Tesco express close their doors earlier than advertised. They close the doors 5-10 minutes earlier than advertised opening times advertised. I wanted two items, knew where they were, but the staff were out of uniform and going home early. The store is NOT open until their advertised opening hours. They are open until their staff feel they can go. Sometimes they close 15 minutes early. Doors closed and it is 10:45pm. That is not what Tesco states about store opening - they claim to be open until 11pm.

Good quality food and reasonable prices most of the time. Some staff aren’t the most friendly but most local stores sell the same stuff so it’s easy to know what to expect when you’re away. Either way solid supermarket.

I used to shop at Tesco for the quick meal deal sandwich and crisps and a drink for £3 odd with the club card, I am not very happy with them anymore as they have upped prices while shrinking the food portions and making everything not worth your money.

Personally I wouldn’t shop here again but that’s just me, I refuse to pay for something that isn’t even worth it anymore.

I would give it no stars if possible.
Upon ordering Whoosh Tesco new speedy delivery service, I was astounded at the prices charged including 4x Dr pepper at £10.40 which should be £6.00
Altogether I was overcharged £9.17 on regular in-store and online Tesco store products.. So for this reason I would urge people to boycott this money making consumerism idea

Was shopping at Glasgow Shettlston and was served by Kyle at the checkout. Kyle was super helpful and friendly

I went to the Preston branch on Blackpool Road and I was purchasing some Doritos 5 pack and the family bag with a voucher code which was given to me by the Doritos company. They would not accept it even though the correspondence I received from the company stated that you could use them in Tesco.

TESCO Pharmacy only NOT the shop in general

For about 12 months or just over we have been getting our medication supplied by TESCO Pharmacy and the vast majority of the time something would be missing due to no stock. One particular item that was always a problem was for a particular brand of medication, and still is.
They send texts asking for us to call them but NEVER answer the phone.
The reason I am writing this is because my wife has been prescribed a very expensive drug to follow on from another.The prescription was sent from our GP to them on Thursday afternoon. Knowing that this was a rare drug with a price of £1400 we expected a few days before it would be in stock. I tried contacting them by phone and it just rang out every time. The drug it was to follow finished on Monday and still no answer on the phone so Tuesday morning I went to the pharmacy only to be told that they were unable to get it. Had I been told that on Friday I could have arranged another pharmacy to get it. I was given the prescription and went to another pharmacy who can get it but it may take a few days. When they checked the prescription it was locked up in Tesco pharmacy system and needed releasing.I phoned them again and once again nobody answered the phone. That meant another trip to Tesco to get the prescription released so the other pharmacy could get it in for us. Today our bi monthly prescription was ready to collect but one item was out of stock. So finally becoming totally annoyed I have changed pharmacy to the other who seem more in touch with customer service and support.

The other pharmacy has now got the medication for us

Bought a pack of 6 crumpets on 8/9/2026 but there was only 5 in the pack. Took the receipt and complained. I was told I would need to return the remaining crumpets and the packet to check the batch number. Needless to say I did not bother as the remaining crumpets are in the freezer and the packet in the bin. What a palaver over one crumpet!

Tesco Car Insurance cancelled my policy claiming I failed to send my No Claims Discount proof by 4th September.

THAT IS NOT TRUE.

I sent it on the 3rd of September BEFORE the deadline and I have full evidence - date, time, recipient email, and attachment proof.

I resent it MULTIPLE times, including on 4th September while on the phone to a MANAGER - still told "not received". So where did my emails go? This is a total failure of Tesco's own email system, not my failure.

What it cost me:
Left with NO insurance overnight.
Left unable to legally drive to work.
Forced to pay for taxis and 4 trains a day - I have all receipts.
Told by Tesco to "just go get another policy" - after I had ALREADY PAID THEM.
Now I have to declare a CANCELLED policy to every other insurer for years - that will cost me hundreds more.

They take your money, lose your documents, then punish YOU for their system failure.

