the UK and US. Would definitely use again, and again.

Avoid PR for Books – A Waste of Time and Money As a first-time author

As a first-time author, I had high hopes for PR for Books, but I was thoroughly disappointed. The press release they provided needed a lot of work, and I found myself editing it multiple times to try and sell my own book – which was supposed to be their job. The release itself was a letdown. After it was sent out, I received a backlog of emails from people they claimed to be targeting. However, most of these contacts had nothing to do with books or the theme of my book. To make matters worse, many emails bounced back, saying the recipients no longer worked at the companies, which proves they have no real connections and are simply spamming.

I ended up doing a better job on my own, even getting a spot on BBC Kent radio without their help. It was a complete waste of £195, and I absolutely would not recommend their services to anyone. Save your money and do it yourself! AVOID.

Some books will always be more challenging to promote than others but we will always try our very best for all authors.

We have been using PR for Books for… 4 years

We have been using PR for Books for many years, and they handle all our book press releases. Naturally, there are no guarantees that any press release will attract the attention and pick-up of media (and that can be for a whole host of reasons), but PR for Books does a top job in ensuring maximum reach, and their customer service is first class. Highly recommended.

Great service and international reach for 'There is no Second'

I published my book 'There is no Second' back in May 2024 and PRforbooks were the perfect partner, enabling me to reach a wide, international audience and yield some impossibly good PR in national newspapers (La Stampa in particular) and multiple trade publications in the nautical sector. One star for effort

One star for effort. Should have taken notice of other one star reviews. Press Release was sent. That was all. With so many millions of books out there, newspapers must be getting fed up with press releases. I expected this company to promote my book ‘Dangerous Lovers’ on social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter, and similar online sites. Won’t use again.

I am sorry to hear that the media did not show interest in your memoir. With PR it is impossible to guarantee media coverage as I had previously informed you. A great deal will depend on what the media think about the book itself. As you will see we have an excellent track record with many repeat clients as well as many publishers who use us on a regular basis and our results are outstanding. That said, PR is never a 'one size fits all' situation.
You were informed from the first communication what we include in our package. At no time was social media included and it would be impossible to do so at the price you paid.

PR for Books is exceptional.
The service provided is complete value for money and Nicholas was always on the end of an email to answer any questions, keep me in the loop on progress and update me on successful bites for my book.
Nicholas's work in helping to recognise my book secured me my first ever American radio interview and there are other potential interviews lined up.
PR for Books has been a fantastic find. I highly recommend them and will not hesitate to work with them again

Within the hour of sending we had interest from Gardens Illustrated and The New York Times, among others. Rather annoying, as I had other plans that morning other than fielding interest from top drawer press! )

Zero Results

As a regular reviewer of services, I wanted to try and write an honest and open review of my recent experience with PR for Books. Here on Trust Pilot they have some glowing and positive reviews (but sadly like an idiot I ignored the negative ones) Their website looks good and gave me the impression (again I have to accept the blame here but the way its written gives you in my opinion a rather misleading impression) Essentially our company paid three hundred pounds to get an okayish Press Release (which we edited) and then an email shot to a generic list of media outlets. We were copied in and effectively received around 50 or so Automated out of Office replies to various media outlets as proof! of our 'PR campaign'. The ‘PR campaign’ resulted in zero engagement. To be fair one tiny online blog with very few readers did add the press release to their blog. So, in effect we paid around a few pounds each - per email - to achieve absolutely nothing.
We had thought that as a PR for Books company they would have personal contacts or back channels of some kind. They do not. They simply have some generic email lists the same as we could create or buy ourselves. Of course, when we complained about the total lack of results - we got a pretty standard reply ‘Sorry no one liked your work. We’re sorry’ which is a pretty handy get out. The old adage you get what you pay for very much applies here in spades, and to be frank we were naïve to think that a few hundred pounds would get us anywhere. However, in my capacity as a journalist I’m happy to say I’ve recently been asked to write a piece on such practices for a well-known magazine regarding the music and writing industries, and after investigating various other companies for similar supposed low cost and get zero results ‘PR schemes’ I’ll be adding this one to my list. Very disappointing. I just read their reply which is frankly insulting and casts doubts on my career, achievements and CV and career which is available on Wikipedia and a matter of public record. As for telling me my minor changes to a press release made it worse, that's frankly laughable. Their reply tells me all I and you need to know about their attitude.

I'm sorry to hear that the media have not shown interest in your book.
I believe our team did a very good job on the press release although you made some changes yourself. PR is not a magic wand that can ensure overnight stardom or success for authors. A great deal will depend on the book itself and no PR company can force publications to review or feature a book which they do not find interesting. You insisted on headlining the press release with the wording that you were a 'London Legend'. I think would have put a lot of people off. You also informed me that you were a co-founder of the Big Issue which of course would have been a helpful angle but when we used this in the initial draft you did not wish for it to be used which is a little strange.

We did not target to a generic media list as you have presumed incorrectly. Your book which is a story mainly for children and cat lovers was properly targeted and included media contacts and publications specifically covering children interest, family and parenting interest, London media (as you informed us you were a 'London Legend' and of course, cat publications and general book media.

I feel that had we used our original PR rather than your version things would have been more successful as they are for many of our clients.
