I fail to see why AOL need to regularly request I "prove" who I am - I have had my same account for at least 20 years. This annoying incessant pop-up rubbish NEVER happens with my Gmail account.

Actually, less than zero. After Yahoo got involved with AOL, one of my inboxes was deluged with spam. Now, if I understand correctly, Yahoo has sold AOL on, so let's hope there is substantial change... Zobacz więcej

Ho sottoscritto un account con aol mail. Dopo due giorni il sito non riconosce l'indirizzo di posta elettronica 'spiacenti, non riconosciamo questa email' le testuali parole. Un nuovo account con lo stesso indirizzo di posta viene negato perché già occupato, il recupero sia attraverso altro indirizzo di posta o telefono è vano perché non arrivano né messaggi sul telefono né email.

5 Stars – Excellent Customer Service from Frankie Bun

I have an issue with my tumble dryer and contacted customer service for help. Frankie Bun assisted me and was absolutely fantastic throughout the process. He quickly realised that my appliance hadn’t been registered for warranty, but instead of passing the problem back to me, or another department he took complete ownership of the situation.

Frankie not only got the warranty registration sorted out but also arranged a repair date without any hassle on my end. He was extremely helpful, professional, and thorough—making what could have been a stressful experience completely smooth and stress-free.

Brilliant customer service – thank you so much, Frankie!

AOL - spam central

A relic online mail company. More spam than legit emails and riddled with adverts. Always been bad but since Yahoo take over the spam filters have gone out the window.

Cost Money to Reset Your Password

I've used an AOL email for the last 25yrs, during that time I've never had an issue with reseting my password myself. Today, I attempted to log on from a comp instead of my phone and was immediately prompted to send a verification code to my old school email address, which was deactivated after I graduated. It prompted me to go to their online list of FAQs. So, I did and it didn't help at all, told me to try logging in from a browser I've used before, which is what I've been doing, same browser and same comp, still prompting for the code even with the correct user name and password (I know it's correct, because I'm logged in on my phone just fine). I called the customer service line and not only was the customer service rep's speech almost completely indiscernible, all I could make out was that they require a monthly subscription for "premium service" unclear on what's premium about accessing an e-mail acct but at minimum you have to pay $9.99 for a one-time technical support so they can change your back-up email to a new e-mail. I said, that's okay, just take the code prompt off my acct and I'll go in and change the back-up e-mail myself. Nope, 24min call asking for a one-time free exception, they refused. I've never needed tech support from AOL in 25yrs. Interesting that they're blocking my login and to get me logged in I now need "tech support" for a fee. Outlook, Gmail, Apple, no one charges you for a password reset or to change your back-up verification email. So, disappointed in AOL, make money off Ads, storage, business emails, etc., like everyone else, don't be petty it's not a good look or business model (the task I attempted to log onto the comp for, I've already completed using a different email address). So, you didn't stop my efforts, just made disappointed in your practices and lack of support in your customers. Never thought I'd see the day but, it seems it's time to for this Era to come to an end.

Precious Moments Deleted

I wish I could give 0 stars or negative stars. They wiped our entire email account of all history of emails due to inactivity of my Mother's account. We have been dealing with her Brain Cancer recovery and have not used her email. We have lost countless emails with pictures of memories, saved emails with messages from loved ones that have passed, and encouraging notes from her sent to myself and other loves ones that can't replicated due to her disability from her brain cancer. They are claiming they wiped it clean and cannot retrieve it, therefore memories lost forever. This is truly unforgiveable and I urge anyone to switch services. While I tell them this story-- they tell me I have to pay to speak to their support as that is a premium service. When you think they can't go lower they do.

AOL BANNED FROM MY HOME

Purchased cooker. Paid extra £100 to connect cooker. I moved cooker to clean and wire came away from socket. £100 down the toilet.
I should have read the bottom of the pit review before purchasing from AOL. I WON'T RECOMMEND AOL. I also will NOT get AOL to reconnect cooker. Once bitten was enough. I won't be a returning customer. AOL are banned from my home.

I am only giving them 1 star because I have to at least give them a star, but if I could I would not give them any stars. I have not been able to access my account and when I call them they tell me that the only way that they are able to help me get into the account is if I upgrade from the free account to a paid account which is $16 a month. $16 to include lifelock which I already have with experian for $3. They are a horrible company to have an email with. Nobody else has been this horrible to work with when it comes to getting into another email account that I have. Gmail and yahoo have been significantly better with assisting me.