No apology. No investigation. No accountability.

I am now asking Tesco to check their mailbox logs, delivery records, quarantined emails and call recordings. Preserve everything.

If you depend on your car for work, family, or life - DO NOT trust Tesco Insurance with it. You will be left stranded. Tesoc, the WORST insurance provider out of them all, please be very careful when taking out a policy with TESCO, their email system is a failure, then they would cancelled your policy.

Would NOT recommend Tesco car insurance, be very careful with TESCO insurance, don't want to take the blame for their own error but quick to cancel policy and then , telling you to take out another insurance policy with, cannot be trusted. I find this very disappointing and distasteful.

Tesco North Shields absolutely awful staff Especially the staff that do the picking for online orders, they are extremely rude and always stood in groups gossiping you may as well close the store to the public because I never feel welcome.

Bought a phone that was never dispatched.
Customer service were very helpful, but it took 5 phone calls, over a month, before I got a refund.
Their "partner" BoxedTech should be dropped, it's so unreliable and impossible to contact.

The customer service phone line will not get you to a human no matter what you do! Tesco was rich enough! They didn't need to get rid of people answering the sodding phones to save a few quid! The level of greed is absolutely repulsive! I'll never shop there again!

Two things.
Firstly, I purchased a Tesco brand bread mix. It says on the packet just add water, though on the detailed instructions it says use a little olive oil to grease the dough if baking by hand.
Alternatively, using a bread machine (as I was) ,it says add 320ml of warm water AND THE BUTTER
What butter? There is no mention anywhere on the packet about butter. Should there be some, or not????
And the particular reason for one star is their bloody awful web presence which does everything it can to prevent people being able to contact them.

Ordered an office chair from Tesco market place. Arrived from a Chinese supplier with no instructions. Attempted to contact Tesco customer service and was met with a 34 page list of their outsourced suppliers that I was supposed to route through and then contact myself. Another British company who have given up and could not care less about their customer experience. Will no longer be buying anything through Tesco website. Avoid!!!!

Don't deserve even a one star! Bought an ink cartridge own brand and was faulty, The self checkout till did not issue me a receipt, Cartridge was faulty for my printer and customer services were damn rude. This store is Pitsea Extra in Basildon. Unhelpful and desrepectful, Not sure why rudeness is part of their work ethic?
Don't buy their (Tescco) brand ink cartridges as they are of very poor quality, Staff are Ferrell and poorly trained so be aware...............

Very poor service.....I received an email from Teso just before my thousands of Clubcard points were about to expire.
I went onto their website to use them and was offered a number of options for which I could use the points.
I then spent hours trying to spend them only to discover that the transaction did not work so I now expect my points are out of date. Beware!

If I could give a 0 I would!!! The food is rotten the fruit is the worst. Also I had 3 vouchers for free delivery on whoosh if I spent £15 so I tried 3 time's and funny everything I wanted on all 3 orders wasn't avaliable on whoosh. An absolute scam they should close it down.

I rarely use the large Tesco by me, every time I do I’m treated like a criminal.

I only ever go with 25% off clothing. Would never do a ‘shop’ there.

Last time I went I had the same experience, pay for items and stopped in front of all the shoppers. Tonight I paid £100 for items, asked for the tags to be removed and was treated like a criminal in front of a huge line of shoppers. I went straight to CS and returned it.

This will be the last time I do that.

I understand there is an issue with stealing these days, but come on - treating hard working shoppers looking to treat themselves in this climate should be celebrated - not demonised.

I’m actually not surprised of Tescos low Trust pilot score. Never have any issues in any other supermarket and usually use M&S/Sainsburys and Lidl. Always spoken to politely and never treated with such disdain.

Tesco are disgusting for treating customers like that. Will be the last time I spend money there - even though I only went for clothing, it’s not worth it.

Bought "fresh" bananas this morning. They had started to go off by this afternoon. Sadly this is not the first time this has happened.
