On June 20, my elderly mother, who has Parkinson’s disease, hired this company to help move from a one-bedroom coach home. The move consisted of one bed, one dresser, one couch, two chairs, and roughly 15 boxes. It was a very modest move that should have taken no more than 2 to 2.5 hours.
The movers arrived at 1:30 p.m., and I have honestly never witnessed such poor work ethic. At one point, I watched one mover sitting in my mother’s recliner scrolling on his phone while the other stood fiddling with straps instead of loading the truck. There were multiple periods where little to no work was being done.
After seeing how slowly things were moving, I ended up helping load the trailer myself. At the new home, my brother also had to step in and help unload because the movers were struggling to get the furniture down the stairs. Between the two of us, we ended up doing a significant portion of the work ourselves.
The movers didn’t leave until 5:00 p.m.—a total of 3.5 hours for a move that should have been completed in 2 to 2.5 hours. Despite our family doing much of the work, my mother was charged $899 in total, including the deposit.
Watching an elderly woman with Parkinson’s pay $899 for this level of service was incredibly disappointing. We hired professionals to make the move easier, yet we ended up doing much of the work ourselves while paying a premium price for an inefficient service.
Based on our experience, I would not recommend this company.

Using this moving company was one of the most awful, unprofessional, and stressful experiences in my life. I had the movers booked for 10:30 - 11:30 AM, it was nearly 2:00 by the time movers arrived. I specifically asked for this time because I had the moving elevator booked in the new apartment from 12:00 - 3:00. I was told that they would be bringing wardrobe boxes, those were not brought. When the truck finally arrived at the new apartment, there were other movers there who had scheduled the moving elevator so this made it take significantly longer to unload - if they would’ve arrived on time this would’ve gone way quicker. At first, my partner and I left to let them do their job. But upon arriving back to our new apartment, we find them sitting in their truck doing nothing. After being 3 hours late keep in mind. After seeing how they were handling our valuables - we were horrified and had to stay close by. Instead of using moving equipment like hand trucks or floor dolly’s, they were manhandling heavy furniture and stealing shopping carts from the nearby Safeway to use. I was a labourer for nearly 4 years, and seeing them do everything the least efficient way possible was mind boggling. They broke picture frames, potted plants, and my bed frame. I watched a worker shove my metal tv stand into my other boxes really hard. Against fragile goods. I walked into my apartment to find them under my sink chugging water, I received an INCREDIBLY racist text message from one of the movers. This has been the most unprofessional thing I’ve ever witnessed in my life. I was told multiple times that customer service would be reaching out to me in order to make things right but haven’t heard anything. So instead, I’m writing this review to hopefully warn someone from every having to go through the trouble and stress of dealing with this awful, disgusting company. Would never recommend to anyone.

Update to my previous 5-star review – unfortunately, I have to retract it.
Less than a year ago, I left a glowing review for Let’s Get Moving after they moved us from Smoky Lake to Fort Saskatchewan. We had two trucks and four movers, and they were fantastic. Based on our experience, I confidently recommended them to friends who were recently moving from Ardrossan to Fort Saskatchewan.
Unfortunately, their experience was the complete opposite.
They booked two trucks and four movers for Saturday June 27, 2026 with an 8:00 a.m. start time. Instead, one truck and only two movers arrived at 10:00 a.m., two hours late. They were only able to move about a quarter of the house, even though my friends had to be completely out of their home by June 30.
After several phone calls, they were told another truck would come on Monday June 29, 2026. When I called the company myself to express my concerns, I was told the situation had been escalated to management and that trucks would be sent on Monday. I explained that, to make this right, they should be sending at least three trucks and six movers to recover the lost time and help my friends meet their deadline.
Instead, only one truck showed up, and it arrived around 3:00 p.m. instead of the expected 1:00 p.m. Because of these delays, my friends were unable to vacate their home on time and are now facing additional penalty charges. They were left scrambling to move the remaining contents into the garage themselves just to minimize the impact.
When I called again today, I was simply told that management was already dealing with the issue and communicating with Brian. I asked how the company planned to make this right, but no one could provide an answer—only that management would continue speaking with him.
I’m incredibly disappointed. I recommended this company based on the excellent service we received, and instead my friends experienced missed commitments, poor communication, significant delays, and financial consequences. It also reflects poorly on me because I trusted this company enough to recommend them.
Based on this experience, I can no longer recommend Let’s Get Moving.