Incredibly poor service

I have been an AOL customer since the 1980s. I needed to clear my laptop in order to be rid of unwanted pop-ups, but realized, too late, that I had cleared my AOL history/forgotten password as well. As with many writers here, the phone number associated with the account was at least 25 years obsolete. After at least three different calls to service reps and at least 5 failed attempts to get through their 2-step verification, I am still locked out. The last two times, I was told by reps to "wait for the system to reset", first for a weekend and today for a month. When I asked whether I was being charged for the weeks that I have been locked out and would be charged for "the month" I was supposed to wait to try again, I was told "Yes" (!) I asked several times today to speak with a supervisor and was told, at two times, that they were "on the phone" and once that the rep "couldn't find anyone". Finally, I was told by the rep that I would get a call back that "shouldn't take very long". Five hours later, guess what? I honestly cannot say that I have had a worse series of Customer Support experiences - ever. Meanwhile, as my AOL account is backing up my business, medical, financial, and other accounts, my hands are tied. I can't log in to them either. There is a new term that describes goods and services that started out working well with reasonable prices then declined dramatically over time - while raising prices. The term is "enshi**ification". The AOL logo should be next to it in the dictionary.

No help without paying them

I noticed one morning that I could not use my email account. I've had it for quite a while so I called them for help. The only way they would help me was if I paid them a minimum monthly fee of $9.99 per month. What a rip off. Fortunately, I had an old gmail account from a long time ago which I am now using. But I had to go to evey account that has my old email address to change it to the gmail. That was 36 accounts (that I'm aware of).

je suis chez eux depuis 25 ans, depuis 3 jours il m'est impossible de me connecter à mon compte, toutes tentatives épuisées, j'ai envoyé 2 messages à l'assistance qui ne réponde pas, tout comme sur x et fb et à yahoo car c'est sur eux que l'on retombe, les codes de récupération ne fonctionnent pas, toujours bloqué, alors soit j'ai une usurpation d'identité soit un problème qui viendrait aol (ce que pense la gendarmerie) j'ai fait un message au rgpd usa avec un autre mail en expliquant la situation pour voir si je suis usurpé, mais si vous voulez quelqu'un au téléphone c'est payant et il faut parler anglais !! je suis très déçue car tous mes documents importants sont stockés sur ce mail, tous mes sites sont avec ce mail, et maintenant plus d'accès, mais pour du numérique ne pas pouvoir contacter simplement c'est très énervant et surtout ne pas avoir de réponses c'est encore pire dans une situation grave !! et j'ai lu que je ne suis pas la seule sur un site de bug !!

They recognized my cell phone number as…

They recognized my cell phone number as a VOIP, instead of cell and wouldn't allow me to add it to account recovery. I ended a twenty year relationship with them over it.
They wouldn't fix it or manually add my number, which Gmail recognized as a cell.

Very weak security platform that is…

Very weak security platform that is decades old from the others. Their paid program is outsourced with people that make your days measorable .
IT TOOK ME 3 DAYS TO BE VERIFIED AS A PAID SUBSCRIBER, to be verified by Only state issued driver license that I currently do not have the hard copy. The refused , and ask me a free 3 months subscription. Insult to the wounds. Why I want to spend days for zero solution.
In Texas it may take a month to get one. No passport, military id or anything is accepted.I had this account for 30 years. I canceled all to gather and collected my past payment from my credit card. They are worth trouble not good with a lot of adds and lousy service.

I have had my aol account for a long time and the frustrating thing is constantly keep getting Ads popping up none stop and there’s no way to get them to stop tried to contact aol but no luck it’s annoying when you don’t want unwanted ads specially when it’s one after the other I am not interested in them keep deleting but still popping up

Appalling service

I could not access my email account. I had tried passkeys and account recovery methods but to no avail.

AOL do not provide telephone assistance so I was reduced to sending emails.
AOL can take up to 72 hours to respond. They also didn't confirm receipt of my help requests, I've no idea whether they've actually got them.
What an appalling service provider.

Quite annoyed at having hand-selected

Quite annoyed at having hand-selected, filtered, left-wing media, thrown in my face every day when I check email. If it was 20-30% of the time and balanced it would be one thing but it is 100% of the time which screams "agenda". Dropping AOL email.

Aol is running ad's on site.They block half of my emails when reading and printing. I have called them and the only way to fix is to pay them $4.99 a month to go ad free. I have to pay for them to provide me my emails so I can fully read? Is this legal? also I recieved an additional charge of $9.99 this month to be billed monthly so they protect my information. Should that only be part of there service. After 30 plus years I am shopping for a new email provider.
