Jessica presented the house we viewed well, she was informative and engaging which made our visit very worthwhile.

I could not recommend a letting agency any less. It is not clear to me that anyone at Chancellors understands the seriousness of being responsible for people's housing and how stressful the letting process can be. They simply do not care at all about tenants and will treat you quite hostilely.

We had a horrible referencing process with Chancellors and their AI referencing software, Goodlord. They won’t tell you this, but if you do not have a permanent or long-term fixed employment contract, you will fail your referencing. Chancellors also clearly had no idea how to use, liaise with or interface with the Goodlord system because we were told very different things from both companies about what we needed to do. When we tried to explain what was going on to our agent via email, she would call us and tell us our email was too long and she couldn’t be bothered to read it.

Then, when we finally got through the referencing process and got to move in, the property was filthy. We could not live there as it was unsafe and there were chemical spills in the bathroom. For the first 4 days of our tenancy, we could not get in contact with Chancellors to discuss the state of the property despite us calling their office 12 times. We had to take approximately 10 hours off of work and purchase our own cleaning supplies to clean the property so that it was safe before we could move in.

We have tried to address our concerns with Chancellors multiple times. They are simply disinterested in our experience and are still plainly not reading our emails.

I bought a property at Oxford assisted by Cornelia. I am generally happy with their professional services. I would surely consider selling properties through them in the future

Really poor. Very difficult to deal with. We had to wait for their commercial team to confirm receipt of funds. Really poor.

We were renting a property from chancellors that we then purchased. Over a month post purchase they still haven’t paid us back our deposit - they don’t answer us when we chase and still can’t give us a timeline even though the payment was agreed over a month ago.
Please don’t trust these people with your money. They clearly can’t manage deposits and don’t believe in consumer rights or laws

We had Chante show us around our dream house which then materialised into us being successful in renting it. From the first phone call, Chante was professional and warm in her interactions and built trust that she would find us our ideal property. During the viewings and in the subsequent communications, Chante was transparent and acted with integrity at all times, two values important to myself and I really appreciated her keeping us both updated with developments. Chante is a credit to the company and I will be recommending Chancellors to friends and family in the future. Thank you for making what could have been a long stressful experience such a pleasant, easy one!

What a lovely estate agent Mr Pontais, or as I knew him, Jack. If it weren’t for him I wouldn’t be living the Notting Hill dream. I’m yet to find my Hugh Grant but at least I have a house

We sold our house through Chancellors who were very accommodating, helpful and guided us through what was a challenging time. Simon & Aysha were both always on hand to answer our queries and offer sensible practical advise. Nothing was too much trouble and the whole process from listing to accepting an offer was just 7 weeks! We would have no hesitation recommending Chancellors in Chipping Norton.

Lauren quickly understood what we were looking for and clearly explained the current state of the housing market. Me and my wife had great experiences with Chancellors, where we received great support with a technical issue towards the end of our tenancy. With great efforts by the tenancy manager, Laura Skurdenyte, to keep us updated through the process to resolve the problem with our deposit return. Then, initially when our tenancy began, we also had a great service from the lettings negotiator, Daniel Wise, who stood out to us from the beginning out of all our viewings. So, very appreciative of all the staff involved.

Sagarika has been incredible throughout the process of helping us secure our new flat. She has gone above and beyond to make everything as smooth and stress-free as possible. Whoever she will be working with next, will be in very good hands!

We were beginning to lose hope with the particular branch we were dealing with. It was extremely difficult to get hold of anyone; messages left on answering machines went unanswered, and we were repeatedly told that staff were in meetings.

Then Katie Adams appeared almost like a saviour.

She immediately took ownership of the situation and went the extra mile to make sure the family could move in successfully. She was prompt, professional, empathetic, and genuinely helpful throughout, particularly when we were dealing with complications involving overseas payments, documentation, and timing.

What impressed me most was that Katie did not treat us as just another case to process and forget. She stayed engaged, communicated clearly and kept things moving when we really needed someone to take responsibility.

A genuinely excellent level of service. Katie made a very stressful process manageable, and I would happily recommend her personally.

Jamie Woodman went above and beyond recently when I had an issue with my toilet seat. The first set of contractors hired didn't show up for the job but she quickly hired another contractor to complete the work and communicated with me throughout on what was happening.

I had a specific request with challenging circumstances and unmovable deadlines. Zayd helped to navigate through the process and I eventually moved on 15 August 2026. Thanks

We have viewed properties with Fern Bailey on a number of occasions. Fern does an excellent job for her clients in always presenting properties positively but never in a pushy way. She tries to understand the needs of prospective buyers and is always helpful and courteous.

We rented a property through Chancellors for just 12 months and had an extremely poor experience throughout. This wasn't down to one individual. We dealt with multiple property managers and numerous people across the business, yet the same issues with poor communication, repeated mistakes and general mismanagement continued.

It became bad enough that I eventually took my complaint to the Property Redress Scheme, who independently reviewed the case and awarded me compensation.

We were good tenants and, from what we saw, the service provided to our landlord was extremely poor too. We ended up having a direct relationship (despite him paying them to manage the property!).

I'm writing this because I genuinely wouldn't want anyone else to have the experience we did. I would honestly choose a less suitable property over ever renting through Chancellors again.

I had a great experience when looking for a property. George Tubb Marla was extremely helpful. He made the process easy as he went through all the information about the property in detail, he also kept communication strong and answered all my questions in great detail.
