We ordered 2 Riley sofas

We ordered 2 Riley sofas. 1 a static and the other a manual recliner. We are an elderly couple and are unable to use the manual recliner. A complete waste of money. This was £800 more than the static and now we can only use this as a static as it is too difficult to use. Our strong 6"2"son could hardly get the back to recline.
The technician came to examine the sofa and removed a spring but it has not made in any easier for us to use.
We strongly feel we should have been advised by the retailer 'Doorway to Value' we would find it difficult to operate and that a power one would be more suitable. This was in no way suggested nor did the salesman encourage us to try the model in store. He gave us a demonstration and made it look so easy.
This reflects more on the point of sale than on Gplan but be warned if you are of a certain age or perhaps not quite so mobile you will find it a complete waste of money as you will not be able to operate it.
Doorway to value have offered,after our complaint,to order a new power recliner and charge us an extra £800. This would only have been an extra £250 at point of sale. Totally unacceptable when it is not fit for purpose.

We’re particularly sorry to hear that the recliner has proven difficult to operate. While we’ve not received similar feedback about this model elsewhere, we absolutely appreciate that individual needs can vary, and that a manual mechanism may not be suitable for everyone.

Our expectation is that suitability, including differences between manual and power recliners, would be discussed and demonstrated in full at the point of sale. While we would never want to speak on behalf of any of our valued retail partners, we do rely on them to provide guidance based on each customer’s requirements.

We genuinely regret that the recliner has not met your expectations and that it’s not proving usable for you. Your comfort and satisfaction are very important to us, and we’re sorry that you feel let down by this experience.

The sales person was polite and very…

The sales person was polite and very helpful. The after sales team were extremely helpful. We found a mark on the arm of our recliner chair, they sent out a technician to look and it, and he sorted it. This was all done after two weeks from delivery. Will definitely buy from Aldiss again, brilliant service. Lovely recliner chairs,

my Gplan flair recliner bought just pre…

my Gplan flair recliner bought just pre covid or went wrong within 3 months or purchase
Engineer out changed buttons but next day not working .. this carried on for months and then into covid times where they couldn’t come out so had to wait once Covid was over I called again someone came out said was issued with whole electrics with Intermittent power fault .. and would need new motor etc then had call from DFS saying out of warranty won’t fix it but they couldn’t attended during Covid times I’ve been stuck with a chair unfit for purpose which I can’t use x At one point it opened a d closed in its own with no one even sitting in it . I have disabilities and that’s why my parents bought it for me so I can sit comfortably watch tv with my children the footrest has now been stuck out for 2 years only way to keep it in is to tie it up with string real eyesore bit of a accident hazard stick out all the time drives me nuts paid £1500 for chair not fit for purpose told my chair was now out of warranty so can’t fix it !! But wasn’t my fault they couldn’t come out . I got told by one engineer that flair were known for faults , thought Gplan meant great quality hugely disappointed in my now non recliner footrest rather expensive non working chair ! 😒

Quality and comfort.

We purchased a two seater and a three seater settee, the two seater had to be made as the store did not have one in stock. We were told it would take a few weeks and both were delivered within the time stated. Both are excellent quality and comfort, no issues.

Terrible aftersales service

Having paid £5050 for a Harper sofa and armchair in leather only 18months ago, I expected at least a response to the two letters I sent but not a dickie bird.
I ended up having to pay for the repairs to substandard leather and a sinking seat, obviously I will never buy from this bastion of British manufacturing again.
Completely unacceptable!

I love my new sofa from G Plan

I love my new sofa from G Plan. It is very comfortable as well as looking good. The sofa also has heated seats, so will be perfect for winter.

Just had 2 Harper leather 2 seater…

Just had 2 Harper leather 2 seater sofas delivered,the quality of g plan furniture is in a league of its own.They are made to order and with a 25 year guarantee.
We purchased from furniture world in Plymouth and it was a great store with friendly staff.

Contacted G Plan direct re.on going smell problem coming from suite purchased from Forrest/Sterling almost 2 years ago.
Spoke to Eleanor who arranged another inspection to be carried out. Still waiting for time confirmation of inspection on Friday 12 Sept.

I understand that you previously spoke with Eleanor, who arranged for another inspection to take place. I sincerely apologise for the delay in confirming the time for the inspection scheduled for Friday, 12th September.
We truly appreciate your patience and apologise for any inconvenience this delay may have caused.
Whilst we understand some customers experience a slight smell coming from their new furniture which we encourage airing and will dissipate over time, this is usually because of the manufacturing process and probably down to the foam interiors. it not common for a smell to continue.
The technician will be able to detect if this is a manufacturing fault and they will then contact us directly to assist, or external factors which may also have an affect.
If you have any further questions or would like to discuss the matter in more detail, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

After a few years we had a small issue…

After a few years we had a small issue with a chair! G Plan were brilliant, they rectified the issue free of charge with no problems. Had we purchased a suite made in another Country we would have never got the issue resolved. Hats off to Hannah (customer services) and G Plan. Quality product and quality aftercare.

Inadequate filling to sofa

Our Seattle sofa had inadequate filling and necessitated two visits from the repair company. Disappointed with GPlan, they used to have a good reputation.

We purchased a 3 seater and 2 seater G Plan recliner sofas on recommendation from furniture village at vast expense, expecting them to be extremely comfortable and very expensive, but not a year old and waiting for repair *which has taken over 6 weeks and still waiting) its like sitting on a park bench its absolutely dreadful, I thought that being so expensive and the advice we were given it would be the best purchase we have made how wrong we were so very annoyed and disappointed

Free Feet

I needed to replace a broken "foot" on a G Plan chair and was very frustrated with the complete lack of customer service from the retailer who sold me the chair.
All it took to sort the problem out was one phone call to G Plan's customer service team and four new feet were sent free of charge. Thank you.

Furniture is just what we wanted blue leather. Might sound dramatic but is very nice. We have had G Plan before so confident will be as good as our previous suite

Comfort and Quality

Had done my research online prior to visiting Furniture Village Tunbridge Wells and as I was looking for sofas that offered me comfort and good support had already decided on GPlan. The first sofa I sat on was a Kingsbury and it was instant comfort! I did try a couple of other GPlan sofas but the Kingsbury ticked all the boxes especially as I have a bad back. Good range of fabrics to choose from and when my sofas eventually arrived I was absolutely delighted and the quality is topnotch.