Really disappointing moving experience this time around
This was my 3rd time using this company and my previous experiences back in 2020 were great, which is why I trusted them again for my 2026 move.
THIS TIME THO: They overbooked themselves, forcing me to change my moving time and rebook both building elevators.
This caused major issues because elevator bookings are strict and hard to coordinate between two buildings.
They still charge hourly from the time they leave their office until they return, even when schedule changes were caused by their own overbooking.
On moving day, they arrived 2 HOURS LATE.
I had to repeatedly call for updates, and the only compensation offered was $50 off, OR charged for 30mins time in total for leaving their office and driving back since they moved us to rush hour time; to which was nowhere near enough considering the disruption caused.
Because of their delay, I was scolded by management at both buildings and risked issues with my $500 elevator deposit.
Even though everything was fully packed and organized beforehand, they moved so slowly that they couldn’t finish within the elevator booking window.
My move was only a studio apartment, yet it took:
2 hours to load
2 hours to unload
Because they were both late and inefficient, they were unable to complete the move before we were forced to stop elevator access.
Customer service kept saying they would “talk to the manager,” but ultimately said they couldn’t make the movers arrive sooner or provide better compensation.
The movers felt significantly slower and less efficient compared to the team I had in 2020.
Plus another thing; I clearly labeled certain boxes “FRAGILE / DO NOT STACK,” and they still stacked other boxes on top of them.
Overall: What should have been an relaxing moving day as I chose to get moving company; became unnecessarily stressful. Based on this experience, the service quality has dropped significantly since 2020, and I would not recommend them anymore.
UPDATE(June 1st, 2026):
I had already tried discussing fair compensation privately with the company on moving day itself during multiple phone calls, before ever posting this review.
At that time, no meaningful resolution was offered.
Only after this review was posted did the company contact me and offer an additional $200 compensation, but only if I agreed to remove my review and confirm I would not post or share further about this experience.
I declined.
After I refused those terms, the offer was reduced to $25 for the inconvenience, while they also acknowledged that my review was factually accurate.
This makes it difficult not to question whether the goal was genuine compensation for their service failure, or simply an attempt to have a negative review removed.
To be clear: I would have been open to updating my review to reflect a fair resolution. However, asking for the review to be deleted entirely in exchange for compensation is concerning and made this whole experience even more disappointing.
Update (June 2nd, 2026)
After posting this review, the company reported my Trustpilot review as defamatory. Trustpilot reviewed the complaint and determined that the review was not defamatory and restored it.
And yes, I booked on short notice. You overbooked yourself for 10am slot, and called me again so I adjusted to your available schedule as you recommended. We agreed on a 3:00 PM arrival because my elevator booking was only from 3:00 PM–5:00 PM.
When nobody arrived and nobody contacted me, I contacted your team around 3:30 PM asking where the movers were. The crew ultimately arrived around 4:50 PM, leaving only minutes before my elevator booking expired.
Regarding compensation, my initial request reflected the significant disruption caused by the late arrival, the loss of most of my elevator booking window, and the additional trips and moving work we had to complete ourselves. I understand that you do not promise for a complete moving. However, for what I wish to be a complete moving could not be done because you were late for elevator time.
Your response states that compensation was never contingent upon review removal. However, the June 1st email offered a $200 refund only if I agreed to remove my review, make no further online postings regarding the matter, and consider the issue fully settled.
At this point, I am no longer seeking compensation and do not wish to continue discussing this matter further. My review will remain online as an accurate account of my experience, and I consider the matter closed from my side. I respectfully request no further contact regarding this issue.

I enquired for a quote for this company but eventually decided to go with a different company after reaching out to a few moving companies like everybody does trying to get the best deal. But this particular company just wouldn't stop calling me back and sending me text messages to the phone number i provided them asking for surveys and "if i changed my mind" like i already found and went with a different company, the move/service was done. Stop contacting me. This is considered stalking and it's very creepy and annoying. One thing is for certain, thanks to your actions in attempting to force customers into using your company, i now know never to choose this company for any future moving services. They were booked to arrive between 1 and 2 pm.
I called twice yesterday to confirm. It’s now 2:10 pm and nothing. No call no warning.

If I could give zero stars, that’s what this company deserves. First of all, I used the LGM Peterborough branch. They are not a Peterborough company, like they claim to be. The address is a storage unit. They arrived 45 minutes late from Ajax. They charge you by the hour and move so slowly. My three bedroom home which only had one bedroom set, took almost 5 hours to pack. They scratched my handrail, scuffed the walls, then scratch the hardwood flooring and tried to pull off that it was already there. When speaking with the supervisor, he tried to swindle a $200 discount. My realtor came to assess the damage, took pictures and got an estimate from the flooring company which then they said the damage was over $1000. I also had to get a friend's truck and trailer and load the rest of the furniture they said wouldn't fit in the truck. When unloading, I had everything marked which room it was going in and they just put boxes wherever and I had to move them into the right rooms. I had to remove all the plastic wrapping. Then they refused to move furniture into the basement, saying that it wouldn’t fit. They didn’t even attempt it! When 80% of the truck was unloaded, they stopped working. They were advised by the supervisor, that I had to accept and sign a waiver with the agreed amount of $1700. He was then arguing with me about the cost of the damages. I had to call the police to get the rest of my belongings unloaded. They still refused to unload, so I jumped into the truck and started unloading the boxes myself. They charged my credit card without my authorization! Once they got their money, they put the rest of the furniture into the garage and left. I had to hire another moving company to move the furniture into my basement, which they had no issues getting it in the house! The customer service and head office are rude and they pay with gift cards for their 5* reviews.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!
UPDATE: In response to Let's Get Moving the "head office/ general manager" continues to bribe me to accept their offers so long as I take down my reviews across multiple platforms! I refuse to accept any money as I believe these reviews are to inform other customers and let them make informative decisions. The head office continues to place blame on the local manager but it's the same person from head office I was dealing with in the beginning that was rude and bullying!
RESPONSE: A stolen move? Do you hear what you are saying? This is exactly the experience the consumer needs to see! First of all, the police were involved and told your men to remove MY belongings from the truck when your company tried to hold it RANSOME for not paying the bill, when only 3/4 of the truck was unloaded! They told you that was ILLEGAL and THEFT! My pregnant realtor and myself had to go in the truck and start unloading MY belongings. SECONDLY, you charged my credit card WITHOUT my authorization and I disputed the charge! THIRD: It is freedom of speech which forums I can post!
This is a perfect example of the SHADY company people are dealing with if they choose your company!
