Recliner cable replacement.

With a broken cable on my G Plan recliner I contacted customer service for assistance. The response was immediate and very friendly.
I now have a replacement cable supplied free of charge and contact information in case I need help for the installation.
Altogether a very satisfactory experience.

Recliner on the suite was broken

Recliner on the suite was broken. I expected it to have been checked before delivery. However it was fixed within a week.

Delivery was earlier than expected…

Delivery was earlier than expected which was good for us, delivery men very good, comfy furniture and they had the colour I wanted

We only had the chairs for 3 weeks…

We only had the chairs for 3 weeks before the seats and backs were out of shape and uncomfortable, not what we expected as they were very expensive, very disappointing

After 30 years of faithful service.

After 30 years of faithful service my reclining armchair developed a fault when two screws sheared in the mechanism. G Plan's response has been to send me the replacement screws free of charge. You can't do better than that.

Fantastic Customer Service

G Plan customer service have been fantastic. A friends dog accidentally scratched the cushions on our lovely G Plan vintage sofa. We were worried that it we wouldn’t be able to get them repaired and would have to replace the whole sofa, which is only just over a year old & exclusive to John Lewis.

G Plan we’re not only able to send us a set of new covers, when John Lewis couldn’t help, they sent them free of charge.

G Plan really are fantastic, great furniture & even better customer service. Really do look after you.

Our Sofa is beautiful!!

Do not buy

Bought the gplan Ellis three piece suite with two recliner armchairs around Xmas 2024. Noticed on one of recliners when operated it made a grinding noise every time I used it. In the end retailer contacted gplan melksham who eventually sent an "independent upholsterer " to check it out and who reported back that I was the wrong height for chair. Funny I am only 1"shorter than the average woman. The case was closed. Then noticed loose material on back of this chair . Retailer came and put more filling in .
Was not happy with recliner noise still
there so contacted retailer again and after weeks went by gplan finally sent another upholsterer to give second opinion.
This was totally the opposite of first opinion and engineer told me a part of the recliner had been fitted wrong . Thought a big company like gplan would have a good quality control dept .
So after 6 months finally got chair fixed.
As I am not an expert on material used on furniture I am also surprised that the material is puckering where the head cushion meets the back cushion. Either it's the type of filling or the material is substandard. This is not the old gplan furniture which had a good reputation but see they were taken over by a larger company. Would not advise buying this furniture .

Still waiting for Toons and g plan to help put this right

Unfortunately this is a brand new sofa costing over £3,500. We bought two and one is perfect, the other lopsided despite two people coming to punch the sofa repeatedly, this is not something that should have to be done to a new sofa. I have contacted the furniture store Toons and they are dealing with yourselves but so far I’m getting nowhere. Surely at very least you should make two new seat cushions so the sofa sits straight. I just can’t believe what is supposed to be a well known British company are not trying to resolve this issue. I still have my old Italian leather sofa which I have had for 14 years and it’s immaculate, never had this problem.

We’d like to clarify the suggestion you received regarding what you’ve described as “punching” the sofa. What was actually being referred to is a standard practice in upholstered furniture care known as “dressing” the sofa. While it may sound unusual, dressing is a normal and necessary part of maintaining furniture that uses fibre-filled interiors, as is the case with the our models.

Over time, and particularly in the most-used seat of a sofa, the fibre filling naturally settles and mats together, which can cause the cushions to lose some of their shape or appear uneven. Gently plumping or redistributing the filling by hand helps restore the original appearance and comfort, and is part of the regular care routine recommended across the industry.
This requirement does not mean there is a fault in the furniture, but rather a known characteristic of fibre interiors.

That said, we absolutely appreciate your concerns, particularly given that one of the sofas appears unaffected. If you feel that the difference between the two is beyond what would be expected from normal use and maintenance, you are very welcome to request a second opinion inspection via your retailer. This allows us to assess whether there is any underlying manufacturing fault that needs addressing.

We’re genuinely sorry that communication has not met your expectations so far, and we’ll ensure this feedback is passed on internally to improve our service. Please don’t hesitate to contact your retailer again to initiate a further review as we remain committed to helping resolve your concerns wherever possible.
